Everything that Josh Scogin has done (Norma Jean, The Chariot, ‘68, etc) is absolutely fantastic. Had the chance to see ‘68 back in April and wow, what a performance!
I’ve never heard of ‘68. My mind is blown by this performance and the musicianship. Drummer is insanely good and makes this 3 piece kit sound massive. A 2 pc band done right! Record is on order.
I believe he runs a split signal through both a guitar amp and bass amp, probably with an octave pedal on the bass signal chain. He also employs some non-standard tunings which fill out the sound and are lower (C, etc.)
I love these guys, the end of this set was hilarious. As someone living in a third world country where these bands will never tour, thanks for spreading the love and music with these videos
This is insanely well-recorded and well-shot, and it still doesn’t capture how heavy that guitar feels in person. I just saw them last night without knowing about them and it is an experience, everyone who loves this vid NEEDS to go see them live.
I found this because I searched 'the 68's' looking for videos of a great classic Rock cover band that used to busk in Dublin. I clicked on this because the thumbnail looked cool, I totally wasn't expecting it to be a modern type heavy band, amazing!!
Just saw these guys open for The Fall of Troy and I’m instantly hooked, the craziest stage presence I’ve seen since watching Dillinger, but it’s only 2 GUYS, WHATTT?! Edit: 9:30 is so dope.
@@massaj88 lol that he is. I had the luxury of seeing the chariot multiple times growing up. Their shows were the biggest adrenaline rush I've ever felt when a band took the stage.

I’ve see these guys probably half a dozen times and this video is the closest t thing you will hear to their actual live sound. Well shot and well done!
Saw them years ago and was blown away by the pure raw Punk Rock energy! One of a kind. Wearing suit is so funny with this style of music. I love it! Break the stereotype!
I’m so glad to finally see them on the channel cuz they’re live performances are always improvised and they build upon their songs. Josh has an infectious energy that’s electric and Nikko is so loud and technical that it’s impossible to know who to look at on stage. The audio was impeccable too btw. Hope to see more of them on the channel as they are a national treasure.
i feel like its too surgical to be considered noise tbh. They're very obviously heavily inspired by the tonal concepts used by acts like lightning bolt, but LB always sounds like they're primed to explode while they're playing. This is good, its just way more controlled.
The thing about Nikko that really surprised me is that he is completely self taught. It just goes to show how far pure desire and passion can take an individual.. wow
The fact that the drummer can do that with that minimalist kit just proves it’s not about the gear. Such creative parts. Obviously it’s not in a vacuum…the guitar gives it context to make sense. But still great on its own.
These guys blew my tits off opening for ETID in Jax. It's hard to describe how a couple of guys, who look like missionaries, can have so much energy, but it's explosive.
An incredible performance, but how has no one mentioned that they played a cover fucking Intergalactic Planetary by the Beastie Boys. that made me smile so much.
Saw them open for August Burns Red a few years ago. I was blown away by their sound and energy for being a two-piece. Their second album is my favorite. Melodic and heavy in a way no one else is.
saw these lads over in the uk a couple of years ago. they were that good. i genuinely can't even remember who they were opening for. 6 months later i spent a fortune on tickets for a show these were opening, just for another 25 minutes of this. fuck knows who headlined that show as well 😂
i know this is kind of stating the obvious, but their stage presence is SO DAMN GOOD like these guys genuinely look so cool doing whatever they want to do lmao
Niko Yamada is the man. But Scogin? He is also the man. Most bands can only have one "the man," even if their band technically includes 4 to 6 men. But '68 has a 2/2 man to "the man" ratio.
One of my favorite performances I saw of them live. This show was my 4th time seeing them, and they get better and better each time. This whole weekend was so bittersweet. Great performances but turned out to be ETID's last 2 shows 😢😢
My father was 68 when he passed away. And by freak chance I ended up seeing 68 perform live on the anniversary of his death. They opened for Korn whos lead singer was struggling to perform because he was having breathing issues caused by Covid. And my dad died shortly after getting a major operation that hopefully would have allowed him to breath without an oxygen tank. It was an amazing evening even with the mind f... from all the weird coincidences that happened that night.
I still can't even begin to understand how they made their first album so perfect. Saw them with etid before they split and god damn, it was even better than this video
All done by TC Helicon Voicelive 3, the greatest vocal pedal in the world that is already discontinued, but can be found on used markets. Also I hope you are not rusnya
“I coulda been anyone, I chose to be myself” is the most punk rock thing I’ve heard in a long time. Scogin is the man.
And “she’ll eat you like a full grown disease”, such a cool line. I have no clue what it means, but it’s super cool
Finally a pro shot so we can hear all those ghost notes and other details.
Everything that Josh Scogin has done (Norma Jean, The Chariot, ‘68, etc) is absolutely fantastic. Had the chance to see ‘68 back in April and wow, what a performance!
LUCKY

I saw them live with Sparta a few weeks ago in a much smaller venue, had never heard of them before. They fucking rock.
YES. legends captured by a legend. One of the best acts in the game today. Rock and roll is here to stay
I’m back for my daily viewing of this
Josh is just a natural born showman.
Saw them at furnace fest and they put on one of the most unique, dynamic performances I have ever seen. Legends
Finally a singer assisting in load out.
Lol this is way funnier if you watch the last 3 minutes
😂😂😂😂😂😂
LMFAO
Epic! So cool to see the crowd warm up to 68 as they rocked on. And that’s one of the best endings to a set I’ve ever seen. Josh is forever the man.
such a massive sound from a two piece band. so much talent
Check out royal blood if you like this! They’re a two piece and have similar tone

I've seen them a dozen times, and it gets better every time. Nikko absolutely fucking destroys. Love watching him drum.
One of the many role models for my duo band. Their drip is unmatched, oozing nearly as much swagger as Royal Blood with twice the energy

Want a crazier stage presence? Look up live videos of the lead singer of '68's last project The Chariot. You will not be disappointed.

Had never heard of this band (had heard of Norma Jean, but wasn't a huge fan). I am blown away, this is an amazing performance. That guitar tone!
