As a 90s Flash fan, I will never get tired of seeing Shipp playing a speedster.
He's awesome as Jay garrick
Me neither! But now, given Shipp's age, I prefer seeing him play Jay Garrick than the Earth 90 Flash.
Jay Garrick is as Superman as he is Flash 😊😁
@@justingary5322 What does that mean?
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff Reas what I said it means he's inspirational and truthful unlike some heroes
"He doesn't get a vote!!"
*Jay Garrick "He Does!!"
I love Jay Garrick man. The epitome of an actual hero
Wildcat is making me feel like punching him
@Aidaninsask and CBS 90s Flash
John Wesley Shipp; the Flash of 3 worlds.
@@scottd.delano2810 Earth Prime, New Earth 2, Earth 90.
@@the_varunrvel technically, he's the pre-Crisis Earth-3 Flash residing on Earth-Prime; Earth-3, as far as we know, didn't combine into Earth-Prime; he and Joan Williams are multiverse refugees who naturally retain their memories of the original multiverse.
I love it when Jay treats Pat like a member of the team
No matter which Earth we’re on, Jay Garrick is awesome.
Every member no matter the role is important even if they don't fight.
Well, he did grow up in the `30s when Americans actually showed some hint of givin` a rat`s ass about democracy after all!
He got it from barry Allen l/grant Gustin
This was such a sad scene. Jay Garrick was the only one who respected Pat. Phenomenal show, with phenomenal writing
Cause he is Flash and he's not mean and disrespectful to anyone
At least Hourman isn't as jerk like as Wild Cat, I feel like the worst two are actually Starman and Wild Cat
If you look throught Pat's flashbacks, you'll see that every member of the JSA respected Pat except Starman who only thought of him as his sidekick and a driver.
Yeah I respected both Pat & New Earth 2 Jay better than those jerks & hypocrites
Jay the Flash I honor you...
Love seeing John Wesley Shipp back as Jay Garrick again. Especially after Crisis.
It's always great to see him as Jay Garrick!
Man I still love him as the old school 1990's Flash!!!
In Crisis he was reprising his 90s Barry Allen Flash.
I haven't seen Star Girl. Is this the same Jay Garrick we see in the Flash tv show, or is this an alternate universe Jay Garrick?
@@bigdoubleu117 AU, Jay's Earth 3 was folded into Earth Prime after Crisis.
@@airsoul366 yeah which i don't get because barrys dad is the same guy
When you really think about it, Jay was probably the only JSA member who valued Pat's input at this point. Even Sylvester was dismissing his opinion until he went through with the kill. That seriously sucks.
Sylvester is also a lied
Everything to protect my family but never killed his brother in law
Hey he even went after almost dying in hiding like a coward and let brainwave kill his sister and nephew but
He just was probably afraid of hourman and wildcat
I think Johnny Thunder also liked him, and more than likely Green Lantern given what Jade told Pat.
Sylvester tried to do it Pat's way at first but then The Spectery Green Lantern,... got killed
@@mrj4082 nah they just got beat they didn’t die
@@ChrisAtheist what???
This was the darkest moment for the JSA. Poor Pat, trying his best to keep the team's humanity together, trying to be a part of it and getting rejected for having recognition by the majority of the team. The tension between Pat and Sylvester will surely resurface next season thanks to Eclipso's flashbacks
Wdym by next season, the season is finished? Oh damn i didn’t realise
@@darthyoda8170 looks like someone doesn't watch stargirl. The latest episode aired is 2x09. 4 more episodes left in the season
@@nvapisces7011 “looks like someone didn’t watch Stargirl! 🤓🤓” I wouldn’t blame him if he didn’t watch stargirl 💀
It was so nice to see JWS reprise his role as the Flash. It was classic Flash, which fits the theme of this show, and also connects to the larger DC multiverse without really involving the Arrowverse characters directly.
I really hope with this crossover going on the The Flash right now will open opportunity for a crossover with this show. It would be great to see The Flash be shown the way Stargirl is. 👏
It's always great to see John Wesley Shipp play Jay Garrick. But it's not really clear if he's playing the same Garrick here that he plays on the Flash show.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff I'm pretty sure it's a different one. But let's hope that means for a crossover if his character is still alive.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff I think the costume is slightly different, so I assume it's just a different universe. It still was cool and lends credibility to what's come before by having him there.
@@davidm4566 No, John Wesley Shipp even said in an interview that he wears the exact same Jay Garrick costume in both Flash and Stargirl... Obviously, Stargirl and Flash are set in two different universes. Yet, there's still a very simple way it could be the same Jay Garrick. Like I said, I explained it in my video. Please just search for a RUclips video called: "Jay Garrick on Stargirl: What it means for the future" and listen to that simple explanation.
