So, you think you want a puppy?

I thought I was prepared to get a puppy.
I read books on what to expect, how to train them, puppy proofing, common mistakes, and I had also spent hours watching videos about it too.
But my puppy, Oreo, wasn't what I expected.
So, I had to learn a lot of things the hard way.
Hopefully, you can learn a bit from my experience and be prepared for everything.

I want everyone who’s getting a puppy to know what they’re getting into. It’s not the puppy’s fault and they shouldn’t end up in a shelter due to someone not knowing how much work it is

It occurs to me that I turn into Oreo on the weekend: playing for 30 mins, napping, zoning out and staring out of the window, watching animal videos on the tv

Tbh that sounds very like my lab puppy-she’s a working lines lab and most of what you’re saying rings really true. Show labs are a totally different proposition. Dunno. Anyway. Both your dogs are unbelievably beautiful and cute.
Puppies are extreeeeeeeeeemely hard work but worth every second.

I don’t think so. We got a puppy so that he could play as much as he wanted to and have a buddy around at all times and he’s still just a chill dog. He does give off hard Eeyore energy, maybe that’s what he should be for Halloween 😄
