@@joannadickerson9189 It's not. Tunisian doesn't pull through all the loops at once, and it pulls up loops from the free working yarn through each stitch, not the working yarn that's already in the fabric. I don't know exactly what you'd call this. It's kind of a cross between crochet, Tunisian crochet, and weaving. Very interesting and unique technique!
The best strap tutorials i have ever witnessed. Your point to point explanation is most worth it. Thank you for sharing this design. Plz keep sharing more patterns. Thank u soo soo much
I have several purse/bag prosjects without straps because I never found one I liked. This one is perfect, so simple yet it looks so good! It's nice and neutral no matter how complicated the pattern is on your bag. I had to leave a comment on it to state my joy. ❤ Thank you for the video, and your very thorough explenation.
You're an excellent teacher! That was so clear and easily understood because a lot of tutorials don't show the tail or ball end and it gets confusing, but you definitely recognize how important it is to show the orientation of everything so it's easy to follow! Great job and very useful item!!! Thanks for sharing your talent!🤩🤩
I've been looking everywhere for belts that are similar, so I can tie them around my dress in a medieval manner... And this is perfect for that purpose, thank you so so so much for sharing!!
i tried 3 tutorials before landing on this one, the others were overly complicated, this is a simple pattern that provides a lot of support and looks wonderful! thank youu
Thank you!! This may be 2 years old but I've only just found it and it is just the perfect solution for a project I've been working on. Your demonstration and narration makes it so easy to follow as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Thank for being so kind and patient for teaching us,step by step and its easy to catch too. Thank you for teaching new ways of crocheting. May God bless the works of your hands.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I needed a bag strap a while ago & found nothing but i-cord tutorials :( I am *super* happy that you helped all of us out with this simple but effective cord xx
I thought immediately that was more for cording. A lot of entries talk about cord rather than yarn. I’d want to do it with something heavy whether it’s cord or yarn. Excellent skills in both crocheting and instructions. Your instincts are perfect.
I’m sure I echo many other comments, but I feel compelled to join in their appreciation; This tutorial and your teaching style in general is brilliant. You possess an exceptional ability to clearly articulate HOW to perform a skill and WHY we should do it that way. It is and invaluable skill to be able to take a student along your same thought path and solve problems before they arise. Fantastic work!! 💖💖
Hello Sirin, my name is Edda, I’m Italian and live in Australia. I love this cord that you made. Thank you for sharing. I’ll see if I can find some more of your work. You explain it very well. Ciao.
This is first video that I watched from this channel. 5 minutes in and I can say that the lesson is excellent. I think I can actually do this with the clear instructions and example provided.
Your accent is wonderful, and your voice is so calming. Lovely stitch tutorial, it's very well done, I thought I would get confused when you started on the metal, but you went just the right speed for it to make sense. Thank you 🥰
I've been thinking about making some headbands because I can't find anything I like....this looks like I can adapt, thank you so much!!!! Love your voice by the way, it's so soothing ❤
Her voice is very melodic! And very upbeat! I also want to make myself a purse - if I can ever stop making gifts for friends! This strap would be very strong and not stretchy - PERFECT!
You are a great teacher. I love your calm voice. I am one who has to know why. You explain the why not do a certain way. I love the cord. I agree, would make a pretty belt. I love challenges and to make different things also. Thank you!!
I think this is what you do when you can't decide between macrame and crochet. Both can be decorative as well as life-saving skills. Crochet is ancient! Never gave it much thought till I saw a lady follow the history to prove her theory that there a sort of code hidden in the patterns. I think she's decoding the Voynik Manuscript now! Crazy! I will teach my nephews this strap right away! Or maybe send them here,😊❤❤❤❤
Easy but a tiny bit fiddly. Looks very strong and sturdy which makes it totally worth it. I thought it was Tunisian simple stitch at first. Great way to add the clips.
So glad I found your video. I wanted to make a belt, this is ideal. I’m going to try it in thick cotton so it doesn’t stretch. The video is so clear. I’ve also been crocheting since the 60s but never seen this. It is similar to Tunisian crochet but it’s great. Thank you, looking forward to finding more of your videos.