Seem Jay the only one treat Pat nicely
Yeah, I agree. Side note, I'm glad to see in the same costume from the Flash series. Jay is definitely the righteous one in the group.
You are right! When you mention it, even in the earliest flashbacks, Starman was always a colossal prick to Pat! Pat must’ve had the soul of a saint or the conviction of knowing of what he did or what he was apart of truly mattered(justice) in this world, personally I would have told them to f-off a long time ago, especially Sylvester! Now that I recall in all his(Pat’s) stories about the JSA, he always seemed to spin them in the ultra-noble, larger than life point of view, which personally I think is a mistake to Courtney! I believe that showing their frail human flaws or failings as human beings makes the accomplishments of the things they’ve done in their time that much more legendary!
@@aaronsteel853 that was purely a cost cutting messure
wasn't Johnny Thunder also nice to him?
@@WardNightstone Apparently it's the exact same Jay Garrick that's on the Flash. John Wesley Ship has said so. So it's implied that he moved to Earth 0 after the JSA was disbanded
Pat should have left after what wildcat said "i'f i'm not a member then my vote doesn't matter "
I agree. It seems like they did not treat him with much respect.
Wildcat was even disrespectful to Pat in episode 3 too
Pat should left the JSA completely
But sadly he was an idiot who was loyal probably because of Sylvester
@@diganta22 I think in that instance he wanted to keep Pat from getting killed, given the high stakes and the fact that Pat at the time had a young son and no powers/abilities. Not excusing his behavior here, but this is an extremely high stress situation with everyone’s families potentially under fire and Ted probably had an idea of how Pat would’ve voted anyhow.
@@TrackMaster844 There are other flashbacks from previous episodes where they treat Pat the same as this one.
Jeeze that mechanic line is fucked up could you ever imagine Batman telling Alfred "you don't get a say because you're just my butler" ?!?!?
I will say this, Pat was treated like Dirt at times but this is also a heated and desperate situation. I don't think Ted meant what he said, and even if he did he clearly changed the way he thought of Pat as shown in the third episode of Season 2. He did try to cheer Pat up when he said he had a kid to look out for and that there was nothing more important
Nah I'm pretty sure Wild Cat meant it.
I agree that he meant it. If he didn't then he wouldn't have treated Pat as dirt to begin with. It's because he viewed pat as being inferior to actual members he did so hence we can conclude he definitely meant what he said
Soundin like a Trump Supporter when you say it like that...
@@ThePickAndPlay No need to bring politics into this. Especially since I'm not very political.
@@cptboomerang6317 I just meant by all the swerves and turns in logic
The wildcat costume looks really great here, the mask fits so much better in him than yolanda
But as Courtney mentioned when Yolanda put it on, the suit's supposed to tailor itself to fit the wearer; "one size fits all" were her exact words as I recall.
Probably just something weird in the costume department.

You think so? Overall, I liked Season 1 better than 2.
@@Joelikesmoviesnstuff for sure but this was one of the best moments though
@@delgadom07cr99 This was one of the most memorable moments of Season 2. I don't disagree with you there.
I haven’t seen this show, but god I love Jay Garrick. Grant Gustin is a great actor and I’m glad they gave him the role of Barry Allen
, he kills it, but Jay Garrick feels more genuine. He is more grounded, less irrational, can sit back, look at a situation, and figure out the best way to handle it, and has a heart of gold. Jay Garrick will always be the best flash in my opinion
It's all about experiences, JWS as his Barry had his reckless moments, but as a seasoned hero (being both Barry and Jay) he's a lot more grounded and chill, also every Flash is always looking for the way to handle a situation or saving even their enemies, that's the characters' strength. Jay, Barry, Wally and even Bart are the best.
Pat was just the sidekick but valuable to Jay and Starman(even though he hardly showed it but felt it).
How can you believe your own acting in suits like these? The actors are really strong here...
Joel McHale as BOOSTER GOLD would be a great movie
Oh shit that DOES seem like a great casting decision. Who would play Ted Kord's Blue Beetle then?
@@benwasserman8223 Ted Kord. I could imagine Adam Scott from "Parks and Recreation".
I never liked booster gold
But if he comes then he should be in DC legend's of tomorrow after all if I remember correctly he is rip hunters father
Fuck yes
Ryan Reynolds as booster gold is better. Literally go back in time for him to steal stuff then come to present day as a hero. Classic Reynolds character.
