This is EVERYTHING I could have asked for! What an incredible show Luke! You and Brian are great together ❤
Haven’t seen it yet but I’m rooting for The Brutalist simply because it sounds so audacious and grand and on a tiny budget plus it sounds like it’s in my wheelhouse.
@@richardwhite2921 it really is such an impressive accomplishment in the world of cinema. Very rare film were treated to these days. X
What a great colaboration ❤ thank you 🙏
My two favorite prognosticators. Excited to watch this!
@@mr29 awwwww was about damn time we did something together. Sure it won’t be the last either 😁 x
What a collab! Great work!
Great team-up, you guys ! 💪🏻❤️
I'll be rooting for Fernanda Torres
@@fnandaabreu can’t believe I managed to miss that one in Venice. Hopefully will catch it soon x
@@LukeHearfield i'm excited to watch it. my country is really proud of her 💚💛
More. Of. This. Please!
It's like a Marvel Team- up with you two!
LOVE THIS COLLAB....also love your hard work. it never stops love that
Love this colab! Now I know what movies to look out for the next few months; thank you both and look forward to your award coverage!!
You two are my go-to critics for film reviews and in my mind I see you two collaborating someday so you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I am to see it happen! The day has finally come!🙂
Love the collab! Absolutely cannot wait to see Anora
My current pick for Best Animated Feature at next year's Oscars are:
1. Inside Out 2
2. The Wild Robot
3. Mars Express
4. The Imaginary
5. Memoir of a Snail
Rooting for Brody 👌🌟🎬
Great video, thank you so much for the in depth conversation. Im from Hamburg Germany and on 26.09 the FFH24 starts where i will be able to watch The Seed of a Sacred Fig, Emilia Perez, The End, Cloud, Bird, The Girl with the Needle, ANORA, The Aprrentice and the Room Next Door. (+many more smaller ones) Cant wait for all of these experiences :))
@@roman-cq1si you’re in for some great cinema in the next few weeks. Especially with Anita. You’ll get to see some of my most anticipated movies before me; seed of the sacred fig, the end etc 😁 Thanks for watching. X
I was waiting for you guys to say something about 'Sing Sing'. You didn't mention Colman Domingo when you were talking about best actor in the end so do you think his chances (and the movie overall) are slipping?
@@reles5289 so this was just about the films we saw at TIFF and venice but I’ll be doing a review for sing sing on the channel in a few days x
Any chance “Challengers” gets any tech noms?
Like editing or score?
“Challengers” was easily my favorite movie going experience so far this year. Such a wild ride. This is probably due to the fact that I saw the film with a very animated packed house.
With that said I’m kinda nervous when I do inevitably watch it again, at home by my self most likely, I won’t like it as much
@@waynedexter yeah given that Queer is so polarizing we could see the pendulum swing back to challengers. X
Fernanda Montenegro for I’m still here!! ❤❤
I love The Brutalist! I think it's going to win the Oscars for best picture.
OMG HE LOVED BABYGIRL, TOO. CANNOT WAIT. But why didn't Brian do a review of Babygirl?
I get why people like Anora. I truely do. It is one of those films that come along every few years, that just hit a different spot. For most people... not me this time, because the whole time I felt like "This is what they trying to do, but please stop trying to do that!". And it was so overwhelming that I felt nothing for the characters anymore and that sucked! IDK who fault that was. It felt to on the nose as if someone said "Oh look what we did here, look at this, what about that? Huh, what are you thinking about here what we did here?" I was expecting the director to pop in any given moment saying "See what we did there?" *notch notch, wink wink*
Filmhead Family! 🎉
@@GareBare90 hehehehe awards nuts family I guess 😁 been a long time coming x
Adrien Brody and Ralph Fiennes are definitely secure their spots for Best Actor Nomination. Mikey Madison is also definitely secure for the Best Actress category as well.
Fernanda Torres is extraordinary in "I'm Still Here" she deserv a nomination!
BRIAN AND LUKE NEED TO ROOM WHEN THEY BOTH GO TO CANNE
@@gabrielcastaneda9700 along with Oscar expert and brother bro? That would be a fun house for 10 days. X
@@LukeHearfield yass also if you throw a substance viewing party at home when is on blue ray. May I suggest activator shots
@@LukeHearfield also do we know where mubi is campaigning Margaret Qualley for the substance
I'm rooting for Angelina Jolie 🔥🔥🔥
@@beqamarsagishvili6988 lotta love for Angelina in Maria ❤️ she’s got the goods to win. Both Brian and I are currently team Mikey Madison for the win but we shall see how the race unfolds x
Go Amy Adams!
@@tonyg76 i'm not fan of that dog film
@@beqamarsagishvili6988 Ok. I will see what I think when I see it.
Is there a talk about the Substance? In what minute? Plz, someone? 😁
Blitz is coming.
If muni submits the substance in comedy musical I could see it and Demi being nominated
I feel there’s no front runners this year like actress is up in the air and picture I do hope Angelina Jolie could still win but that Amy Adams film oh boy
"We've known each other a while" = "We slept with each other a while back" in gay lingo lol
Thank you luke and brian about convrsation ♥💛♥
Anora
i feel the film kind
entertaning film
They have good story but they focus about joy more than the searies supject
They must focus on line of complcated realationship more than the enjoy btween two charachter and cuple
Becase in first choice the film will be stronger and releastic and they discuss soial realtion and make tragedy film
But in another choice they let film be funny for audiance to enjoy it
So the film enjoyable more than amazing.
I hope luke you make maria spoil review about details of film♥♥♥same joker review
is nicole kidman better in babygirl than the paper boy?
Nicole is a bad actress,as stiff as her botoxed face.
I had the same reaction for TIFF winner American Fiction last year. I thought it was smart but not awards worthy. Life of Chuck was great but not Oscar worthy. I think audiences @ TIFF just wanted something uplifting.
@@annebrunski7123 it’s made me want to watch it even more now. I’ve heard something about an iconic dance sequence which I wanna check out. But the fact so many people aren’t sure it’s a BP contender is fasincating. Maybe it needs time to catch fire, x
@@LukeHearfieldAlso, needs a distributor. I want to see it too.
The sex in Poor Things is overrated. All brief sex scenes.
