Great job, Jack! I am mesmerized watching. My sister started a balloon delivery service 30 years ago and I designed the logo and painted the truck with all the skill I could muster. It took about a week and came out pretty well so I can identify with your work, and learn quite a few things! Fantastic job.
Rather than wasting my Sunday watching football, I watched your video 3x and improved my life significantly. Thanks for the patient instruction and process detail. Your work is slick, partner.
Thank you so much for showing us the process, really appreciate it. Been wanting to attempt one of these for a while now, and you've given me the kick up the a** I needed to give it a crack. Still new to the game so it's all practice, I'll be starting your colour/color theory videos tomorrow. Excited to get going again, it's so easy to get disheartened and frustrated starting out - for me at least - but seeing you're attention to detail and expert skill has really given me a creative boost and something to strive for. A huge thank you again for the inspiration, all the best.
@@JackFlemingArtistry Absolutely, I'm old enough now to know it was a lack of confidence. Returning to it after a few years break, but the desire to pinstripe and signwrite never went away. I've got enough gear to start now, so no more excuses! Appreciate the reply, cheers.
Absolutely superb ,great to watch pure skill, ive got loads of old saws, im going to have a mess about tomorrow, i have no satin clearcoat to put on first but i'll do and extra clean and hopefully it will be ok! Many thanks love your skill! Dick Searle UK
Thank you very much. If you clean them extra good, things should work pretty well. I like the way the rust looks under satin clear, plus it allows me to mess up and wipe off without staining the surface. Send me a pic of what you do. I would love to see it.
What a great video! The saw is beautiful. I think you’re right that these colors are a perfect combo. Can you do a video showing how to position and stabilize your hands to keep them steady as you pull the line across? Also, I love those flourishes!
Amazing video. Thank you for the wonderful tips. Question for you, how do you go about fixing small mistakes? Like if you were to paint outside your line a bit, would you just wipe the paint off or is there a better way to correct it? Thanks!!!
@oliviabeautyy sometimes I wipe. Sometimes I use a smudge tool. Sometimes I cover it with an outline or something. I am sure that I am missing a few ways. Sometimes you have to be creative.
I lightly sand the surface, clean it, and give it a satin clearcoat before painting. Since I am using sign painting enamels, there is no need for a top coat when finished.
Do you have a recommendation for someone (starving artist) on a light budget for paint and brushes. I’d like to start making some signs for the studio. Thank you and just started following. Inspired 😊
My recommendation (specially for a "starving" artist) would be to invest in good quality tools slowly over time. If you are doing lettering start with only one decent lettering quill. Maybe a Mack series 189 or series 169. Sizes 4 or 6 seem to be a good all around brush sizes. No need to get every color of paint either. White or imitation gold letters on a black background can make for some classy signs. I sometimes make nice little wall hangers on scrap wood that I have sanded smooth, primed, and coated with oil based oops paint from the hardware store. A lot can be done with one brush and one or two cans of 1Shot or another quality sign enamel. Cheap brushes and crumby paint lead to a lot of wasted money and frustrating times. Just my opinion.
I have used it directly on plastic. I don't know if it is intended to be used directly on plastic, and cannot say what the longevity of it on plastic would be.
Wwhwn striping on anything plastic... I would get a clean towel and use cold water. Wipe down the item and let dry. This helps with removal of static and prevents your paint from pulling off brush to your plastic piece.
I really dont remember. I made a pattern from it, so that I can repeat it. Thinking about making another one soon. Will have to keep track of the hours.
You guys and gals make me sick ! You take something they is super difficult and make it look easy. Great eye and nice flow.. thanks for all the inspiration you give. I do no I would have paint all over myself and fingerprints all over the project. Also walls the cat neighbors wife's butt.
That's why God invented mineral spirits. I wouldn't clean the cat with it though. You might ask your neighbor before you use it on his wife though. Just make sure you film that and upload it to RUclips.

I spend a lot of time watching paint dry.

Thanks man.
Very impressive! I did a snow shovel. I do have a saw. I should try that. I guess I'll use paint from spray cans. Great upload thx.
You're work is inspiring thanks for sharing it with us all 😊
Thank you for watching
Amazing! Such a wealth of useful information and tips in a snappy and concise video, and a stunning outcome too.
the shadow we call in "yapan" here in argentina it's a technique that was fully develop to make a deep feeling of 3d like stuff
@matiasvaccaro453 there is some amazing lettering and sign design in Argentina
Very nice👍🏻 tattoo removal on a saw that’s funny😆
Can't say I came up with the idea, just came up with this specific design for it.
Amazing. Love the process. Liked and Subscribed

It don't hurt to take a swing at it. It's just paint and time. Paint wipes off if you don't like it.

Great Video, I like the fact you let us know what brush you are using and how you explain your technic.
Thank you for that feed back. I'm not sure that I always do that, but will try to keep it in mind now that I know people appreciate it.
Great colors!
Thanks. I chose what seemed to me to be the most iconic colors used in tatoo shop signs.
Looks great Jack! 😁👍

Good stuff man!!!
I'm trying. Thank you. I am still figuring out how to make a descent and engaging video. Open to any constructive criticism.
I thought it was quite engaging. Great angle to see how you paint, how you twist the brush etc. maybe do one with the design process?

Fantastic

@@JackFlemingArtistry of course! And that would be so helpful!
If you don't mind, which product did you use for the clear for the shadows?
@slimman437 currently I am using alphaclear from Alpha 6 Corp, mixed with a little black.
Fantastic. How do you prepare the surface of the metal and do you add a lacquer after?
I lightly sand the surface, clean it, and give it a satin clearcoat before painting. Since I am using sign painting enamels, there is no need for a top coat when finished.

Did you prep that saw in anyway? Urs doesn’t look so bad
I usually give them a light sanding, then clean with mineral spirits, then lacquer thinner. After that, I will coat with satin clear spray paint.
❤
Great job Jack. How many hours would you have in something like this?
I really dont remember. I made a pattern from it, so that I can repeat it. Thinking about making another one soon. Will have to keep track of the hours.
Outstanding. Thank you
Could you tell me what the script style is called please? Thanks Steve
It is just the way I do bruah script. No computer fonts used here
What he you use to prep the saw for painting?
I give them a light sanding and a couple coats of flat or satin clear.
Nice. 🇺🇲🍺
Thanks
Grandpa would have hung this up in his shop.
I liked hanging out in his shop. Still have hopes of having a similar fortress of solitude some day.
