Hi Beth. I have 3 Gayles. one in light auburn, autumn blend and honey!! It is fascinating to see how different each wig looks, how the cut is slightly different. But I worked with them all and LOVE them all!!! Patience is key!! So is root spray, dry shampoo, and a good pair of hair cutting scissors!!! LOLOL
That is Awesome!!! I think every wig is just slightly different too, part of manufacturing and sometimes it's on a different production line, etc. I see that across all brands with machine made wigs! I've been fortunate in that I've been able to work with all of the wigs I've gotten and some take a little more while others are just shake & go, but I am having so much fun with all this pretty hair! xoxo 💕💖😊

Do you use distilled water to avoid all the minerals? I bought 2 wigs from Paula’s. They need to give you a commission. I got the Faye and also the Encore. I decided to get misty mocha in the encore and the ash blonde/brownish in the Faye. I am excited and these videos are gold for helping me manage the wigs when they arrive. I wish Paula Young would have more cool blonde frosted or rooted colors. The colors are way too warm.
You can absolutely use distilled water! I many times will just use tap water. However, I'm not soaking with water or spritzing daily, I usually spritz it when I first get a new wig just to loosen up the fibers and activate the permatease. I think you'll love Misty Mocha, it is a gorgeous ash tone and Encore is a beautiful wig! Another good ash blonde or bronde really is Buttered Toast (not rooted). I've shown it in some of my videos. I wear that color a lot! I hope you LOVE your new hair!!! 💗💗💗

The one thing I don't like about Paula Young now that I bought several of their wigs is when they have a manufacturer mistake. I still have to pay shipping to send it back and then wait for so long to get my money back so I wind up keeping the wig even though there are some flaws in it so I kind of hesitate to buy from them any longer
Oh I'm so sorry to hear that you've had this trouble Nancy! I think if you have a wig with a flaw that it may be best to snap a few pictures of the flaw and then send them an email with the pictures. That maybe would help things along a little better so they can get it resolved for you! Good luck dear! 🥰

Yes I do agree, so if you can afford to, it may be better for you to go to a hand tied cap with no permatease or a mono top/mono part wig with a low amount of permatease. I have also found that the longer styles from Paula Young in the heat safe VersaFiber are quite low permatease and low density. Hope that helps dear! 💛😊💛

My natural color now is white and grey, when I had more bio hair it was a more platinum color. Suggestions anyone ?
Thanks so much Barbara! 🥰 I think you can stick with a grey blend or platinum or some of those rooted platinum colors are beautiful like vanilla swirl, soft pewter, frosted root beer, or spun gold. You could also try adding roots using toot spray. It’s not necessary but could add extra dimension. xoxo 💕🤗😘
This one you are wearing is a 6/27/23F? It looks completely brown with a blonde streak and I cannot even see a trace of 27 (which is like strawberry or light red). I am really struggling to understand these colors. Even the name Autumn Blend sounds like you should see some red. To me it looks like a medium to darker brown wig with some strands of blonde breaking it up. I cannot even leave the house anymore my thinning is so bad while I have been burned by so many wigs I have bought online, My bio hair is more strawberry. I cannot find a wig that is a good fit for me. I don't want to have to go darker and I keep finding red or reddish blonde wigs with dark roots. The struggle is real. 🥺😭
I agree with you, this one is a brown with some ash blonde highlights in my opinion. Strawberry blonde is a very difficult color for viewers as it's not common in the wig community to find that shade. In my experience on my wig journey, I opted to go with a range of shades that would work for me and I interchanged them. If they were in the same base or family, nobody every knew that I was wearing anything different. People just truly are not paying that close of attention. You may have better luck choosing a couple of blonde shades and just adding in your own root with root spray. Then you can control the root color better. You could also try some wig groups on Facebook and ask for advice there as there may be others who are looking for the same colors or have already found something suitable, and they can help! 💛💛💛
@@BethsBestHair Thanks For replying back Beth! I grew up in the hair industry with a stylist Mother. People used to bring my Mom their wigs and she would customize them. If you Google "27 color wig" and click images it's always a strawberry type color .. and if you google "30 color wig" and do the same, the color is deeper red. It really should not be that difficult find a red / reddish wig if you look for 27 or 30. Also if 30 is too dark if it is mixed with blonde that might help. I am loving these Paula Young wigs but truly shocked at how challenging it is to pick the right color. PY has at least three swatches that look red or reddish. One is red , one is strawberry and the golden blonde appears in the swatch to be a sunlit version of strawberry (like an end of the summer strawberry). So her reds look beautiful, so I do not understand how to pick the colors because I have even heard YT'ers say that the wig does not match the swatch, after they chose what I would think to be strawberry. It is very frustrating. For any Redheads out there (or wannabe redheads) Raquel makes gorgeous reds ..but they are out of my range right now! Just want to say I just watched you in the Tessa video and you look gorgeous in every wig!

