I like how you noted in the video about the respect of asking a customer to sit on his bike.... I'm sure many dealerships don't have that mindset. I was brought up to be respectful towards others. So I appreciate hearing a dealer speaking about that.
People ask me all the time what kind of bike my Fat Bob is. They seem to think its a Japanese bike of some kind. My first ever Harley and I enjoy the heck out of it.
I test rode one of these, back to back with my 2021 Forty-Eight. My Forty-Eight has 13” Legend Revo shocks, a full stage one, etc. To put it bluntly, the Fat Bob 114 felt like a lot like my Forty-Eight, although it did feel heavier and had better suspension front and rear. I was test riding the Fat Bob for a friend that’s interested in getting his first Harley. Before I rode it, I was a bit fearful I might wind up wanting one for myself, and I do, just not enough to trade my trusty Forty-Eight for it… That’s high praise, as I really love my Forty-Eight…

I rode the fat bob today and I liked it, but can’t find a fat boy to ride. I don’t think it will handle as well as the bob but the fat boy is beautiful. This is my struggle.
Bought my 2921 FatBob last week loving the ride, only thing don’t like is the sound of stock exhaust but changing that with after market. P.S the FatBob you used in this video is the one I purchased, funny how I came across this video ......small world
@@throttleblip9854 I’m going with Vance & Hines big radius pipes. I bought the bike from Timms HD @ Augusta. But the bike was delivered from Timms HD of Anderson. Which was I believe this bike because this was the only one I could find in 250 miles radius
I would do higher bars because I’m all torso. I have the legs of someone much shorter than me. Rinehart exhaust, a tuner to compensate, license plate relocation (new tail light included) cleaner turn signals, side reflector removal, and a saddlemen seat. Then im looking at my dream bike. I like the 21’s tank graphic better than the 22’s too. Sleek, clean, and matches my dream truck.
The coolest looking cruiser there is. I love the drag bars. I love everything about its appearance. Not sure about feet-forward. I ride a Yamaha MT-01 1670 cc engine, drag bars. Cruiser engine, sports chassis. Google it. Maybe one of these would suit me. Good review.

I’m in the market for a new bike early next year. For me, it’s between the Harley Fat Bob, the Harley Softail Slim and the Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster. I think the edge goes to the Fat Bob, but we will see. I love this bike! Before I didn’t like the Fat Bob headlight or the exhaust. Now I love them! I love everything about the Fat Bob 114! I also love the Slim because of the modern yet retro look, and because it is the Captain America bike from Avengers! Then lastly, I love the look and class of the Triumph Speedmaster! It will be a tough choice.

Ive been riding street glides since '09 and that bike jus works for me in everyway.. now with that being said, Ive been looking for something to play with on the side, a run around town, lookin good, feelin good kind of machine and the Fat Bob and Street Bob keep jumping out at me, Im leaning toward the Fat Bob with a stage 2 kit or possibly bumping it up to stage 3 with that 122 kit. I understand your position on not really tweeking anything but can you give a perspective on the stage 2 and stage 3 kits for the Fat Bob and some comparisons? Cost, etc... Im sure somebody in your shop has done these kits and have talked about them
That was a pretty good review You went into suspension but one thing that most of you reviewers don't mention is the length of the suspension like how much travel you get and then how is that travel compared to other bikes

Space below the mirrors is limited, so it feels inconvenient to move fingers from the throttle to the break (and clutch) and second, indicators are hard to reach for thumbs. In combination with the massive torque, reaching for a right indicator in low gear may result in an unwanted "Throttle Blib" and where-is-my-neck situation :-))

Thanks for the sub, Carlos. I'd say if you are comfortable with the bike, then yes. I have seen so many people start out with a smaller bike and "outgrow" it within a month or two. Which is fine if thats what you HAVE to do but if you're comfortable on the bigger bike, buy the one you want to end up on. What are the other 3 you are looking at?
I have a 2020 Fat Bob that has an issue with downshifting into 1st. Feels like the shift lever is disconnected from the transmission. Have you heard of this before? 2 dealers haven't resolved it.
How are you guys able to get to neutral so easily? I have a 2020 slim and when the bike is running I have a hard time getting it to neutral. If I don't push hard the shift lever won't move. And if I put in slightly more force, it just jumps to 2nd. I can easily put it in neutral when the bike is off but not when the bike is on.
I've had a few like that. Someone may be able to offer us some info on why this happens but my work around is let it go to 2nd and just half tap down. Seems to find neutral much easier that way.

New subscriber here because of how well I thought you did this video. I have an (entry level) Harley Street 500 and I've had it for a year and half now. I've definitely out grown it. I know Sportsters tend be most peoples's recommendations from the Street 500 but I don't have the bank account to continuously to work my way up the Harley family. Do you think the soft tail Fat Bob is a bike for well seasoned riders only?
No. Like you said, it gets expensive taking all of the "steps". If you've been riding that long and feel comfortable on a bike I'd have no problem saying you're prob ready for a softail. Does your local dealership allow test rides? Thank you for the sub and the kind words.

I'm really glad I skipped the sportser line-up because I think it's going to be years before I out grow this bike. There's just so much power in the 114 that I'm having to get back to basics in terms of throttle/clutch control. Heck yeah.
With the shortage of inventory I think you’d do well to get one at MSRP and possibly get them to throw in some mufflers or something else around that price range.

The only thing I don't like is the cheap side mount license plate frame set up and the small short rider foot pegs. I sure like to know what options are out there for a better license plate location and bracket and better options for a mini floorboard or something like that to replace those pathetically small foot pegs for my size 13 shoe, otherwise I absolutely love everything else about the bike
Nope. I think the smaller tank looks great on this bike from the side. I never really go super far so I don't necessarily NEED the extra fuel but I know a lot of people do.
Can't see the speedometer with a full helmet without looking down, I already have 2 speeding tickets and cant afford not paying attention to it, I love how it drives but I had to pass

I'd say it's a lot of bike for a beginner. The Sportster models are much better suited for beginners. Fun bikes and look badass.

There are a few companies that make riser blocks that bring the bars up and a little back without touching the wiring.

Somebody tried to tell me there was a 5 gallon tank on the 2021, this was a lie then. This would be my bike saving the lack of fuel capacity.

I felt the same way about the Street 750 and 500 so I get where you're coming from lol. I like the Fat Bob for most of the reasons others dislike it. Kind of a MadMax looking bike.