I have never seen this technique before. Thanks for the very good video! It is easy to understand your instructions. I appreciate that you included the instructions for adding the pieces of the fastener! It looks great.
Thank you for this tutorial! I bought a purse and hate the handles so this should take care of it for me. Your instructions are very easy for me to follow....thank you again!
This is the best teaching and explaining in any crocheting video that I've ever found! This lady thinks like I do! I don't know if that's a good thing or not...lol! Good stuff! Thank you...I'm thinking about joining but need to see more!
You are an Awesome crochet teacher, I have never seen these crochet techniques done before, your crochet work is very professional. I am so happy that I found your youtube channel
Dear Sirin, Im from Germany and I love your tutorials very much, thank you for showing and sharing! Especially the way you show it is very good and comfortable for me, I like your voice, sounds so sympathic, and you explain everything so slowly, that even I can follow and understand it very well. Many greetings from Kiel in the very north of Germany
This is really easy and your method of explaining is really great. You explain it slowly and clearly with clear demonstration. I am going to try this. Thanks a lot for your efforts and video.
So this is super cool- this technique is used in a historical craft called nålebindung. The difference is that it was originally done using a single bone needle and not a hook! I really like seeing it used for the kind of things it was originally used for; clothing accessories.
Love this!!! I'm with you. I like to work on new things as well. Keeps everything interesting so you don't get bored. When I get bored with something, I tend to stop for a long time. Thanks for your great tutorials!
I'm so glad this popped up. I have horses, and won't leave a halter on them since it can be dangerous. Been trying to figure out a way to make one from yarn so I can leave a halter on, but not have to worry about them. I'm going to use regular yarn since I don't care if it breaks. I was planning on going to a craft store tomorrow anyway, so I'm going to see what they have in the way of "hardware" I can use. If they don't have what I'm looking for, I'll look in Lowes.
This has inspired me to find a new stitch. Chain and pull loops, pull through like you did. Now, *sc in a third "row", grabbing the pulled through string. R2: *sc between loops using the pulled-through string as the stitches of row 1. R3: pull up loops in sc st. Row 4: repeat forever.
Hi ,Sirin you're a wonderful crochet teacher .I'm searching for belt patterns for my crochet bag. This pattern is very easy n simple n very neat.Thank you for sharing 🌸
Finally! I've been looking for a bag handle pattern for a long time, but so far none has worked for me. Tunisian crochet makes beautiful patterns, but it's uneven on the reverse side and my slider doesn't slide on it. The thermal pattern is unnecessarily thick... regular SC crochet isn't suitable for narrow bands, and the spiral crochet has the same problem as the Tunisian again - it's nice, but you can't vary the length of the finished product. Thank you very much!
I've never seen this method and I have been crocheting since the 1960s. Wonderful work. An answer to a need I've had for quite some time.

You're not alone! I crochet, knit and have done macrame and weaving. This is a brilliant mix!
Me too. It is a different method but easy.
I enjoyed watching and I will definitely try it. Thanks ❤🎉
Não conhecia esse ponto. A alça ficou perfeita. Parabéns. Obrigada por compartilhar. ❤

Same here. I bought chain's but they get heavy
is it stretchy ? like is it strong enough as a bag handle ?
@@ranakonswa2169 i think it'd be dependent on your yarn as well a your tension
Thanks so much for this! I will use it to make dog collars and leashes to benefit a dog ranch I volunteer at for senior and disabled dogs!🐺🐾💖
I audibly gasped when I realized how this worked. That is so clever!
Das beste Tutorial das ich bisher gesehen habe. Sehr ausführlich und deutlich erklärt. Begreift man auch ohne Englichkenntnisse
I did not know it was possible to crochet a belt or strap. This is so helpful. Thank you!

I feel blessed to have found this channel, you are a wonderful teacher...I also like the way your voice sounds when you say "pull up a loop".

The real tutorial. Better than all beginners tutorial I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing and you're amazing teacher. ❤❤❤

If you use a hair elastic to work off of and then attach again at the other end, your hairband will have a stretchy section for getting it on/off.
