🌱My experience with Aloe Vera in the last few years has been nothing less than amazing. I have used aloe on my hair and face numerous times and I just love what it does for me. If you are an old subscriber, you know I only use aloe vera JUICE instead of water when I'm styling my hair also. This is my FIRST time using aloe as a STYLING GEL and I looooovveee the results!
Aloe Vera contains cleansing and moisturizing properties, which promotes hair growth, prevents itchy scalp, and reduces dandruff while also conditioning the hair. I tried this immediately after big chopping last year. No leave-in, just aloe. Popping with hang time and definition after application. Then after I air dried, it looked EXACTLY like a Pam Grier fro. First wash n go attempt lol.
Does the aloe leave any kind of smell in your hair?

I have also been doing just aloe vera gel. It just saves so much time. I have lo porosity thin fine 3b. My hair leans toward dryness but not excessively so my hair isn't particularly weak either. So product build-up is always a problem when following most curly routines cos all that layering doesn't quite work for me. I have a totally natural DIY regimen. Wash with the gel of Aloe Maculata or soap aloe. I conditioner with a combo of oat gel, aloe Vera gel, honey and oil. Then I apply my aloe vera gel as a styler and leave-in conditioner and a bit of oil, any oil I have on hand I actually want to try mixing the gel with oil first and then applying. Aloe Vera and aloe maculata are freely available in my area. Duriy water restrictions and drought a few years ago, everyone planted aloe of some kind in their gardens. Infact I discovered 3 aloe Vera bushes along the road near me and soap aloe in a really overgrown corner in the garden. And they have multiplied by doubled in the last 6 months. They are indigenous to South Africa and once you have them they multiply like weeds. So My go to is aloe ..... For everything cosmetic

I looooove your hair! After the 2-3 days with the aloe in your hair, do you have to wash it out ? Will it dry out your hair ? Or will your hair be fine without washing the aloe out ? I’m a new subscriber by the way I love love love your hair
Thank youuu! For me, I don't have to wash it out, but I did end up changing my hair after about 3 days bc I don't typically keep styles for too long. Eventually you will need to at least rinse it out

Nope! Well, when cutting it and working with it, it does have a very musty smell lol BUT I think since adding my peppermint oil at the end, it helped cut whatever smell there may have been on my hair🙌🏽

Thanks! I got the bikini from Forever 21 last year and the scalp massager I found at Dollar Tree, but I recently went to Walmart and saw they had it as well in the hair department. It’s cheaper at Dollar Tree though

Did you air dry? My hair looks just like yours when its wet but always dries with ZERO volume!
Yep! Took a lottttt of patient hours lol and when you do wash n gos, do you use a lot of products? I try to use no more than 2 hard products and just some oil, so my hair doesn’t stay flat
I usually do a leave in, curl cream, then gel
It could possibly be the curl cream + gel. Some people use heavy products, but it may not work for everybody. Try a leave in, moisturizer and gel & see if that helps :)

Did you have any flakes after wearing it for a few days? I’m looking for a product that won’t leave little balls of gel or flakes that most jelly products do.
I had no flakes with the aloe, just beware of any chunks from the actual plant

Thank you, I didn’t have a cast with the aloe, but it only lasted a couple days (for me) because I don’t keep the same hairstyle for long, but it can last however long you want it to, really
