Got 2 defenders of the ancients and 1 combat patrol age ago, almost exactly this list (minus the 3 extra pioneers) 429EUR for a full 2k army isn't terrible GW related. Now I can go broke with another army!
Great video! I've been running a list almost exactly like this, the double magna rail has so much fear around it people will dump everything into the hekatons to even though you never hit anything with them lol. I like a iron master near one for the wound regenerate
I think the most optimal to attach / deploy this would be- 5man kyn in Sag 1 (ie split the squad). This is the stripped squad Beserks in sag 2 Attach Grimnyr to other half of kyn, with the heavy weapons, into Hekaton 1 Attach Champ to non teleport 5 man Hearthguard, into Hekaton 2 Rest of Hearthguard deep strike, Kahl into 10 man Looking at Facebook comments though, looks the player put both the small 5 man HG into the hekaton, to allow wound rerolls
Looks like this is the likely breakdown, though I would personally prefer to run the grimnyr solo just to have an extra activation in the list for secondaries (cover more ground) Having the two HG squads in the HLFs makes sense. Though, the TP crest would be wasted in that case. Very possible all matchups simply demanded starting both on the table
At that same tournament there was another LoV that finished X-1. He ran a more traditional 3 pioneer, 1 HLF, but played 25 Hearthguard with 2 Khals and 1 Champion. That list looked to bully up the board with the two 2 man bricks.
25 Hearthguard is really interesting to see again. I know that up until the dataslate, most lists ran somewhere between 10-15. I wonder what caused the shift to bring more of them back to the table? Tougher units in other armies getting cheaper? Maybe stronger counters getting nerfed? Thanks for calling out that list, I had it on the radar and will likely cover it in the next episode
@@VotannVersus40K I think they were a huge risk to walk up the mid board and camp because of wraithguard and Forgefiends picking them up easily. But now the shooting isn’t nearly as good in the meta and you can park them on mid.
Hi Shark, for wayfarers grace it would only apply to the bearer itself. In this case, my understanding is you only bring back the grimnyr. It’s still quite nice as you effectively get 1+1+4+4 wounds
I feel one of the problems of votann is the range is too small to be able to tweek our armies to get as close as possible to 2000... i also need to tweek mine, but then it defeats the goal of my list, which is 1 of every unit/model type

That’s honestly the ideal start to the army, best savings you can find!
Bro I was just looking through the discord for list ideas for my game Saturday. This is just what I needed. Thanks you for all the hard work .
Thanks for the kind words and welcome to the channel! I try to cover a top placing list each week so hopefully you can find some inspiration

Thanks Andrew! Psychological warfare at its best 😉

talking about the magna rails vs custodies16:00 remember he did lose to custodes

Einhyr champ would be in the teleport unit as his weavefield will protect the teleporters and r/r charge will be more useful from teleport
E champ weavefield only protects himself no?
@stepansvabenicky1638 I'm pretty sure it's the unit but could be wrong
@@Ulfhednir9 it says "the bearer", not his unit.
@@stepansvabenicky1638 dang there goes that plan
The HLF magna-rail Canon hits on a 4 normally. I also thought it was a 5 but double checking the Jan dataslate and the app both say 4
Hey Blue, for the magna it’s a 5+ for the warriors unlike the HLF which is a 4. Sorry for any confusion
Quick question regarding the enhancement on the Grimnyr: Would he bring his Corvs back as well if resurrected with Wayfarers grace?

No, its model only
Thank you for the answer!@@VotannVersus40K
