2 things: is the plan to heat the sphere over the same fire as the rotisserie?
As the steam leaves the sphere, it's creating a vacuum inside, which could potentially crush everything if it cooled to quickly, like with a hose.
Very cool project, thanks for sharing
Yes, that’s the plan - to set this up at a campsite. I plan to take advantage of a similar vacuum idea for my next project! 👍🏻
Ooohhhhh how much. I wish my dad would have allowed me to ask questions.
He still to this day. Just isnt a talker.. or.. more so. A teacher
You could have tinned the straw first with solder and then applied it to the sphere. Tinning allows the heavy material to get prepared with solder, and it would have bonded quicker.
The port you made to add the water, you could have put a 5 lb pressure relief valve to avoid explosion.
Stainless steel is a tough material to work with. A Tig welder would have been nice or a Mig welder, but what you did was more interesting, especially when you tried the jb weld.
Where did you get the sphere?
Also with steam and pressure the temperature can get alot hotter than 212 degrees.
Tinned the straw? What a great idea! I didn’t even know that was possible! 👍🏻
@@davidrogolI was also wondering where to get a sphere like that?
I guess in this video your dad was the hero.😅
