I find it funny how this line is expressed by two women who don't really seem emotional.

Originally, they changed the ending because it almost the same as Captain Marvel. Except Captain Marvel had some comedic moments because MCU.
Also -- How?? How do 'emotions' make a person stronger? Which emotion? Love? Hate? Happiness? Sadness? What is the mechanism? An emotionless character makes the statement without accounting for all the people who are broken in the movie by their own emotions of grief, self pity, and exhaustion. Where does the triumph come from, and how?
If it's going to be the central revelation that allows the main character to turn the tide of war, shouldn't some of this information be available to the audience?

Something that got left out: They kinda forgot that when Logan went back into the present after being sent back in time, Jean was alive and well, and not ded like she is here. Also, in this movie Magneto & Charles are pretty much the same ages that Sir Ian McKellen & Sir Pat Stew were when they portrayed the characters in the first X-Men movie, yet they still look real young and show no signs of aging and no attempt to explain this is made
X-men timeline are fucked up, you know
@@matthewk4912
How tf is Raven dead when these movies are prequels. Like in the OG X-Men she's alive but dies right here? Lol i need a hardcore explanation on that one.
@@matthewk4912
Still don't see how it effects Raven dying
@@RedneckGator because it's a completely different timeline. In the first one, she was alive because she stayed with Magneto and brotherhood of mutants and terrorised humans. She turned human anyway in Last Stand. And by Days of the Future Past (at the start), it's a pretty much dead world where mutants and humans who help are dead or dying. Logan had to reverse the timeline to stop raven from killing Trask in the past. Killing Trask meant the government would consider his plans on Sentinels, which in turn killed mutants and caused the bad future. So he got Charles, Erik & Hank to stop Raven killing Trask. And later when Charles convinced raven to not kill Trask, the future became better. The world started appreciating Xmen and not as a villain.
Jean was alive by the end of Dark Phoenix though. She's literally the phoenix. She can come back to life at will. Which she does, sometime between this, and Days of the Future Past's ending. And with the age thing...nothing can really be done about it. We can't get Patrick Stewart & Ian McKellen to play Charles & Erik from 1960s - 1990s. ofc they should've added some aging makeup or something but that doesn't really matter.
Yeah storm uses her lightning powers on a metal train. Wow!! Smart! At least in the first ever xmen movie, magneto hinted on how stupid that would be, when Cyclops asks storm to blast magneto while they were strapped within the statue of liberty. In his words "a lightning bolt through a super conductor? I thought you lived in a school"
Actually, metal train is the safest place to use lighting powers as it's high conductivity grounds the charge. There is a reason we use copper spike to safeguard tall buildings from lightning storms.
The problem in the first movie is that Magneto's powers are based on electromagnetic fields. Storm's powers make it easier for him to use his.
@@nithinkhydrose4899 that's his point. Electricity only follow the path of the least resistance. The whole train effectively act like a faraday shield, shielding the aliens from the attack.

