    Hi Denise! Just an FYI for everybody. The brush you showed to put powder on a wig part and the furniture markers. I’ve gotten both at Dollar Tree. And they both work great! So there’s no need to spend a lot of money.

      Denise, do you have any tips for wig wearers when they buy from a Clearance Section from an online wig Company? I have tried a couple of times in the past and it didn't turn out well. I bought from an online legit company. Since then I have been hesitant to try and get a good bargain in that manner. No one made me buy from the Clearance sales but was needing to try and stay within my budget. I see others who get wigs through the big sales and the wigs look great and seemingly no issues with them. Was it just my luck? Thank you kindly.

    I can't tell you how very, very glad i found you! I have been struggling for a looong time with the thought of giving in to wearing wigs. My Mom had very little hair for as far back as i can remember, as well as Grandmothers on both Mom & Dad's. I thought i dodged that bullet because i always had a full, thick head of hair. Until i hit 70. Then it started coming out fast. I finally looked in the mirror one day & questioned why i was trying to make 2 hairs look like 100. A battle i could never win. My only Granddaughter was getting married & i knew that i just had to face the facts that i was a chubby, short, hair challenged older woman of 78. I started my wig journey. It's been trial & error. Until i found you on UT. You are fabulous. You are so down to earth & impart your knowledge & support with love. I wish i had a friend like you! I guess in a way i do. Thank you for being you & giving me the courage to be me. Keep up the good work because i still need a lot of help.
    Sorry this is sooo long.

    Thank you so much for all of this info. I have been wearing wigs due to alopecia for about 12 years and never took the time to learn any of this stuff. I think I have just pouted at the fact that i even had to wear wigs. I just started watching wig videos very recently and have learned so much from you and others. This information is invaluable to me. I took lots of notes!! You look stunning in that wig. Love it and I truly Thank God for you and the information you share.

    Denise you are so good to us at being honest. When you share I do not feel like you are associated with someone and doing this for them. I do appreciate that you need to make money and sponsorship is needed so you can continue to share. You are truly a blessing I wish you lived near I would shower you with love and friendship. You really get the problems, we who have loss need people to stay honest. I feel like I can really trust you . And as a side note could you be any cuter, I mean I haven’t seen you in hair that I didn’t think looked soooooooo good.

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  Год назад +1

      Wow, thank you so much for this! I struggle A LOT with the sponsorship side of this... I want to be seen as trustworthy and honest, it is so incredibly important to me... but I know that for some, ANY sponsorship or gift for review automatically makes people suspicious. I get that!! I just pray for guidance and always check my intentions before I share a video. You are right, though, I wouldn't be where I am today with the knowledge and the amount of content I share without that help. I just pray those who need the information will be able to see my heart, and if I ever come across as less than honest or biased I pray that those with equally good hearts will let me know so I can always stay true to my ministry. Sending you huge hugs!!

    I have worn wigs for 14 years now
    but only recently have found these
    MOST informative & HELPFUL videos. Aside from showing how to
    make a few alterations, they have given me courage to go beyond my
    " comfort zone" re: style AND color!
    Thank you!
    The wig that you are wearing is
    VERY flattering from the front,
    however the back does not seem
    to lie smooth at the neckline...it
    "sticks out". I've had this problem
    on my shorter wigs as they have aged, but NOT usually on new wigs.
    Any comment???

    Wow! I thought wigs were wear and go. I didn't know they were so involved. Just as much of headache as real hair; I think. This video is very helpful for newbies to wigs. I have been wearing wigs for two years and didn't know about most of these products or why you would use them. I am using Jon Renau Easihair Shampoo and Conditioner. My wigs seem to wear out quickly using this product. I will try the Estetica Designs Cleanse & Clarify Wig Shampoo & Conditioner you recommended. Very informative video. Thanks, Denise.

    My first one was Gabor Designer Series Own The Room in Iced Sweet Cream color. I wish I knew I needed to be doing something to the ends of that wig. After a few months of regular use, the ends are dry, frizzy and look bad from friction possibly? Would that product you showed in the larger container restore it? Or is it just done? Its sad how fast it happened. Still learning and I appreciate how much this video has helped! Im going to checkout your series for new wig wearers. Thanks for sharing! Much Love! God Bless! 🙂💖💙

      Hi! I am so sorry I feel behind on responding to comments and questions. When the ends of a heat friendly wig start to get frayed like that, the only thing that will really help is heat. You can use the silicone mix and it might help, but it won't be enough. Here is a video I did on that: ruclips.net/video/zlRObWDdVtc/видео.html
      If your wig is curly or wavy, then STEAM is a better option, here is that video: ruclips.net/video/Ma2dBwjKElk/видео.html
      Sometimes a wig is just too far gone, though.... this happen more frequently with curly and wavy wigs, so it is best to apply heat regularly to prevent that.

