Hi Karen, another informative video, thank you. Will certainly look into these humectants. Looking forward to the Aloe Vera video. Wow, admiring your hair and as you say stay fabulous. Did I glimpse somewhere saying it's your birthday, do have a blessed day.
I still Jeri curl juice, CurlMax curl activator, or Carefree Gold activator with Blue magic castor oil hair grease ,and a little goes a long way,Blue magic has 18 different greases
HI AG! I talked about the Curl House Hair Nourishing Leave- In Conditioner -- you can check that out here and use code YT15 for a discount-- curlhouse.com/products/hair-nourishing-leave-in-conditioner. I also mentioned Camille Rose Honey Hydrate
Hi Thalita! You can TRY it (I've never tried all four together), BUT, reduce the amount of glycerin. In the video I mentioned 20% glycerin. That's way too much if you will add all four because I don't want your hair to feel too gooey or sticky. I would stick to about 5% of each if you use all four. Give it a try -- I don't think it will hurt! If your hair feels too sticky, add more water.
I recently realized that I was mistaking oily for moisturized because I put aloe Vera juice mixed with distilled water and glycerin and spray my hair with that, put in a leave in conditioner and seal it with my homemade shea butter, mango butter and some oils and the next couple days my hair is dry again. What am I doing wrong?
Hello Karen & thank you for the wealth of knowledge u shared. Do u have a book on the shelves or videos? I'm having problems retaining length esp. on certain sections of my head. (12-04-23).
Hello there! Yes, they are still useful in dry conditions as well. Vegetable glycerin is fine once it is mixed with water. It shouldn't be used by itself (its only to gooey by itself). Once glycerin is mixed with water it will be pull moisture from your hair.
I wouldn’t add it to the jar. I would use the protein conditioner as is, and for the last 5 minutes of the conditioning process, remove some conditioner and place in a separate container, mix with the honey and apply. You don’t want to minimize the protein benefits of the protein treatment by adding honey 🍯 so let the protein do what it’s supposed to do then followup with more moisture. Hope that makes sense
Thank you Karen! So your products should take care of my hair needs. I'll add some honey when using the conditioner too. Do you use anything extra to get that extra body to your hair?
hi Karen live in New Orleans and glycerin is not the best for your hair with the heat. Do you think the best as you said is to put glycerin in your conditioner
Hi Ms Marliyn! You are absolutely right! High humidity areas may not be the best place to 'over glycerin' your hair! LOL! You can certainly use products that are glycerin-free to sustain the moisture in your hair. I guess I can do a video about when NOT to use glycerin! Will add that to this list!
Where I live. I cannot use glycerin. When I used the product my hair looks lk an afro. In addition to that I cannot use aloe vera. It dries my hair out.
1) Vegetable glycerin
2) Honey
3) Aloe Vera
4) Panthenol
Thank you once again for bringing us a wealth of knowledge and teaching us how to take care of our tresses.
You are very welcome!!
When I read the title: Aloe Vera came to mind, immediately! It's beneficial for so many things! thanks for sharing.
Sure is! So many uses! I have a aloe plant that I use to apply on wounds - don’t need any neosporin! It works the same!

You are so welcome! I appreciate it!
Is protein in shampoo, conditioners etc okay for low porosity hair?
Can all four add with some water and leave in conditioner to moisturizer my hair

Hello Karen & thank you for the wealth of knowledge u shared. Do u have a book on the shelves or videos? I'm having problems retaining length esp. on certain sections of my head. (12-04-23).
what about adding the other products as well to conditioner thanks for all the info it's all new to me
Hi Marilyn! Yes! You can certainly add the other ingredients but check and make sure they are not already included in the conditioner first.
@@KarenofCurlHouse Thanks Karen🥰🥰
Not Soul Glo! 🤭 Great video! I always add aloe vera juice to my deep conditioner. 😍
So glad you appreciated that humor! Thanks a bunch!
I like to add aloe Vera juice and glycerin with distilled water for my hair. But my hair tends to still be dry am I using to much humectants?
Thank you so much!! Will these ingredients help in the winter weather since it's dry outside where I live? If not, what would you suggest?
Hello there! Yes, they are still useful in dry conditions as well. Vegetable glycerin is fine once it is mixed with water. It shouldn't be used by itself (its only to gooey by itself). Once glycerin is mixed with water it will be pull moisture from your hair.
Thanks for your quick response.
One more question ma’m
, can I also add honey to my protein deep conditioner?

Question Karen of Curl House can I mix the vegetable glycerin and aloe vera juice with water and use that?
Yes you can!!! I used to do that years ago! Less is more with the veg glycerin.
@@KarenofCurlHouse what percentage of each do you recommend I do make my own aloe vera juice?
@@cheriehunter4983 no more than 10%. If it’s too “gummy” then dilute it a bit with aloe vera.
Good afternoon Karen , I have a question!
When deep conditioning my low porosity hair can I sit under a dryer , I mean floor standing type of dryer ?
Yes! It can be a floor standing hooded dryer. It doesn't matter.
Thanks ma’m I appreciate
Can I add honey to my deep conditioner product that already contain glycerin ?
Yes yes yes! An excellent humectant!

Waoh thanks so much.
Just subscribed to your channel thanks again.
Pls can I also add honey to my protein deep conditioner?
Thank you Karen! So your products should take care of my hair needs. I'll add some honey when using the conditioner too. Do you use anything extra to get that extra body to your hair?
Hey There! I use a styling gel over my moisturizer to really give my hair volume and to lock in my curls.
I use styling gel as well, but try not to get it on my scalp to avoid product buildup. 😅
Jheri Curl Juice. I haven't heard that in a very long time. 😂
😂😂😂😂
