- It’s official! Dakota and I have been married almost 6 months now! We figured since we’ve had half a year of marriage under our belt, that we would go ahead and film a marriage Q&A video for y’all! We asked everyone to submit questions on Instagram, and picked some of our favs and answered them.
Being married is one of the best things ever, but of course we aren’t experts! All of our answers are just how we feel and what our opinion is based on our experience! We can’t wait to film more of these as we gain what is hopefully years of experience being married!

Anyone else think they should do this with Shaun and Mindy? Thinking about their answers makes me laugh. Also the name change is awesome to keep who you are. I wouldn't get married until I graduated college because I had worked too long hear my name being said as I walked the stage.
Lmao I was just thinking the same thing that I don't want someone else's last name called out when I'm getting my degrees in case I'm still in university when we get married.

You can put whatever name you want on your degree! I got married my last year of college (changed my name) and I put my maiden name on my degree since I did the majority of my education under that name. It’s not a big deal whatever you want to choose but just know that you’re not obligated to use your married name on your degree 👍🏻
Yeah! I think it would be interesting to see the differences in their answers at different stages in their marriages. For example, I think Shaun and Mindy would say that marriage is hard - or that it can be in any case - whereas Brooklyn said it’s not that marriage is hard but that life is hard and that being married doesn’t change that.
I think marriage is hard, whichever way you try to hack it. But that doesn’t mean it’s always hard, just that it can be, whereas Brooklyn has the opinion that it’s not so difficult so far.
I love how you pointed out that marriage itself isn't hard, it's other life things that are hard. I'm not married yet, but I really appreciate your honesty in pointing that out!

Totally agree to the whole “marriage is hard” statement. I’ve been with my person for 11 years now. We’ve been married almost 2 years. Nothing has ever been hard with us. We communicate and love each other and through all these years, nothing has ever felt difficult. I think when you find the right fit, it shouldn’t feel hard.

I agree! I hate when people say marriage is hard. I think marriage takes work, but I think going through the hard parts of life are much easier with your person by your side. The marriage itself doesn’t feel hard at all.

Loooove that you said marriage isnt the hard part! Its the stage of life thats hard. Totally agree. Hated people insisting how hard marriage would be for us or that we were required to learn to dislike each other and would argue all the time. Over 3 years in and no fights yet. Marriage was the best move of life.
I think it's the coolest thing that Brooklyn handles finances 👏🏼😎 Everyone thinks the man should automatically handle finances but it doesn't have to be that way. Awesome, Brooklyn!

My husband and I have an 8 year gap in age, but it’s never felt like it. Also, you’re right! When you find that one person, you know you want to be with that person for the rest of your life. Congratulations to the both of you!

I can't believe that it has been 6 months because Brooklyn I bet being married changed your life and my family has been in Florida and it changed our lives because my family is getting bigger and being an Aunt changed my life. We moved from Virginia to Florida 6 months ago and a lot has happened!!!!!!! Life has gone by so fast!!!!!

You also have to think about the fact that yes he is now in videos but this is still her and Baileys channel. He has also only been in this setting for a year now while Brooklyn has been doing this for over 10 years. So obviously she is more comfortable.

Gonna have to agree with Brooklyn and buying bulk, growing up with a big family it definitely helps with expenses, definitely buy like meat and frozen vegtables in bulk, fresh foods you can buy whenever you need them

@@samanthaaxelrod5141 someone once asked me why I just took my husbands name and didn't hyphenate. My last name and his are both 9 letters each! Imagine having to sign a lease with a 18 letter name plus the hyphen. Yeah no thank you. Plus I was totally fine taking his name.

I don’t think it’s because she was trying to be rude. I know that Dakota really doesn’t like the camera so I think it was her way of helping him out with speaking on camera. But I can see why you would see it that way.

I think when people say marriage is hard it’s because they are at a phase where them and their partner haven’t fully figured out the communication/emotions/ love languages yet and if you can get through that part that’s when it feels a lot easier after that… just an opinion!

When people say marriage is hard they do mean those decision making times I don’t think anyone means it’s hard to just be with one person lol also for people who’ve never been in serious relationships before they met “the one” or aren’t as financially stable or privileged, yes it can be a little tough in the beginning to adjust. You know you have the right one if you both choose commitment, communication and affection. Some couples do have some conflicts in the beginning but conflict just means something you both need to heal within yourself!

I know it feels so good to be with a guy that will walk around the world to make you happy. A guy that you can be completely yourself with, that doesn't judge you and only gives you love. However, I am just not sure it is a good idea to be with a guy because you know you won't get hurt. Of course in the end you want a guy that will marry you and not hurt you, but this can take time in a relationship, and yes, in the process you can get hurt, which is awful. Being with a guy because he loves you so much is a good idea but it can't be the only reason, in my humble opinion. I would want to love the guy just as much as he loves me and be madly in love with him. And yes, I am 29 years old and single (which is pretty common in the Netherlands, so it's probably comparable to 25 in the US or so), but I am still waiting and I know he will come. It might not be my place to say this, but I really want the very best for you and I want you to be the most happy and be madly in love. But of course your opinion is the one that matters, and not one of an anonymous long time fan.
Interesting how she said "some people" don't live together before marriage. I'm guessing she's implying that they did then.