    Fabulous video Denise. A few newbie products in there. I used your technique with a Copic Marker to tone down a RW topper and it worked well. The front of the topper around my face looked like a cheap bleach job. I used a grey/taupe colour and it is now wearable. I promised myself to never order RW again but golly you look so good in Real Deal I am tempted.

    Hey Denise ... just catching this video today ... the Simply Stylin products (for me) are so oily, even when I use it sparingly. I do use the Bambu conditioner when needed and I put my wig in a ziplock and wrap the ziplock in a hand towel and then I fill my sink with hot water and immerse the wrapped ziplock into the hot water and leave it for a long while. I will empty the sink and refresh with hot water again. It makes a big difference in the condition of the wig, honestly! Thank you for always giving the best advice and tips and opinions! 😉

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  Год назад

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience and thoughts. I find the Simply Stylin' to work better on some styles than others. I love it on curly wigs, and on the nape of long wigs whether curly or straight. As for the Bambu conditioner, so many people recommend it, but I have struggled with it. I find the smell WAY too overpowering for me (and I've tried both of the kinds that people recommend), and it lingers forever no matter how well I rinse it. And it never really softens my wigs... I don't understand it! The truth is, every single technique and product out there work for some people and not for others. I can't explain why, but after 4.5 years of making videos, I've heard IT ALL! And I know for a fact this is true. Some people swear by using Woolite and Fabric softener to wash and condition their wigs, but I've heard from others that say it nearly ruined their wig... so difficult!!!

      Hi! I am so sorry I fell so far behind on comments, but today I am spending a few hours trying to get caught up. You may have already gotten your answer somewhere else, but wanted to chime in since you asked. I do not wash my synthetic wigs before wearing. Every wash shortens the life of a synthetic so I try to avoid washing unless absolutely necessary... I wear them as long as I possibly can before washing. Sometimes they do need some water to get rid of box hair and perk them up after living in a box... in that case I just use plain water and either spray it down with a spray bottle, or for really bad cases on curly wigs I'll soak in cool water in the sink for a bit and then let it dry.

      I have heard from many many MANY that dry shampoo is the way go to to lessen shine. I haven't tried this because I haven't really had to deal with shine on wigs but so many people say it is a great solution that I am convinced it must be! There are so many different dry shampoos on the market that you definitely have a wide selection!! A bonus is that it can help add some texture to the roots and give lift if you want, I HAVE tried that and it works somewhat. Doesn't give crazy lift but can help with a little if that is what is needed.

    I just found your channel today and you seem so sweet! I must say the ice blonde looks so beautiful with your skin tone and eye color! Your gorgeous! I’ll be spending this rainy day bing watching your channel lol. And here’s the funny part, I don’t even own a wig! For some reason I just enjoy them even though I currently don’t wear one. I would like to get one some day. While my hair has thinned with age it’s not to the point I need to but aren’t they so fun to wear even if you don’t “need” one!

    Wowsa. Love the Real Deal you're wearing in the above video. You look fabulous. That's the farthest thing from a "wiggy" look I've ever seen. Looks so natural. But when I view it on others on youtube, none look nearly as good as your video above. Did you shape it, cut it, trim it? I used to wear wigs when a hairdresser burned my hair off. They all seemed like too much hair, too much permatease, too shiny etc. But seeing you above in Real Deal and now having thin, fine hair, maybe it's time to try again. Real Deal looks perfect. Any suggestions on how you got the cute, straight minimalist look? Thank you.

    How does products get umph back in curls when fibers don't absorb..I know it's the same type of question I already asked. Thanks

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  2 года назад +3

      It really is a matter of reactivating the curl pattern. I don't know the science behind it, but when it comes to getting the curl back (provided it wasn't lost due to heat or damage of some kind) I think water works as well as anything.... sometimes product can help with frizz by coating the fiber and taming it a bit. It won't create curl where there isn't any, but getting the fiber a little damp and then scrunching will amp up any curl that is there.

