Hey guys thank you for the explanation. I grow auto flower only (currently) I am a new grower with not much experience. however in my brief experience with Autos, its very difficult to correct a deficiency quickly with organics. In my current grow my girls developed a cal/mag deficiency in week 5 just prior to bloom. i used a synthetic supplement that worked amazingly well and quickly. i continued with the synthetics for bloom and flower and my girls look better than ever! So i would say that synthetics can be a life saver. Thanks again.
Yo Scotty! Just wanted to tell you how much I appreciate all your videos. New-er grower here and have utilized many of your philosophies. Great work my man, keep it up!
Scotty I’m not touching this comments section 😂😂I’m organic grower for life 😂😂 I see what you did here ☮️☮️🪴🪴I think the best way to grow is the way you know how to grow too make it to harvest ☮️☮️
I agree, I tried organic twice and it was a mess. I did not have the knowledge and it was all my fault. I tip my hat to those who grow organicly and succefully, I would like to grow organicly one day, but after 40+ years with bottles, I'm not changing. Cheers
wonder why plants grow far bigger and faster with “ synthetic” nutrients . I’ve done both side by side and the synthetic in the hydro set up destroyed the organic in soil in every way .
When I hear a synthetic grower say organic taste better I'll believe it. Seems biased with organic growers saying it's the best terps. The best terps come from the healthiest plants period. Regardless of how it was grown imo
hea scotty luv the vidieos looking at your recharge and grow dots but i grow outdoor according to directions i need like 700 dollars worth ive got 14 boxes about 50 gals of soil each do i have to use so much
Organics get broken down into what synthetic nutrients are , the exact same molecules/minerals, synthetic is basically just pre digested plant food.. like humans we eat food and it’s broken down into the nutrients our body can absorb.. synthetic nutes are like multivitamins to humans , it’s easier to become overdosed with vitamins..organics have actually proven to be bad for the environment also! Because there’s a lot of left over phosphorus which gets dumped into the environment !
I’m using organic nutrients for my outdoor and I have my plants in 100 gallon fabric pots. My tallest plant is over 9 ft tall as of this week. I started using synthetic nutrients when I first started growing but I switched over to organic because I like the benefits of the slow released nutrients. I feed them once a month and water a few times a week. Makes my outdoor growing a lot easier and my plants get huge.
Heavy metals are more likely in your synthetic pgr than in your organic grow folks that's just an fyi. It's a great move educate yourself in botany and horticulture before starting your grows. As long as you are diligent the organic grow is smoother tastier and healthier and will teach you about growing FOOD and not just buds. I'm organic all the way!
The nutrients that are uptaken are the same on the ionic form whether it’s organic or synthetic . Plants can only absorb nutrients in a specific ionic form .
I use organics in flower mainly. First month in veg my soil feeds my plants, ill feed a couple times to get me through the rest of veg and 2 week into flower, then i let it chill on cruise control for the rest of the grow letting my organics do the work. I top dress day 1 or week 1 of flower, and then again week 3 or 4 of flower. I dont really bother with teas or anything. Used recharge for the first time last grow. Thinking synganics is going to be my go to in the future. Been growing for over 20 years around 10 indoors used to be all about sythetics but i get such clean smoke from my organics 😊 feels like youre inhaling air until it expands in your chest haha
I grew hydro for years I now grow organic and love it more. It’s all about soil building and I can still use synthetic if problems come up they don’t add to the microbial but they don’t take away either. You touch on all the answers have no fear and go for it!
