I must admit, I was breaking out into a cold sweat when I saw all those titchy components being casually tossed to the back of the bench! I needn’t have worried, you really know your onions! Great job.
This Bosch demo hammer had so many pieces! Its amazing to watch you assemble all those lil pieces so easily. Maybe you've got a blown-up diagram to look at(off camera, of course😉). Im not usually so lost w\ these, but this tool was quite a few oarts & pieces to assemble in the right order. I guess 21,000+ tools repaired gets you to this level! 💯👍👌🔌⚡⚠️🛠️🔧🔩🗜️📏📐🤔

The most impressive thing about these videos is how every little bit and screw is just casually thrown in a pile, and yet you still manage to put everything back together
I'll never question getting an extended warranty on my tools ever again if this is the standard of care that they receive if they crap out on you, a master at work and Dean makes it look simple.
Thanks for the very informative video Dean! Remember that God loves you, and remember to love Him too! He has gifted you with a brilliant mind and talent. He wants us to be with Him forever, but like the hammer in the video, He has to clean us up, and repair us first! 🙂
But if they simply handed out a new one. They would never know this part failed. Repairing under warrenty is a feedback loop, so they can always improve thier tools and keep them from failing
the old unit could be sent back to the manufacture for closer and lab inspection, this would keep an eye on possible weak spots in manufacturing and component failures, I would have thought a mass produced item would be cheaper to send out a new unit rather than paying a repair shop to repair it, @@deandohertygreaser
Just out of curiosity, what difference does it mean being under warranty . Like who then actually pays you, the customer or bosch, just wondering about the actual logistics of payment. An excellent tear down and repair video as usual.
The brand sends the parts, the service owner/together with the brand pays u the labor. Some brands require pictures but usually u just put the serial number of the machine under warrany + picture of the invoice or the receipt.
depends from what country you are. i work in shop in lithuania(europe). if it is waranty case( waranty filed in their page( bosch) - they give 3 years waranty. if devise broke and its under waranty time - we filled special page- dpd courrier comes and pick it- send to their repire shop. parts and labor goes from them( if its waranty case), or custumer should pay if its not( like water damage)
So, you said this was a warranty fix, do you do warranty work for some of the tool companies, or is this a tool purchased through you and its your warranty?
Good question, simply answer feedback. This is actually a good way to tell how good a brand is. It's actuly not a good thing to simply replace every broken tool. That's now cheap disposable tools are some cheap and useless. Big brands want thier tools to work right so they use the spare parts being sold to see what parts are failing most often and identify any repeat failures. So if this where a common problem, bosch will redesign and improve the part. You see this quite often. And you can see what parts have been redesigned as they normaly get a new part number. This is what keep the quality high. When a manufacture simply replaces a tool with out fixing or looking at it, it means they have designed and built them as cheap as possible to make the disposable. And have no interest in if they fail. Also this shows how cheap disposable tools actually are, as they have already allowed for the extra cost or replacing tools in the price if the unit to begin with.
Can we ask where do you buy your parts? I need a hammer piston for a bosch gsh 16 and can't find it shipped to Belgium?! You have a good adress for me?
What could be a reason for low hammering power on the same model? Could be that O-ring sealers on piston? Motor seems to be fine, also error(red) light doesn't shine.
These things have become so over-engineered its ridiculous. So many extra parts, complexity, malfunctions and cost for hardly any practical gain. Mass produced, throw away car engines like the new Mini. The Germans found that out in WW2 where a cig butt could stop a Tiger Tank. Im building a 81 RM465 from a frame, its a full nut and bolt restoration or build. I use white spirit to soak and clean the parts i get. Is that what you use to de-grease everything? Cheers.
@@deandohertygreaser Yes I use the old thinners but sparingly. Things like bearings, gears, bolts, spacers, stuff really baked on I put in a jam- jar or tub of white spirit and leave them for a week or 2. It really does the trick and its cheap. Problem is it takes a while. Are you over in Ireland? I'm after an airbox and a tank if you know anyone with any early 80's big bore Suzuki RM's lurking in any sheds. Took me 5 years to find an engine.m for this thing. Just a chipping away lol.

Been watching you for a few months now and it amazes me the amount of knowledge you have brilliant work you do so keep it up. Would it not have been cheaper to just for bosch to replace the it instead of a repair. 👍👍
The other Bosch blue tools you repaired didn't look all that different than the home gamer green ones, but this is very obviously on another level. It's built like something you would use to break a tank. Question: the original gearbox grease looked black (moly?), and the replacement white. Does the exact grease type matter?
I think it just gets 'dirty' from the metal(aluminum) wearing & discoloring the white grease. Although this isn't my field of expertise....I'm the end user of these tools. 😅👍👌🔌⚡⚠️🛠️🔧🔩🗜️📏📐✏️💪
And yes this is a high end professional model, not something a homeowner would typically need. Unless they're demoing brick, blocks, concrete or removing tiles(very handy for that w\ scraper blade)👍👌
Moly grease is better, but as long as a good quality grease is used, it's unlikely to make that much of a difference. Long term, if it doesnt get regreased again then there will likely get more worn down. They do generally use very hard steel for the gears though, so it's going to take years to see significant wear.
You sure know the score on tool repairs, I have the model before this I don’t think I could take it apart and rebuild it as fluently as you can. I am doing a bit more though
Very nice but What is that pliers you are using for the circlip holding front end down. Always had trouble taking that off with out second pair of hands
*I'd sent the same to a shop for repair. The people there said the same can no longer be repaired. Asked why, they said the people that know how to repair it have all died. Bad luck. Suggested to me to just buy a new ones.*

So, you said this was a warranty fix, do you do warranty work for some of the tool companies, or is this a tool purchased through you and its your warranty?
Obviously hes authorized to do warranty repairs from a few companies.
So it's basically a new tool why wouldn't Bosch just replace the whole thing if it is warranted?
The spares cost Bosch pennies to replace
Won't give work for Dean, and far cheaper to replace especially if designed like bosch

It’s shocking just how many ppl don’t care about sending a perfectly good tool to landfill.
Great work. Silly question, but why does it seem some Bosch replacement parts (like fan cover) always come in Makita blue?
3D Printer would fix that alot cheaper than you can possibly imagine
What type of grease was used ? Two people asked already ,probably water based ,lithium.

What is the name of the grease and is it available on amazone ??
Can we ask where do you buy your parts? I need a hammer piston for a bosch gsh 16 and can't find it shipped to Belgium?! You have a good adress for me?
All that complexity just so they can have a real piston hammer in a rotary tool. Did I see two contrapistons in there?
It`s the germans m8 , they always overcomplicate things .... Just go with the other teal team..
What could be a reason for low hammering power on the same model? Could be that O-ring sealers on piston? Motor seems to be fine, also error(red) light doesn't shine.

Because I am a bosch warranty agent. I do the warranty repairs for bosch here.
