  • This tutorial assumes a basic knowledge and understanding of British crochet terminology but it’s all fairly straightforward.
Cord ties can be used as an alternative to or in addition to a medical cord clamp.
    Here's the pattern:
    MC
    Rnd 1 (all st into MC): Ch2, 2trc, 3dc, [dc, trc, dc], 3dc, 2trc, ch2, ss
Rnd 2: 2dc into ch2 space, 2dc into trc, 2dc into trc, dc in next 4 st, [dc, trc, dc] into trc, dc in next 4 st, 2dc into trc, 2dc into trc,, 2dc into ch2 space, ss to 1st dc of the round.
    Ch1.
Long-tail chain until strand measures approx. 15cm. Secure and weave in ends.

This is exactly what I was looking for. My daughter is expecting her first baby in May and asked if I would make her one. Thank you so much for the tutorial.

Can you do more tutorials in making more crochet cord ties please?
Star shaped, flower, are you able to make a feather or a dream catcher? Is this possible?
I love this tutorial and my sister made crochet cord ties for our babies last year thanks to your video.
Would love to learn how to make some difference shapes please.

Wow, beautiful blanket too, you seem like a lovely doula. Thanks for the tutorial, i have to give this a try.. i even wanted the heart shape too, hopefully i can do it by july 😅😅 it would be nice to try adding another colour to the border of the heart, but I'm a total beginner.

Thank you so much!! I have a load of lightweight/baby cotton yarn from other projects, would it be ok to use that, or is it better if it’s embroidery yarn?

Hi Lucy, my daughter has asked me to knit one for her baby due next month, do you have a knitting version of the pattern as I’m hopeless at crochet 🤪 thank you 🙏

Thanks for this Lucy! Really clear video and pattern below 👍🏻. I don’t suppose you can do any other charms? There’s so many different ones on Etsy and such like, but I can’t find any instructions anywhere on how to make anything different to hearts 🤷🏻‍♀️. (Not that the hearts aren’t cute, I’m just curious!) x

Hi Diann. Sure, what did you have in mind? Butterflies or flowers might be fun. Give me any idea of what you would like to see and I'll have a go at a few designs.

You are a very talented lady! Those sound cute, but I’m having a boy 😩. I’ve seen teddy bear faces, leaves, hedgehogs, elephants, stars and even Peter Rabbit! You’re amazing, I wouldn’t know where to start lol 🤦🏻‍♀️😩

What is the process to sterilise acrylic wool?

Probably douse it in rubbing alcohol then put it in the freezer. That’s what my mom is gonna do anyway.
