Dean Lopez like most of the time they are not like as excited but they here that they have a fan to interview them they were like ohhhhhh! and l they had like bad interviewers and stuff like this guy should have a promotion! I LOVE this guy!
This guy really genuinely loves the band and was so enthusiastic about every question he asked, giving equal attention to both Josh and Tyler. this is the best interview EVER.
does anyone else notice that tyler goes on these really long like tangents or something and youre like "wtf is he talking about" and then it all makes sense and you get really like bewildered bc hes so wise
I've always wondered that...and although i know he'll never tell anybody what a kitchen sink is to him if i ever meet him i will ask him if at least josh knows...😌
The interviewer is a hardcore fan and I love it. This is what all interviewers should be like not a random person but someone who actually likes the artist's content. And I loved the interview.
I love how flawlessly Tyler described the "kitchen sink" reference without actually telling the meaning but not sounding super "oh ho ho im so special and quirky and cool for hiding the meaning of my song". Ya know? He handled it well
can we just talk about how cute it is that josh seems so content and happy to just listen to tyler go pff on these long deep tangents like it's a regular occurence and he just loves hearing the things that go on behind his best friend's mind because aw ??!
Me too. But if you think about it, if every interviewer was like this we wouldn't appreciate it as much. I love the rare interview where the interviewer is honestly just real and really knows their music and cares about it. It's awesome:)
Me: *is washing dishes in the kitchen sink* *remembers this interview* *has an existential crisis everytime i encounter any kitchen sink for all eternity*
can we talk about how Josh doesn't want to seem nice?? because I have some bad news for you Josh: as soon as you smile, everybody knows you're a little ray of sunshine and everybody loves you
Honestly, I think this is my favorite TØP interview. The interviewer is truly a fan of them and really does want to know about them. He asks questions that we were probably all wondering, because he's curious as well. Also, he actually paid an equal amount of attention to Tyler and Josh, not just Tyler like most interviews I've seen. This makes me so happy. ❤️
everybody has that one band that they love absolutely every aspect of. every song, every album, both of their personalities, and that is twenty one pilots for me.
"Create something that only you understand, that only you get, because that can really help you feel like you have a sense of purpose." holy thin mints, tyler. NOW PLEASE CAN YOU PLAY KITCHEN SINK LIVE AGAIN
Juan Bedón It's having a purpose because knowing that you know something that no one else knows and that is YOURS to keep, it is for YOU, it helps. If you have a purpose like that, you KNOW that your existence MEANS something and that you are an individual with your own thoughts and feelings.
omg at the begging they're all chill and then the interviewer says "one of my favourite bands" and tyler and josh both urn to him smiling aw my lil beans
I imagine Tyler Being super goofy and giggly when he's drunk , either that or he just is a super tease with a smirk on his face, like he is mean but in a funny douche way.
This interviewer is literally the best and you can tell Josh and Tyler reallllly enjoyed him and the entire thing. I love it! Why are they too precious.
you can really see the interviewer's enthusiasm bouncing right off them. from his first sentence on that they're one of his fave bands they just light up so adorably. it's a fantastic interview
Tyler: "we got brendon as drunk as we could at one point" Me: nice nice Tyler: "...and put him in front of a camera..." Me: wait Tyler: "...and told him to recite the history... you know what drunk history is right?" Me: nO Tyler: "he told the history of fall out boy on that tour." Me: *clears throat* IT WAS THE SUMMER OF 2001
this is the first interview I ever watched of twenty one pilots and when I first watched it I was kinda like "lmao this interviewer is such a dork why is he so enthusiastic and obsessed with this band." and now, almost a year later, here I am rewatching it with a tumblr and instagram dedicated to them, all the walls in my room covered in pictures of them, and over $300 worth of tøp merch, and I completely understand his enthusiasm.
When Tyler was talking about the Kitchen Sink lyric I actually started to cry because the first time I ever heard a Twenty One Pilots song was when my brother and I were cleaning the house and I was doing the dishes (aka a kitchen sink) and the first song I heard was Stressed Out and I was like "wow this accurately represents my life right now I need to listen to these guys more" (and now I'm absolute trash). But like it's so weird to have that be an actual lyric that I will sing for the rest of my life and remember that day.
Everytime I finish a fun interview of tøp I do this thing where I just smile for like 5 mins and readt through the comments 😂 does anyone else do that?
I love the fact that they played kitchen sink in this interview. I know Tyler said that regional at best was basically just demos, but I still feel the album is overlooked. Some of their best songs come off that album and I wish it got more recognition and that it was still available for purchase!
When Josh and Tyler heard him say that they were his favorite band their faces just lit up and can we just take a second to see how fucking content and loving Josh looks as he sees Tyler talking about the band and the music. These fucking childern are going to be the death of me i love them so much.
So it's definitely AT my kitchen sink. I really want to know what happened at the kitchen sink that is such an important and life changing thing to him. But I wouldn't dare to be the one to take away such an important thing from Tyler or anyone.