Regarding the swatches, I have found that two different style wigs can have the same color code but they can look completely different because of the way the color is applied, like maybe they do more blonde than red on one and more red than blonde on the other. I think the codes just basically say what colors are in the wig but not how they're applied so in that case, the swatches really are not much help. I have a new wig that PY just sent me that I'll be reviewing as a debut for them since it's a new style coming out in April. I belie it's in Golden Ginger so I'm excited to see that color. Hoping it will be nice this weekend so I can get some outside shots of it in the sunlight too. Lighting always seems to make a big difference in how a wig color is perceived. No they don’t. It’s the cap style that dictates the permatease. The wigs with lace top, mono part, mono top, fully hand tied, etc. don’t have much if any. I have videos on those, Sheer Royalty, Sheer Elite, and the balayage low braided pony are a few without it! 💕🤗👍

If you have thin hair it's really difficult to go to so much volume. We just aren't used to that and it feels unnatural.

If you Google "27 color wig" and click images it's always a strawberry type color .. and if you google "30 color wig" and do the same, the color is deeper red. It really should not be that difficult find a red / reddish wig if you look for 27 or 30. Also if 30 is too dark if it is mixed with blonde that might help. I am loving these Paula Young wigs but truly shocked at how challenging it is to pick the right color. PY has at least three swatches that look red or reddish. One is red , one is strawberry and the golden blonde appears in the swatch to be a sunlit version of strawberry (like an end of the summer strawberry). So her reds look beautiful, so I do not understand how to pick the colors because I have even heard YT'ers say that the wig does not match the swatch, after they chose what I would think to be strawberry. It is very frustrating. For any Redheads out there (or wannabe redheads) Raquel makes gorgeous reds ..but they are out of my range right now! Just want to say I just watched you in the Tessa video and you look gorgeous in every wig!

Regarding the swatches, I have found that two different style wigs can have the same color code but they can look completely different because of the way the color is applied, like maybe they do more blonde than red on one and more red than blonde on the other. I think the codes just basically say what colors are in the wig but not how they're applied so in that case, the swatches really are not much help. I have a new wig that PY just sent me that I'll be reviewing as a debut for them since it's a new style coming out in April. I belie it's in Golden Ginger so I'm excited to see that color. Hoping it will be nice this weekend so I can get some outside shots of it in the sunlight too. Lighting always seems to make a big difference in how a wig color is perceived. I agree! I find just combing the hair up and over the permatease works well to hide it and gives the nice lift and volume! 💛😊👍
Do all Paula Young wigs have a lot of permatease? I've seen some cute wigs on the site but I really dislike permatease.
No they don’t. It’s the cap style that dictates the permatease. The wigs with lace top, mono part, mono top, fully hand tied, etc. don’t have much if any. I have videos on those, Sheer Royalty, Sheer Elite, and the balayage low braided pony are a few without it! 💕🤗👍