    • @heywigsister

      I haven't really experienced much of a build up on mine, but I would take a soaking wet washcloth and gently swipe over the area where it is the worst. I would not rub, just go in one direction (from the cap side down to the end). The wetter the cloth the better.

    Hi Denise , I just started wearing wigs due to cancer. You are very helpful. My wigs are not expensive. I find they feel stiff around my hairline and by my ears. Also, I wear glasses and I find the wig puts too much pressure. I can only wear the wigs for about 3 hours without getting a headache. Can you give me any ideas to avoid this

    Thanks for all this great information which is so very helpful. The one product category that I didn't see on here is something to put on the inside of the nape to keep it from deteriorating at the nape or at least detangling the nape. Did I miss it? Is that what the bamboo silicone is for or is there another product that you could recommend for that purpose?

    Oh my!! THANK YOU!!! I especially need to lighten the roots on my Finn wig by Estetica. The one I have is just super dark but the newest one was much better. Also is there any way to highlight the roots? Going back to that one Finn wig theres absolutely no highlighting in the root system & it's such a stark contrast. For some reason I'm not getting notifications from you. I have to just come back every now & then to check for a new post. It's so aggravating. I'll forget sometimes to come back as often without the notification. Again, I sure do thank you for all the info & by the way you can get the Bell Madame from a small shop I believe is in NY & not have to pay the UK post on it. If you can't find it just send me a message & I'll be happy to give you their info. 💝💝💝

      Hi! I have never had an issue, although I haven't flown a lot. I've heard from TONS of women on this and 99% of them have had no issues. There have been a few, though, who said their wig set up the metal detector. One thing I don't know, though, is what type of metal was in their wig. Some wigs come with metal clips and combs, which is more metal than a tiny little stay in an ear tab. If that tiny stay is all you have, I wouldn't worry about it. It is always possible, if the machine sensitivity is turned way up, but it is unlikely. I would travel with a wig without worry, and if for some reason something happens, I would tell the worker that I have alopecia and am wearing a wig, and if just touching my head isn't enough ask if there is a private room for you to take off your wig as your hairloss has been very difficult.

    Hey Denise! It’s 12:53 am in Tennessee. I just watched one of your videos. I LOVE your “down to earth” delivery!!! You covered so much in this video; however, you didn’t touch on my question. I find that some of my wigs are way too shiny when I get them; so much so, in fact, that I am hesitant to wear them because I don’t want people to point at me and say to themselves, “oh, she’s wearing a WIG!” Do you know of a product and/or treatment that will help to remove shine from wigs??? Thank you so very much in advance 😘!

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  9 месяцев назад

      Hi! Dry shampoo works wonders to tamp down shine. If the wig is a brunette I would use a dry shampoo made for brown hair so that you don't get a white caste on it.

      I always say less is more with synthetic wigs. I wouldn't use too many products on them. If they are starting to feel a little dry or frizzy you can spray with a little leave in conditioner like the Estetica or Simply Styling products I mentioned in this video.

    Bambu silicone mix. Can it be used on synthetic wigs? Do you need to shampoo it afterwards or just rinse out then air dry?

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  2 года назад +1

      Yes, a lot of people use it in synthetic wigs. You rinse well and then let air dry. I've seen so many people swear that it revives old wigs. I don't have enough experience with it yo say either way but I will caution you that it does leave behind a scent so if you are scent sensitive I would not recommend it.

    Dear Denise, It is always so nice to see your sweet face and listen to your tips. I am your sister in Christ Jesus and wish we could visit in person.♥. Now for my question: I heard that, if product does build up on a wig (piece out cream, wig wax spray, etc.), that spraying Windex on the wig and letting that set for a period of time then shampooing is a good thing to do. What do you think about that? It sounds like that might be rough even on synthetic fibers. What do you think?
    Thank you!! Kathleen

    • @heywigsister
      @heywigsister  Год назад +1

      Hi!! I have heard that as well... but have never tried it. I've also heard a vinegar soak helps. While I can't say for sure, it seems to me that if you try one or the other, as long as you don't do it often the wig should be fine.... but I really can't say for sure. I think is also depends on what is building up on the wig. So far I've had great success with Estetica shampoo and conditioner but I don't use a lot of product on my wigs. I'm so sorry I couldn't give you a better answer. HUGS!
