I really never got those people who said Page is sloppy. He wasn't sloppy. He just had a style that all guitarists envy, and a lot of people got jealous of him. Not me though! I have remained a loyal fan from day one, and I still say that he is the very best guitarist the rock genre has ever seen.

No doubt that Page was a good all round session guitarist but If you take a listen to the works of Bert Jansch or Davy Graham recording a few years before, you'll see that Page was not an innovator, rather a copier of styles and tunings and ultimately even went on to steal one of Jansch's pieces, Blackwaterside, almost note for note.

White summer was a staple song in the early years of Led Zep listen to live at the BBC in 69'. Saw Jimmy in 88' in Manchester Apollo on the Outrider tour great to see him but 15 years too late as the drugs cut mainly alcohol had taken its toll on his playing which was such a shame. Still a legend in his own lifetime, saw Plant same year on Now and Zen tour in my hometown of Liverpool and he was brilliant just wish I'd seen them together 15 years earlier!! We can all dream.

I think some people have been confused by the RUclips video title. This interview with Page was a small part of an Arena special documentary on the heavy metal genre as it was in 1989. They traced the history of heavy metal from its origins/birth in the 1960s to the present, which was 1989. The term 'heavy metal' or 'metal' has evolved since then too. They interviewed lots of people in this documentary not just Page.