Excellent explanation, as usual. I'm an organic grower (currently). Here's a question maybe you'd be willing to tackle: It's been said that there's no need to flush with organic growing, supposedly because the plant somehow 'knows' it's time to stop taking up nutrients as it's going into senescence. Supposedly it's different with synthetics. This makes no logical sense to me. When I grow organically and I DO flush, I measure the runoff after each flush cycle. The EC that I measure after the first flushing is higher than when I grew synthetically! The next flush has a lower EC, then lower, etc... EC meters only measure ionic compounds, not organic. SO I do not see the logic in concluding that organic growers don't need to flush. Also: growers can't even agree on what flushing IS. Some folks think that just giving water for the last couple of weeks is flushing. When I use my toilet, I don't consider adding water as flushing. I consider flushing it as flushing. If liquid is not coming out the bottom of the pot, how can it be flushing? RUclips grow channels often say that there's no difference between non-flushed organic-grown weed and flushed hydroponic weed. Again I say that these statement defy logic BECAUSE of what you say about the plants only being able to take up ionic salts. I'm thinking of switching back to synthetic nutrients because I feel that the information about organic vs synthetics that is being fed to growers is in many cases deeply flawed and sometimes just downright false. Scotty, would you be willing to address these apparent contradictions in a video? Or even here in the comments? Please forgive me if you already and have and I missed it. Thanks bro. P.S. Will we ever see Hi C, the man with all the questions? OR, maybe keeping him out of sight helps us viewers imagine ourselves as the questioner ;) I love the format :)
@@ScottyReal420 Thanks for the link. Sorry to harp so much on this one topic but it's just one thing I can't seem to wrap my head around (yet). Here's where I may be going wrong: my assumption is that soluble ionic salts in the soil will dissolve in any water applied, and therefore be taken up by the roots. I know that a plant in senescence takes up less water- therefore less solubilized nutrients. BUT, can the roots selectively take up water but NOT the available dissolved nutrients? This is the part I just can't seem to grasp.
I do both. Some plants have grow dots, some build a soil. My organic hindu kush auto is starting to flower. Using colodial silver to make more seeds as this was my last seed.
I grow outside with organic soil,, in the uk, takes from march till October for the plant to reach maturity and to crop,, don’t mind waiting for it’s natural development to occur, so one day four days is fine for me,, make my own tea, compost and worm castings in a bag, with RO water fish bio bizz concentrated fertiliser from Holland, and molasses with air pump and stone over 24 hours,, works a treat, epsom salts if needed, and making sure the PH is within the 6.00 - 7.00 limits, done this every year, pukka results. Love your videos,, always a pleasure to watch, 🙏🪴🇬🇧
I love growing cannabis. I grow it dwc synthetic. Coco coir synthetic. In homemade compost / coir mix with organics. Dry organic amendments, liquid organic amendments, both. I'll do "synth-organic" mixing them in the same grow. Love em all. I legit use Recharge in everything except dwc, and it absolutely has a positive impact on the root zone every time. I admittedly will only grow food with organics and that's not because I'm afraid of the synthetics I use but because I grow food to save money, and organic produce at the grocery store is always more expensive so the way I look at it, I might as well go for the top dollar stuff in my garden at a fraction of the cost. It's also much easier and cheaper to keep recycling soil using organic inputs.
Plants don't care about the end product because they're the same, they do care about how it's delivered, would you rather have a buffet that you can choose what you eat or have someone sitting there holding your mouth open while someone else force feeds whatever they want down your mouth
Have to remember the plant survives on the Worm casting whilst the dry ammendments are broken down by the microbes, and any deficiency can be fixed with worm casting whilst the 444 or 284 breaks down. It's not such a risky process like some people are led to believe.
I do. I'll give it some worm castings every 3-4 weeks to give some microbial life to my medium. I'll give it some guano once in the middle of veg. That's it though.
@@jeroid123 I'm thinking all organic medium, but sth like synthetic foliar spray or even in the soil from time to time? Also does synthetic fertilizers kill your soil?
Scotty, I use both and even mix components in the same pot. I use your Grow Dots in my “Super soil”, dry amendments in reused soil, and synthetic liquids in it all, depending on what works best. Outdoors in our gardens we go organic by amending and feeding throughout the year. EVERYTHING gets myco Recharge!!