The kitchen sink thing is the same thing with the logo. It doesn't have a specific meaning to us, but to them; they have this logo to have a purpose, it's a thing only they understand and it inspires us to create something as equal - the kitchen sink (it could be anything, a journal, a wooden table, a flower for gods sake) has the same concept, and I absolutely love that, because Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, Twenty One Pilots, they create new things and inspire us to do the same, they are something you will never, ever see again, because they're unique, they care, they are so goddamn wise and I love them
I love this interview so much and the interviewer is so great man, its so rare to see an interviewer genuinely interested in what a band/artist is doing, 👍
The quote “the beginning of purpose is found in creating something only you can understand” is my favorite now. I’ve heard it before and it is my favorite quote now. Tyler and josh are incredible and they give us purpose and the love they show us and each other is incredible. I love them and I can’t think about the fact that these two men were suicidal and struggled with purpose. These two men’s purpose was showing others theirs. They have purpose and they found it and I promise everyone reading this can find theirs too. I love you twenty one pilots and I love the clique. Stay alive frens. It’s worth it💛💛💛
Such an incredible interview. The interviewer was funny, knew what he was talking about, kept the interview interesting by asking stuff I haven't heard anyone be asked before in an interview! Also so happy he asked the kitchen sink question, definitely will always be one of my favorites songs ever. Twenty one pilots' songs are so touching and deep, and different from anything I've ever heard. I feel like I can connect to their songs, and I love them even more after watching this video! Hope to see them live one day. Thank you for posting this!❤️
WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT HOW HAPPY AND EXCITED TYLER AND JOSH LOOKED WHEN THE INTERVIEWER SAID THEY WERE ONE OF HIS FAVORITE BANDS OMF ITS SO CUTE IM DYING
You know what I just realized. Their music is our kitchen sink. Like it is something more than one person understands, but each of us interprets it differently and it has a different meaning to each of us. It's more than just music it's a community where lots of us didn't feel like we belonged and now we do because of them. Kitchen sink is Tyler's purpose and meaning and they created music that gave us purpose and meaning. And realizing this is making me cry. Do you see what I mean?
Who knew that I could love twenty one pilots more than I already did after watching this interview? My heart hurts. This is the best thing I've ever had the pleasure of being a part of.
i love this interview so much and i watch it alot because the interviewer is so into what they're saying and is even a fan,, he gives them both questions and doesn't ignore josh because he knows he's important. i don't know he just seems so respectful yet fangirly at the same time which makes him possibly the best twenty one pilots interviewer, in my opinion (of the interviewers i've seen). theres something that has to do with the connection of the artist to the interviewer and the interviewer to the audience that can really make an interview great on both sides (interviewer and ty&jish) and i feel like he does this really well and can connect to both but also knows what he can and cannot say,, and even has non generic questions of his own. and look i know that not every interviewer can do research or love everyone they interview but theres a difference between being respectful and being dry. so props to this interviewer.
I love how the interviewer wanted to genuinely make sure Tyler was okay sharing his perspective of a kitchen sink, I found that so sweet because he knows that Tyler's lyrics have a personal meaning and he wanted him to feel okay about talking about it. So sweet and genuine, we need more interviewers like him
I love interviewers like this guy because he cares so much to ask different and more interesting questions - like Josh's hair dye question, they seem like it was such a new question and they're so much more interested in the interview. I love it!!
One of my favorite things about twenty one pilots:
Tyler: *gives a long, deep answer*
Josh: "what he said"
OMG YES
basically, tyler is the deep and josh is the "fake deep"
+katie geary don't say stuff like that here you'll get attacked

And now I'm realizing it's cause Tyler was talking about it. But the interviewer brought it up, so good job dude! XD
Also glad Mark was mentioned. Sure Tyler and Josh are best frens, but Mark is a good fren to both of them as well. They're like a frenship trio...
I actually cried when tyler was talking about the meaning of kitchen sink :(((((((

I agree! And it was so cute to watch tyler and Josh's reactions when the interviewer knew stuff about their music and was a fan:)
Such a good interview. You can tell John Mingione is a genuine member of the skeleton clique. I love that you asked questions they don't get a lot!

I love this interview! The interviewer really knows what he's talking about, keeps it interesting, and asks the perfect questions |-/

because people are jealous of them , they're fucking amazing . They hate them because they ain't them
They actually mean "Dis I Like"

when they're playing Kitchen Sink in the background and you're trying so hard to not sing along and listen to the interview instead
starting at 3:50 when he starts describing the idea behind "kitchen sink."
I love interviewers like this guy because he cares so much to ask different and more interesting questions - like Josh's hair dye question, they seem like it was such a new question and they're so much more interested in the interview. I love it!!