Apart of me really hopes this Jay Garrick is the one from the Flash, since he wears the exact same costume, acts the same as him. Maybe in season 8 of Flash he will admit he lived through the ISA attack, and figured he had to leave his earth to be safe or come up with a plan to stop thr ISA
He actually is I believe, because he said he fought in the 40s for a while
Two different universes
I came up with my reasoning for why Jay and Joan were on earth prime: Jay and his wife left earth 2 following the death of JSA and Jay believed that the JSA were not what they used to be, hence his and Joan’s exit from Earth 2
@@michaellucejr.6374 Now after Stargirl's finale, he's back to Earth 2 probably

I really wish they didn't just say doctor fate AND the spectre both lost. Meanwhile spectre's power goes hand to hand with anti monitor. Does not make much sense to be honest
Well, the Spectre's powers tend to fluctuate depending on the event. At his strongest, I've seen him arm-wrestle the Anti-Monitor. Other times, I've seen him struggle against angry magicians. It really depends.
John Constantine once said that "On the occult power scale, he goes up and down more often than a wh*re's panties."

Eclipso is up there. Trust me, this isn’t bad writing. In the source material (comics), Eclipso is up there. Saying Eclipso beat the Spectre is not crazy
@@Generator-gc2jo Also true. Eclipso had the Spectre's job, but he was a little too intense and merciless about it and God fired him.
Sometimes there’s those impossible choices no one wants to make unless there out of options and really out of ideas
that is what Pat and Jay don't understand
So....either we put the dangerous person in most secure prison so he/she will never hurt anyone ever again or....kill

@@assassinsknight well, if you actually knew anything about the source material, you'd know that Yolanda Montez became wildcat after ted grant died.
I find it curious that Sylvester mentioned having a family when he died in the comics. accidentally touched by Mr Bones. it was made very clear that he didn't leave anything behind just Pat (we didn't even see a black lantern of him)
His sister Merri (maybe this was before she was killed by Brainwave).
This is the show I wanted for sure!
1:26 - This coming from the same man that didn’t allow Pat to help out against the ISA because he had a kid and that there was nothing more important than that. Also, I’m pretty sure Jay’s outfit was more comic accurate from the photo in Season 1 than it does in this episode. I know this is the same costume JWS uses on The Flash but still.
With the photo thing, we can probably assume it was taken long before the Eclipso stuff happened considering the JSA disbanded after taking him down and didn’t reform until much later. So Jay probably upgraded his suit sometime between the photo being taken and Eclipso’s attack.
I'm surprised they got the future president to play Pat.
Jay is such an awesome guy.
The JSA are crap in this show. Pat is just as much of a member as anyone of them and the fact that they treat him like trash shows their character is lacking. Starman expects Pat to do what he says but doesn't even stand up for him when Wildcat disrespects him.
Right!!
Absolutely! I would have left them long ago with that constant mistreatment.
It was a broken team if you watched the ep it would make more sense
@Dark Shogun - You clearly haven´t read a single JSA comic in your entire life... Pat being treated like sh*t is kind of a running theme/joke in classic DC canon (like everyone treats Meg like sh*t in Family Guy). Even in the 40s comics he was seen as kind of a loser xDxD
@@LBF522 I would have left them either and joined ISA
John will always be the Flash
I wish to see them fight one day in an episode like badasses together.
I really hope John Wesley Shipp does a cameo as Jay Garrick in the new Flash movie that comes out this Summer.
Man I read about these guys in comic book episodes of justice league and their greatest comic book story ever made called "kingdom come" in the 90s
And the CLASSIC crisis X comics in the 80s it's good to see the classic justice society's wildcat and hour man on tv after so many years keep it up and
I'll look forward to more justice league action every week on the CW
I wish Jay could've been in a few more scenes
A very good scene of the actors for doing such a good job reminds me a bit of an identity crisis. Ironically, here is Flash who is against that. I know it sounds weird but I find it interesting that Sylvester agrees with the action gives him a little more personality of the character than although we will never really know this version of the jsa you do get an idea of Who they were.
It reminds me of Civil War
Wow. I think they look better than when they were on Smallville..
Starman was the only character here that we ever saw on Smallville, right?
This is how you put story over mindless action and monster of the week filler episodes. I never gave two shits about John Wesley Shipp's Jay Garrick character in The Flash series. I'm referring to that show on the CW, I don't even care about THAT Flash show or any of the other CW shows there for that matter. But the way Jay Garrick was in here was pretty good, it was fine. No stupid 'running his fingers across that metallic hat', or silly 'hat tricks', no speed special effects, just one BIG character piece on the JSA of 'old'. Good stuff!
