Thanks for sharing. Also the vegetable glycerin is an emulsifier that's allowing the oils to blend with the water properly since water and oil don't mix on their own
Hey so… that’s not true. Glycerin is not an emulsifier. An emulsifier would actually bind the water to the fat (oil). You can see it separated after it sits for a minute after shaking the solution. An easy fix and a pretty simple emulsifier you could use would be liquid lecithin. Just add a few drops and shake the solution until it’s uniform. The phospholipids in lecithin will give you a homogenous mixture
I’ve used this mix for years; however I’ve also incorporated Fenegreek liquid and for my preservative I use Optiphen Plus so that I don’t have to keep putting it in the fridge because I travel for a living.
That mixture and boost of hydration is everything. It’s amazing how it can be used on the skin as well. Definitely will help in the cold weather months. Your children are beautiful. Thank you for sharing this will help so much.
My hair has been dry a little more lately. I'm not sure if it's because I just had a baby and my hormones have changed or what! Either way this video is right on time great share beautiful.
Thanks for this, it was what I was needing. 😍 And it was good to see the visual of the separation of oil and water in the bottle, showing how the oil sits on top of the water “sealing” in the moisture as we apply it to our hair.
Love this!! Mine is almost the same minus the lavender oil! 🖤 be careful with the bottles with that plastic insert because they can't get really clean🖤
Wow the formula changed a lot! I prefer the original one but with jojoba oil. This one is way too oily for my hair, I can tell by the sheen on your skin. Thanks for both formulas!
Hi, Ms. Jeanette, I thoroughly enjoyed your video. Thank you for sharing. One ingredient concerns me, the Castor Oil. I have gray and black hair. I'm sure you know that gray hair sometimes can take on different colors. For example, I was using a hair oil that was kind of yellow in color. After a while, I noticed that my twists were a little dingy/yellowish. So, I say that to ask should I be concerned about the Castor Oil? I didn't notice any coloration when you sprayed on your daughter's tray. Thanks again for your video.🥰 I think I will really love this moisturizer.
I think the people complaining might have been a little over dramatic... it probably has trace amount of proteins because it is known for its intense moisture rather than strengthening properties 🤷🏾♀️
@@MiVidaBellisima There are levels of protein sensitivity. I personally could not use aloe vera on its own as it makes my hair brittle. But then my hair is not keen on just water either!
I'm protein senstive but have no issues with Aloe Vera. That's weird. I use Aloe Vera Juice mixed with water. It doesn't seem to have strengthening properties to me just moisturizing. I can do a heavy protein treatment once a year, maybe ever 6 months or my hair gets very brittle.
Yes, I have for over 10 years. I use NOW Glycerin for my hair. I get asked all the time what moisturizer do I use in my hair. Glycerin has been the BEST for my hair. Also, now my twin with 4C uses, and several of my natural friend's. We are all in HOT FL.
I think I'm sensitive to protein AND glyCerin so what could I use in place of glycerin? Especially with me living in a dryer climate area. Or maybe I can just take that out and try the oil and rosewater
I always keep my son's hair in braids or twist and would like to have it out ..it is a little longer but what is your sons hair routine? I need to work on retaining moisture in my son's hair..its still a battle figuring out what works best in his hair ...i think my son is protein sensitive too.
For my youngest son, I like to wash (I uploaded his wash day routine today) and twist more so now because he's very active and I find it easier when wash day comes, I don't have to spend a lot of time detangling :)
I've tried everything. Argan oil, castor oil, aloe vera, coconut oil, and my hair is still dry. I have 3b curls that reach tailbone length when straight, but it shrinks up to my shoulders 😭 I think I have a health condition causing the dryness and texture change. Does anyone know what could be causing it/have experienced the same? I got my thyroid checked but it was normal.
It's likely a chlorine issue. Vitamin c neutralizes it. Try this recipe and add 1/4tsp vitamin c powder to the water. You can also do a tea rinse. Many tea blends have rose hips which is high in vitamin c.

when you say your sons hair is thicker than yours,do you mean in density or strand size?
@@megaw.6886 both, his hair strands are bigger and his hair is more dense in general.
Thanks for sharing. Also the vegetable glycerin is an emulsifier that's allowing the oils to blend with the water properly since water and oil don't mix on their own
Very true 🙌🏽
What???? I didn't know that. Thank you beautiful ladies!

I will have to try, thanks for sharing!
I will just make a small batch so I don't have to worry about preserving it. It looks simple to do
Why would you use OptiphenPlus if the oils can keep without preservatives
@@andreamarszalek971 probably because it has water in it... 🤷🏾♀️

Peppermint oil is great too!
This is so helpful! What kind of bag did you use in the bottle? And how did you apply it inside so it keeps in place?
Thank you 😊 The bottle came like this
My hair doesn’t do very well with vegetable glycerin. What substitutes can be use for this one ingredient?
following!
I can suggest removing the vegetable glycerin from the mix. I've done a little research and Vegemoist and Honeyquat may be good too
@@jeanettejbeauty6374 thank you!

Yes

Good idea
When you use the spray on your children’s hair does the moisture last all day? Trying to see apx how many hours the moisture last in the hair.
Can you share the link to your other moisture mix video with aloe vera?

In love in Florida. Can I use glycerin?
I would use in moderation especially if it's very humid out. It can be too much on your hair with humidity.
@@jeanettejbeauty6374 loll it’s very humid out here every day 😂 it’s no joke but thank you for answering ! 💪🏾

Yes, I would take the glycerin out. The good thing about DIYs is you can customize. You can also mix other oils too :)
Today is my wash day. I’m using
1. African Pride’s Pre-Poo
2. Carol’s Daughter wash day delight shampoo
3. Soultanticals deep conditioning treat
4. Melanin Haircare leave in
5. Melanin Haircare oil
That looks really nice 🥰 Moisturizing products 💦
