    I am excited to launch my most recent eDesign, Alpha-Blocks! A collection of 25* blocks depicting the Alphabet. This is a fun quirky design to challenge your appliqué skills, fabric painting and free-motion quilting.
    In this video I will show you how to paint and quilt your Bear block, how to use Lumiere and Opulence fabric paints, as well as free-motion quilting styles.
    These are not your typical Alphabet blocks, they all have the Godden sense of humour. A is for armadillo with avocado; U is for unicorn riding a unicycle holding umbrellas; R is for rhinoceros reading a book under a rainbow and M is for moose enjoying a martini served by a meerkat! All ages will enjoy these unusual unexpected designs and enjoy the alpha-fun details. Using my Alpha-Blocks eDesigns, create a fun quilt to keep you cosy and warm. Use a single letter block design for a pocket on a child’s bag or use the letters of their name to create a bunting for their room. The possibilities are endless.
    *You might be wondering how I squeezed 25 letters into 25 blocks? Well as quilters we like square numbers, so X makes a guest appearance with W!

    I learn so much from you. Loved learning a bit about where to add highlights and lowlights and hope to learn more about that and shading. I love watching you paint

    Has anyone had a different colour strength on their blocks? Mine look good but compared to Helens mine appear drab and dull. I even added a second coat. any ideas?

    When you are painting with the magenta are you using a pearl white with it?

    • @HelenGoddenQuilts
      @HelenGoddenQuilts  4 года назад

      It is just the Pearlescent Magenta. perhaps yours needs a stir. I tend to drop the words "metallic and pearlescent" in notation.

    Will the paints hold up through washing?

    • @HelenGoddenQuilts
      @HelenGoddenQuilts  4 года назад

      Yes indeed. I use fabric paint. It can absolutely be washed. Lumiere and opulence. Sold on my website helengodden.con

    Do you have any problem quilting through the paint

    • @HelenGoddenQuilts
      @HelenGoddenQuilts  4 года назад

      Not at all. This fabric paint does not make the fabric stuff and plastic like. It is designed for this purpose. All machines can stitch through it with no problem. I have been doing this and teaching this method for years. I have also won many international awards with my painted and quilted creations. Paint with confidence.

      It makes a lovely pop when you stitch on the paint! And I find tension is never as good as fmq on fabric, but i just accept that and move on. It’s the overall effect, not a single stitch you worry about!

    • @HelenGoddenQuilts

      @@gaylemoreland Yes the tension looks slightly off as the stitch stays flat on top and does not bed into the fabric as does a normal stitch As long as its consistent across the work so its all good!