I consider myself an organic grower, shoutout to Jeremy at Build a Soil and Tad Hussey at KIS Organics, for my primary garden. I mix my own soil, have multiple worm bins, compost bins, and have spent enough money on Organic amendments to buy a small car. I have used Grow Dots in an Earthbox as a side by side with my own soil. The Grow Dots plant started slower, but finished about the same size as my regular soil. Both tasted good, but my organic had a slightly higher yield. I also use GrowDots in my "Mephisto Mini" garden with mixed nut containers, coco, pumice, wicking rope, and Mephisto Freebie tester seeds. I can get about an Oz. from each plant just by filling the bottom of reservoir tub whenever it is dry and adding in some Recharge, Microbe Complete, and Bio-Phos once a week. Is one better than the other? No way I could get an Oz. out of a nut container using my living soil, but I love providing a buffet then letting the soil and the plant decide what it needs. Is one tastier than the other, I prefer the flavors and natural senescence from the Organic, because I just do. I have spent a ton of money being organic, so my mind must justify that as better. If you gave me two joints and asked me which was organic and which was synthetic, I could probably get 60-70 % correct, which honestly isn't much higher than randomly guessing!
I bought something organic with the usual fish meal, chicken poo, alfalfa meal and kelp, and mycorhhiza. I'm trusting the source, but i think i found a winner. The plants are very happy.
the people who grow organics just want an easy way to grow without always being in the tent, usually we have done our stint with liquid fertiliser and now we opt to have an easy method growing especially if the lifestyle is busy
On my third organic dry amendment run and I must say it's absurdly easier than any bottle line! I started on GH like most and went to nectar of the gods shortly after...it works terrific and I loved it, but the dry gaia green and dr earth products have made it straight tap watering only and results have been similar!
i plan on doing the same thing. From what i've read and seen online the grow dots are time released so you shouldnt burn your plants. Scotty seems to stand by it, im gonna put it to the test as soon as my dots show up!
I manage 750 outdoor plants. I use an organic base, but i do add synthetic sylica, nitrogen, magnesium and calcium at certain periods. Our grow cycle is nearly 8 months. Giant ass trees.
Scotty! I LOVE ORGANICS! 💚 iCan Organics + Recharge for the Win!! ⚡🌱 Dry amendments do need to be broken down by microbes in the soil but i gotta say Btw there are also liquid organic nutrients that will be absorbed quickly! Organic liquid fertilizers are derived from natural sources and are an excellent choice for organic gardening. They contain nutrients like phosphorus and nitrogen that are immediately available to plants in my research! Hey, synganics is the best of both worlds too right!!
Getting my recharge. What does Scotty Real suggest as best practices with recharge. I am redoing my corn bed. Using worm bed dirt and brown carbons from the yard compost. And recharge. Don't think I need any bio char as black soil now. I have some worm leachate to hit recharge with. Like a shoot of nos on a car. I also plant purple pole beans and squash. With some red clover that grows more red nodes that give bacteria a place to live and fix nitrogen. In my organic plan I am calling recharge inoculant. Is there a kind of wood recharge prefers better? I even tried using boiled rice to culture what was in soil by great growing spot and move it. I hate buying inputs and sprays. I am a cheap ask. Your welcome real growers. I needed more inoculant any way. Saved recite will write off on taxes too.
Grown using both 💪, i love the extra control i have using synthetics 🤙 but i much prefer the terps from organics, both have pros and cons so as long as you are happy with your own end result then other peoples opinions dont really matter, im currently growing using Remo nutrients which is a combination of both organic and synthetic.... Synganic i guess 😉 but i feel im getting the best of both worlds, that extra control over my grow but while still maintaining those organic terps 💪

Great episode Scotty. I’ve used recharge for a long time. I recently stopped using it cause I don’t see the response in my plants like I used to when I first started using it. 🤷 I’d hate to think some things got changed in the recipe. Cheers bro.
