- This video is created as a part of my tutorial 'Sign Painting 3D letters' for Lettering Daily. It actually contains three tutorials in one: I will teach you how to draw 3D letters, how to transfer your design onto your canvas and how to paint a stunning lettering piece using sign painting techniques. Great demo, 3 small things, firstly, I would use a straight edge to push through the lettering, you might as well start with straight letters, secondly always snap or draw a line top and bottom, your eyes naturally follow through so it keeps your letters in line, and thirdly, this is just a personal thing but if you pull the mahl stick away from the board a little you'll find it much easier to get round the curves.

Awesome vid. Do you also use 1shot for large background colours or is it better to use something cheaper for large flat backgrounds? Thanks!
Thanks! Depends on the job. If it’s for outdoor purposes 1shot is the best option. For fun panels that stay indoors you can use something cheaper if you like. Although it is said that layers of acrylic combined with synthetic paint don’t match very well in terms of durability.
Thanks for the reply as a beginner i think ill try use an acrylic paint to begin with for now. Are there any acrylics you would recommend for indoor use? Thanks again for sharing!

I wish this video wasn't so fast! The most important thing that I was looking for is how to properly layout the "cast shadow" . That part wasn't clear at all.