The part where Night Crawler went crazy when that guy died confused me a lot. I thought I missed a scene when I first watched the movie.
With these things it's either just bad writing or bad decisions in the cutting room. Maybe they had a scene together and it was cut from the movie
Same. Plus it felt out of character for him.
@@92brunod "my kid was a fan of yours. Has a doll of you." That kid is now an orphan. The guy also let them go and was hoping they could've protected them.
I only agree with some of the video (Magneto is literally a character that changes motivations on a whim, because of "feelings". Storm was fighting in the earlier area with innocents around. Movie Mystique and most versions of her character is often about being an ungrateful bitch), but the movie really wasn't as awful as people were making it out to be.
Making Professor Xavier the bad guy was super forced though. You could tell that they were really fishing for conflict here. Should've taken that time to flesh out the villains a bit more. The feminism message was also hella lame. The movie literally didn't need it. Everyone knows how awesome Storm, Kitty and Jean are.
They did quicksilver dirty. Quicksilver is a pro and super op as past movies go. He saved everyone from the explosion in the X-men mansion while dancing around and shooting darts, surfing mid air and throwing people miles away with bare hand. Now in this movie he can’t land on the ground. And never show up again. And how come quicksilver not save those cops but watch. This is the guy who can finger tap you and you would be dead. And how the fuck Jean caught him in super speed. That doesn’t make sense.
Biggest disappointment of 2019 Game of thrones and Dark Phoenix.
Phoenix can catch Quicksilver because she's faster than him.
Phoenix is omnipotent. She's effectively a goddess. Easily one of the top 10 most powerful beings in all of Marvel.
felynecomrade you’re saying her mind faster than quicksilvers god like speed. She’s a god like omega level being yes but she doesn’t have that kind of power to catch a speedster while they are in super speed like this one here. Telepathic, healing factor, immortality and many more but not fast to catch a speedster like this version. You know what the truth is X-men movies are devoid of logic.
@@shefain2357 "Speedsters" are DC, unless I am mistaken.
Phoenix' power as a mutant is absolute. Magneto said it himself: "I can manipulate the metal in this object. But you? YOU can do ANYTHING."
felynecomrade that doesn’t mean she can catch quicksilver. Her brain is not fast enough to do that. They just wanted to move quicksilver out of the picture because he solves everything. I would appreciate if Jean pulled a mind frick on quicksilver. They shouldn’t even make him that powerful in first place. And That line just means she can not only control metal like magneto she can do it with everything else. Plus she is telepathic. She just has multiple powers. Also nothing wrong calling him a speedster. He is the same like others but without speed force.
Magnito in this series was like the backup villain he’s there whenever they need one
"Oh shit, we need conflict. Time to, uh, make Magneto a villain again?"
5:18 I like how Nightcrawler's tail has a cuff restraint. It's the small details that count.
Just on the critique about how fast the government turns on the X-Men, seeing as how they already apparently have the camps built the trains built and the devices to neutralize their powers and soldiers trained to deal with this situation clearly they didn't just suddenly decide to turn on them they'd already been planning all this from the start but Jean going crazy gave them the excuse to pull the trigger.
But yeah the rest of the movie's pretty dumb
That's how it always goes. Governments are sneaky bastards.
And I guess the presidential phone line to Xavier was a bit of an olive branch in the meantime (I'm assuming Xavier at least cleared up that he was being told to recite all the Apocalypse stuff and that "*I* will kill everyone" wasn't in reference to Charles himself).
Actually yeah that makes a lot of sense. If Charles ever had reason to contact anyone in the government, they'd rather he call them so they can lie/not mention the camps and devices. Whereas without a convenient line to them, Charles might just telepathy to contact them and they don't want him in their heads.
Ok how many people have not seen that movie before watching this video?

Or maybe I'm just tired of hearing the same jokes dozens and dozens of times, when what I really enjoy is the movie-specific sins, which are more unique per video.
Yo that last part was dark.
The least logical thing about this movie was why there were even aliens in it. Skrull or d'Nabu, it doesn't matter. Dark Pheonix should be an internal struggle that takes a turn for the worst on Jean Grey. In the comic, the Hellfire Club does a lot to facilitate it, but they where never after an extra-terrestrial force that possessed Jean. If the movie had begun on Prof. X coming clean to Grey about her father disowning her, starting Jean on a path of self-loathing, and then the ACTUAL Hellfire club provided her a "solution," the movie could have worked much better.
It also makes no sense for the aliens to show up. They didn't show up in the original timeline so they shouldn't appear here either. Its extremely unlikely that the timeline changes on Earth would affect something from another galaxy.
The aliens were supposed to be the same aliens in Captain Marvel whom could shapeshift. A way for Disney to include them in their universe since buying Xmen but reshoots and such. Originally was supposed to be a two part movie which would of gave us alot of explanation we needed but Disney coming in last minute kind of messes up something like this

