Yeah the second guitar is on tracks. Literally 90% of core bands do this now. It’s pretty lame to me. It seems like a case where one guitarist writes and records all of the parts and rather than pay a touring musician, it’s more convenient to put parts on backing tracks. Funny how much the standard for live music has changed in the last ten years, at least for this genre. If you want to see something really funny, check out Slaughter To Prevail’s live videos. Every single lead and solo is on tracks and the guitarist only plays rhythms. And these lead parts are in all of their songs and they are very prominent in the arrangements. They’ll just be head banging and chugging away while these wild sweeps are going on that nobody is actually playing haha it’s corny af
Some clarification:
The rhythm guitar parts are on tracks. If you watch, Shane is playing all the leads and solos live. When you only have one guitarist, you have to make accommodations for that. I'm sure that, if they had their way, they'd have a killer second guitarist and wouldn't need the tracks.
Obviously a lot of you never had to tour with next to nothing Money from the record company. They couldn’t afford to have a full lineup paid. travel isn’t cheap.
First time I seen a band where the main vocalists vocals are the worst out of the bassist and guitarist.
