    Ross fitted me in i530s recently, retro loft and graphite shaft. Getting much better flight and descent angles now with a little extra distance as well. So far so good!

    I have had zero issues getting a nice high ball flight with stopping power. Trackman stats
    9irom - 75mph - Land Angle 50.5*
    8iron- 77mph - Land Angle 49.9*
    7iron - 77mph- Land Angle 46.9*
    6iron - 78mph - Land Angle 41*
    5iron - 79mph - Land Angle 40*
    I did notice on a previous, while swinging my 6i at 85mph, Land Angle increased to 43.1*

    I like these videos with the slower swing speeds , I was surprised that 75mph was considered average , myself at 62 yrs old thought I would be lucky to be at the average but I am at the 82 to 85 mph range and don't have any problem launching either of these models so happy here !! and you are right they are launching too low , I am assuming you are using a tour ball Pro v etc. for people that like these irons but are needing more launch maybe a ball change would help like a Callaway Supersoft or something similar as it should launch higher as a two piece ball does and could mute the clicky sound of that Ping.

    Good to see you going the extra mile to test clubs at the speed of an average golfer, not many in the RUclips world do. I play the i525 for almost 2 years now and love the,m, did try out the old Mizuno pro 225 but that’s a tag too compact for my liking despite a slightly better feel, interesting to note you said it’s the other way around in this generation, sound like it’s down to preference between these two.

    Great video. The COG of both of these means they will launch the ball higher which for the right swing will result in high shots with decent land angles. I recently went for a fitting and tried all sorts of different head and shaft combinations. I ended up with i530’s modus pro shafts and I’m delighted with them.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  Месяц назад +1

      Yeah COG plays a small part but loft is by far the biggest factor in launch, so I would still class these as relatively low launching irons. But that's not too say they aren't brilliant, because they absolutely are. They just need to for the player well and there will be loads of golfers out there that these irons will be amazing for

    • @derekturner744
      @derekturner744 Месяц назад

      @@epgolfstudios the loft on the 7 iron is 29 deg so quite strong but if you hit a really high ball (which I do) then the landing angle will still stop the ball quickly. Keep up the good videos. I’d love to see a matchup between the new Vokeys and the S159’s..

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  Месяц назад +1

      @@derekturner744 absolutely yes. And yeah I never really do much with wedges tbh as the head to heads are just a bit boring 😂 if you have a 54* degree Vokey Vs 54* S159 the numbers would be identical. So when it comes to wedges its all just about getting the right bounce and grind for the player and the versatility needs. And some manufacturers might just have better options for you than others

      @@epgolfstudios fair point Ross. Are your 8 brands at similar price points though? It was more the feel off the face. The Ping just felt it exploded off the face and just made you feel good. Which I'm sure some won't like, which is absolutely fine. The 245 to me just felt a bit duller and deader off the face.

      I am around 70-72 mph swing speed with 7i so around that 100-103 mph ball speed. I lack height and spin because I like to draw the ball. play to around a 7 or 8 cap and iron play isn't the best so I like a bit of help. The Callaway Smoke HL iron with its weaker lofts helped and their stock steel shaft is an Elevate 85g was a good fit. I am just not a Callaway fan. So the search continues. Mizuno JPX923 Hot Metal HL is another good one but a bigger profile. if you like a smaller profile the Srixon ZX5 is a really high launcher of the ball. it won a fitting for me last year and was the only iron to get over 70' peak height (out of it, the i230, g430, ZX4, T350)

    75 MPH Swing speed players would-should not be players either of these Irons IMO. Like others have said I think you must have some weak players coming in your studio if you consider 75 MPH as average.

    • @epgolfstudios
      @epgolfstudios  Месяц назад +3

      @@TZOID08 75 - 80 IS average on the spectrum of every golfer out there. It's not what I see it's just the facts. Same as around 90mph with driver is average. But I do agree I wouldn't fit people swinging this slowly into these irons unless they had the delivery type where they were adding loft at impact. Which I do see fairly regularly tbh.
