My favorite series of all time (largely for nostalgic reasons....I was 11 when the first book came out, and I'm 32 now). My license plate is even ATTOLIA. This vid is slightly spoilery and I definitely disagree that you can read them in any order. Read them in order and avoid spoilers at all costs!

I made the terrible mistake of reading the first book (a million times as a kid) and then picking up the third, skipping the second. Don't do that. So Much Happens. Read them in the order the series was written: The Thief, Queen of Attolia, King of Attolia, Conspiracy of Kings, Thick as Thieves. It gives you the best perspective of characters growing and motivations changing.

These books caught my attention a few weeks ago. Now even more so! Specially with the audiomachine soundtrack! Loved this!

I know the video said they were stand alone and you can read in any order, but is there a timeline to the books? Does one book happen before another and is there absolutely no cross over between the books?
There is definitely crossover, even though the video says you can read them in any order, I do suggest reading them in order if you can!

Read them in order, and avoid all spoilers.
Literally just came across this and now I’m even more interested in starting this series. I think a 6th book is being released this year as well. I’ve only read the first GOT book but I’ve read the Legend trilogy multiple times so a combo of these is a recipe to good to pass up.
After I’ve finished reading the ASOIAF series I’ll definitely check these out.

I would not recommend reading them "in any order." They are told chronologically, and each book builds on the events on the other and are referenced. The first three books have Gen and the main character, the last two do not.
Great video! But am I the only one who disliked The Thief? I read it but found it to be very boring, so Im not sure if I should continue or not :(
The Thief has a really different tone from the rest of the series. The rest of the books are way more political and complex. So I wouldn't give up on the series unless you dislike the next book, too.

the first book was written in 1996 which was the same year as the first GOT book, so i doubt the intent was copying so keep reaching