My emotions make me strong; diversity is my strength!
Yes, this should be a Democrat Presidential campaign Slogan.
Really catchy!
@Myllena Lara Alves da Silva It is, that is why the West is now a shithole of degeneracy, sex-driven and weak minded people with no common cultural identity. Letting women vote is why 80% of the shit we go through, happens. Too emotional. You're proof of that.
the only thing i like about this movie is how jean's powers look
Really glad to see you're continuing with the Devoid Of Logic series after GOT. I really enjoy these. Keep it up!
@ 0:19 that face u make when ramsay shows u his BOLT ON
I've been putting off this channel for too long. Good stuff!
My main points for the fact that this comment is good
1: that wasn’t a bad comment
2: if I come back and edit the comment it can be good
3: if you look past every sentence of this comment it has the potential to be a really good comment!
"and by the way the women are always saving the men around here you might wanna think about changing the name to X-Women" I felt the cringe sliding down my back
Why was it cringe?
Wait that's illegal 😂😂😂 this movie needs work
Jean: [unemotionally] "my emotions make me strong"
I was surprised you changed anything from the look of the title
Underrated movie. Disney destroyed it by forcing reshoots. I bet they themselves wants to make that Dark phoneix storyline down the line, after they have integrated the x-men characters into mcu, and of course reduced them to become comedians like everyone else in the mcu.
isn’t the whole movie devoid of logic already
A few things I'd like to add: When Raven died, and Hank is there really close to the camera you can see his prosthetic eyebrow is falling off. And based on what I remember from the opening scene, which was almost completely black, and a comment I made, like, 3 months ago, the true form of the aliens (Were they Skrulls? Doesn't matter. They sucked ass.) was brown John Connor terminators from Terminator Genisys. Groot Flavoured, if you will.
Re-titled, X-Men Dark Phoenix
Please keep doing videos like these but not just superhero movies
Other genres like horror please
Dude, can you also try to make sense of their time line? This movie got me confused because since mystique died here it's understandable that this is after apocalypse but in apocalypse Jean already had the phoenix force. But in the beginning of the movie she didn't.
The Phoenix is weird, so what I tell myself is that it dormantly existed within her, backwards through time. Being able to appear in visions and be within past versions of Jean is fully within Phoenix' power.
I remember this movie going through a few changes when the test audiences hated it, but if the writing is fundamentally flawed from the beginning, there's just no saving it. Good video, liked and subbed
“My emotions make me strong.”
Must be pretty weak if that’s the case.
Title: “X-Men Dark Pheonix but its devoid of logic.”
Me: *plays entire movie*
I mean.......if someone pointed a gun at my president, I’d be a fan 🤷🏽♂️😂
haha loser. MAGA. KAG.
Hoosier Daddy, Boy I haven’t heard of KAG what’s that one?? Lol
@@rthetruthful Kick Ass Gumball
keep America great
Andrew Heagwood he should change it too TNTGI 😂😂
I actually liked Magneto in this.. to me it was more of a classic 'mom saying "do what I say, not what I do" situation' and him saying that he can't help himself... he's already lost, he already gave into it and will live with it forever. He's MAGNETO now. Supervillain, vengeance and hatred flow through his soul and that's all.. his humanity is gone. (Not entirely. We know that isn't true, that he's not a bad guy deep down.)
I saw it as him using himself as a worst case scene example to scare her straight.
It's 2019 if a character says something he won't do something he's probably going to do it...you should know it
gotta love when THE MESSAGE force fed down everyone's throat.
I could defend the Nightcrawler part if I heard right he said my kids used to be a fan and maybe he's thinking oh now this kid has no dad and they used to be my fans oh no but that's the only thing I could think to back that up
4:13 That's like a smoker telling non-smokers not to smoke, kinda makes sense ("Don't make the same mistakes i did" - kind of thing)
this is clickbait. S/he would've posted the whole movie.
THANK YOU! this entire film was Peter Maximoff erasure and I'm not here for it
I haven't watched the film, but now that I've seen this I never am.
Thanks for marking this, was thinking the same thing.
You should do at least three of these for The Last Jedi.
@Freeze Peach TLJ is an illogical, poorly structured, tone-deaf and horrendously mess. I honestly don't understand how anyone can call it "smart" when it is both simplistic and overwhelmingly pretentious at the same time.
Seriously The Last Jedi was on the same level as GoT S8, for all the same reasons.
How about the fact, that we basically see jean sacrificing herself, and join the cosmos or whatever, in Dark Phoenix, but in the "New" future scene in Days of Future Past we see jean at the school with all the other characters