Been growing 25 yrs i love both styles . Organics can be easy once u have a working plan . It also can be very frustrating at first or winging it . I will say the key to organics is learning how fast each element or component takes to breakdown. (AKA become available to the plant)
I have an organic hobby farm. That’s how I started. But my inside grow room is all going to grow dots. It’s all about making it easier for me. Fuck cancer! Great show again Scotty!
Both of our formulas of Grow Dots will get you from Veg all the way through harvest. The difference between the two is the amount of veg time. the Blue bag is good for a 4-6 week veg while the green extended veg is good for a n 8-10 week veg.
I use "organic mixes" and Dr Earth's amendments. I started with Miracle Grow soil, once and only once. Since then I've mixed my own, and more recently Ocean Forest grew my best harvest yet, with Dr Earth's Flower Girl for the flower stage. I intend to keep growing that way too. The idea of mixing nutes from bottles and worrying about ppm and pH sounds like a lot more hassle than what I'm doing. But I don't judge anyone for how they grow. Recharge and Stash Blend are both awesome to use in organic mixes and I use one or the other once a week, alternating or a little bit of both. Stash Blend has some different stuff and I want the diversity.
I used to be organic oriented with growing. Now i use synthetic bottle nutes and I've tried grow dots recently. Probably never going back. Too much of a headache to create organic teas and composts.. plus they're stinky..
I’m organic using pro mix with Gaia green. I’ve never had a deficiency ever ( knock on wood) ….I’ve burned quite a few seedlings though by using too hot soil to start a seed. I just upgraded to a 4x8 and I’m trying my hand at synthetic nutes. I’m going with drip hydro for nutrients cuz they seem to keep it as easy as possible, and cheap! I’m still gonna run half the tent organic. I’ll never give it up.
My first grow was synthetic and even though i flushed it it was too harsh to smoke. Went organic on grow 2, 3, 4. On grow 5 now. Natural sunlight compost tea, extracts from whatever weeds are in my yard. Never have any insect problems.
I used to grow organic then went hydro with Advanced Nutrients. Now I'm in pro mix using Advanced Nutrients connesure (I know it's spelled wrong) with pretty much their whole line up. And its just as taste as organic but 2 - 3 times the yield. And I've been growing for 2 million years now so I know it all 😂 But for real Scott, why do I still need to use microbes (piranha teranchela & voodoo juice) if the Nutrients are already broke down. You can visually see they love it when cycle them in. How's it helping if the Nutrients are broke down too?
I’ve been growing organic for a little while now and I like it because it’s easy. But the only thing is your tent will smell like a dead animal lol and I’ve also noticed the plant start to get deficiency’s in between feedings so I use recharge to help break down the amendments. So far so good!
@@ScottyReal420 yup, I deal with that lol everytime I water I get nervous lol. Definitely wanna try coco in the future with your Grow Dots. Thanks for the response man appreciate that 🙌
From what I've seen on-line, the main problem people have growing isn't in how they grow, or the fertilizer regimens, it's in their environment using leds. You have to adjust your environment to run leds without seeing "deficiencies". Think about it, why would you have deficiencies if everything the plant needs is in the soil or irrigation.
I just went back to organics as my kids say I'm a old hippie buck ive had huge pest problem spider mites etc I don't know weather todo organics again or go back to coco😊
I grow organic, for years for my veg garden and cannabis. Salts ruin the soil, that is what's wrong with the food chain. organics build the soil. How do you know where salts are mined?
There are water soluble organic nutes. Micronized nutes. You guys forgot to mention, as fast as you can fix a deficiency is as fast as you can kill a plant too. Large volumes of soil provide a huge buffer. No plants are dying and getting deathly ill overnight. No-till living soil beds are king!! It all works, and im glad their are options. But a big bed of soil is magical.
