I've got seven of these including some fire package editions. I only bought the ones with the combi bracelet as I'm not keen on resin bands. They were my favourite style until I bought some WVA-M630 's which I have eleven in several colour variations now. I take off the uncomfortable stainless straps (bulky double security adjuster "buckle" clip) and replace them with colour co-ordinated 20mm canvas quick release bands from "Barton Watch Bands". This makes then so comfortable to wear, easy to adjust for hot weather expanding wrist, and look brilliant with interchangeable colours to match my watchface and my mood of the day. They are also extremely light at only 33 grams. Best watch ever.
AWG-M100SBC-1A , this is the one to get. I got 3 of them from Japan, because my wife and my son both fell in love with the first one I got. It is one of the best of its kind and I do have some other variations
I bought 2 days ago the GAW-100B 1A 52mm for €99,- all in! Can you tell us where you got the bracelet? Mmmm i checked, but i think the bracelet does not fit.
Another interesting video Greg but at 46mm I think a little on the large size for me, and I tend to go more for the squares, just ordered a GW-B5600SL-5JF direct from Japan should be here any day, like you I'm not a fan of neg. display, and although I like the bracelet on this watch I'd stick with the original strap it looks good....stay safe
Anyone had issues with hand wont move even when i try HSet mode even pressing forward / reverse button nothing happens, all other functions appear to be working fine.
Hi, Greg! As you are foremost expert on this model let me ask you a question on the battery. I recently bought second hand the most ubiquitous version on a good deal, but the battery was almost dead- only CHG flashing on the dial. I’m trying to revive it for the past five days by letting it get a lot of sun. It shows M now but falls back to L when I start fiddling around with the watch. Do you think it will ever recover or I might have to get in a new battery?
Do you have any 1st gen AWG models? IE the non "M", with 5 band? I have the awg100 with positive lcd, both white hands. And the AWGM100B you have also. Great form factor watches, best ana digi for the price regardless of brand
Did you splurge on the awg-m100svb-1 (blue-purple bezel/face & turquoise hands/markers -- made for japan)? If so, are the hands and markers luminous? I can't decide between that one and the awg-m100a-1a (lighter blue bezel) which i believe is in the middle of the bottom row at the 25 second mark of the video.
You're right. I have the AWG-M100A-1A. I do not have the AWG-M100SVB-1. According to Shockbase.org it's part of a "Virtual Blue" collection which includes four other G-Shock models.
@@GoodTimekeeper i also posted a similar question on your "all i know about the GAW-100" video. I want the markers AND hands to be luminescent. Is your blue GAW-100 the north american (-1a2), the european ( -1a2er), or the japanese (1a2-jf) version?
@@GoodTimekeeper sorry for the confusion...I've been watching so many videos and comparing models that I got your videos mixed up...finally clarified the luminescence issue through some of your other videos. I think I like the features of the gaw-100 more even though the markers on the face arent lumenescent.
Greg, could you please tell me how good is the back light on this model you reviewed, as you didn't show it. Some of these have a poor back light and some have a great back light, so is it great or poor. Please just send me a quick short reply, it would be much appreciated. 👍
I have one of the awg-m100 models, and I hate to tell you, the backlight only illuminates the hands, not the digital screens. This really gets to me, it's like they just won't release one PERFECT ani-digi midsize with everything I want on one watch...good hand and marker visibility, positive display, atomic and solar, backlight illuminates both hands AND digital screens. Yes, some of the larger models have all this, but I have a small wrist and they look goofy and are uncomfortable on me.
The GAW-100 is a larger version of this watch with a much better backlight. But there isn’t as much variety in the available colors. There is also an all metal G-Steel version. I have the GST-W110D with a white face and the backlight makes it really sparkle.
I like the bracelets but for these AWG-M100 watches there's no inexpensive alternative to the genuine Casio combi bracelet (other than using Casio's stock, resin watch bands). Meanwhile, it seems like a lot of third-party alternatives are available for G-Shock Squares. I found the best deal on a combi bracelet for the AWG-M100 from Watchway.co.uk.
I can’t guarantee someone else will be honest but I can tell you my experience. I have purchased dozens of watches on eBay which were sold and shipped by Japanese sellers. I try to go with a seller who has overwhelmingly positive ratings. It’s often easy to find someone whose positive percentage is above 98% or even 99%. So far I have never had someone sell me a counterfeit watch.
@@GoodTimekeeper I ended up ordering the AWG-M100SBB-1A from an ebay seller in Japan with thousands of high reviews. I really love the watch and it only took a few days to get. Brand new in the box with tags and paper work. Sweet! Thank you!
I have one model of these… night light is pretty bad for me. There are much better Casio for reading the timing at night. But anyway for the price great watches.
Your video regarding Quartz accuracy involved "time keeper" radio watches that grab an atomic time to correct. It's complete rubbish. Any NON Bluetooth or radio reception "corrective" watch is nowhere near 1 second a month off. Every quartz watch is always 1/2 a second per day off. 15 seconds a month is THE industry highest standard. But it's still nice that a ten dollar piece of plastic junk is way ahead of the mechanical $50,000-$500,000 Swiss FOSSILS that can only manage 2 seconds a day off! +-60 seconds a month for 100 grand? What a timepiece. Oh please. Subscribed from Australia. PS. The latest Seiko Solar movements are closer to 10 secs/month at worst. However they are not ten dollar cheapies. Take care sir!
When I did month-long quartz accuracy tests I specifically turned off the radio receivers on any "Wave Ceptor" or "Multiband 6" watches during the tests. My watches like the all-resin "Casio Royale" really did stay accurate to within 2 seconds for the whole month and my Duro also had similar accuracy., without any help from atomic clock broadcasts.
The positive of having a stealthy look without the horrible negative display. Love it.
yes , it´s awesome!

My favorite G-Shock model!
Gold looks great, easy to read and color stands out.
I think that the existing band is attractive with its black buckle. Plenty of other options in your collection to take the upgrade band.
Agreed
Damn. You need a G-Shock intervention! 😂 I ❤ mine too
A solid 12 step program! 😛
Another great video.
I’d be tempted to leave the original strap on. It looks fine.
Newbie Casio fan here. I just purchased the MTP4500D-1AV Pilot Chronograph. Just as awesome as my Duro.
Fun to see how much you like this series. I think you need a white one! The tricolor is pretty cool, AWG-M100TR-7A.
Convinced me to get this exact one. No regrets!

I would leave the original band and wear it for a while, I'm pretty sure you will like it. I have 3 of this gshock watches and I really like them.
I'm a simple man, I see a Greg Anderson episode, I watch, like and (double check) I've subscribed.
Love the g-shock collections.. They can get addicting 😂😁
I love the all black one with positive display that you got from Japan. My only concern is how does this series look on my 6 inch wrist 😂
Hi Greg. Leave the watch as it is. That band is nice
Excelente video. 👏👏
Quick question…
Where are all the boxes that you received them in? Do you keep them all?
All the best.👍🏾😉🇬🇧
They do come with that nice tin :)
