How so? She pretty much set the stage for the female singer-songwriter especially during the 60’s . She helped write timeless songs for other artists and also proved to be a more than capable singer in her own right. Name a woman who has been a singer or songwriter over the past 50 years or so, and they will give credit to Carole for being the groundbreaker.

Interesting story about The Monkees. It started as a comedy TV show in America about 4 young guys, like The Beatles, who are a music group trying to make it big. Each episode was highlighted by one of their songs being played while chase scenes and shenanigans pertaining to the plot ensued. They are credited by many to have created the music video even though videos didn't become popular until the early 80's.

IMHO the first "Titanic" movie, starring Clifton Webb and Barbara Stanwyck, was the best. Made in 1953, it obviously didn't have today's special effects nor did it have a huge budget like Cameron did (not "low budget" though with those 2 who were big stars in their day), but it was the better for not being so soapy and syrupy.
