  • in the 1980’s my old friend Nigel Kennedy went from being an extraordinary violinist to major celebrity but he was not just a great player BUT a pioneer of many techniques;-the tremelando slide [now used by many rock bands/orchestrators] and playing right up to the bridge/Jimi Hendrix like sounds on an acoustic instrument - techniques I that I used myself, especially in this piece WILD TIHNG which was written in 1989 & dedicated to him.
I got banned from the Prom in the 1970’s for insisting that Afro American harmonies/rhythms were the way forward not 12 tone, then many years later seems Nigel's been banned too for openly supporting the Palestinian cause.
    Big up the NK.