One thing I found was Organics if I fuck up the plant still ends up okay with synthetics if I mess up might as well throw it away far as terps go in the end product
Run a combo, I like both, it's situational for me, time, money, schedule, there's factors, not that much experience tho that I can totally say ones better than the other! Synthetics are convenient, some are better than others. .
My organics are fermentations with food scraps and weeds and a sugar source, brown sugar, cane sugar, and molasses. Cheapest way to grow, with gaia green and worm casting self made as well. Hey BTW just kuz are organic doesn't mean u can't also use mineral as well.
Please explain the difference between adding microbes to a natural garden vs containers/pots. In other words, soil vs soilless (coco included). Tests show that organic grow in containers is waste of money, and most containers are filled with soilless mix, thus adding microbes is waste of money. Recharge works great in containers, but that is because of the fulvics. I am not trying to challenge your business modell, and I am a HUGE fan of DGC and your shows, but there is no need for neither worm humus or microbes in hydro soilless. I have spent around 5000 USD on Recharge (far away Norway) parallell with Atami coco nutrients (the best and of course European!). This has been a BIG waste of money due to overlapping effects. You are branding Recharge as a universal product that can be used both in the natural garden and containers with similar effect. I would rethink the branding to make it as truthfully as possible. If using Recharge, there is no need for bottles with fulvic and aminos, and opposite. Also please present evidence of microbes making a hydro soilless grow more successfully. Why add fungi when using hydro nutrients in a self-watering system? No need for any moisture assistance from fungi. Why add bacteria in hydro soilless when the substrate comes perfectly fluffy from the factory? Looking forward to your response. You can delete my comment if it is too negative. I really wish Scotty Real and his friends the very best. Love you! Source of knowledge: ruclips.net/video/_FS4TkApuGg/видео.html

The nutrients side of things is the hardest part to get my head around 😅 somehow without planning anything beforehand ive managed to make healthy looking, pretty, frosty nugs with cheap ass compost and organic nutes but they are only a few centimeters wide and tall 😂 cant wait to start again and try out the grow dots
Over the past 30 years, I've tried a few things. In my honest opinion, you can't beat the taste of organically grown. But like anything, it has to be done right.
I had the chance to use recharge once, only bought the small tester pack as a trial. When I liked the results, I went back to buy more, only to find Canada can’t get it anymore. So I’ve gone to worm teas and compost teas.
There were changes in the Canadian fertilizer Act and we and now or shipments and being seized at the boarder. I hope we can get this corrected at some point and make our products available to Canada again.
All you “Ewww salts” people really don’t take the time to do your own research the plant doesn’t know which is which, but I will say microbes and bio stimulants will make a difference and some of those things already come in organics which is the only difference I see

Thank you, I am glad out videos are helping People!
I'm blown away that Scotty isn't an organic grower. I figured with recharge being made by him he would definitely b on the organic side
I have tried it before but, it is not my current or preferred way.
naw, scotty likes to kill off his microbes with salts so he can add them in again 😅😅😅😂

I agree, I tried organic twice and it was a mess. I did not have the knowledge and it was all my fault. I tip my hat to those who grow organicly and succefully, I would like to grow organicly one day, but after 40+ years with bottles, I'm not changing. Cheers

Very true!
wonder why plants grow far bigger and faster with “ synthetic” nutrients .
I agree!
Coco coir with synthetic nutes , been thinking of trying the grow dots but gen hydros has done a fine job for me thus far, love your channel ❤

I like this challenge!
Synthethic not chelated, and also the molecules are attatched to salt molecules..

Synganic. Start with well built soil and push a little more with a liquid feed. Then slow down feedings to allow to finish.
Scotty have you ever had your buds lab teated for THC and terpenes? Thanks
Both produce awesome bud, it all comes down to the grower and how much time you spend with your plants.
Used Jacks since the 90s with no problems use organics along with synthetics with no problems
I have a soil “organic” grow going that I put some jacks on yesterday.
Jack's is tried and true.
Everyone should experiment, it is fun!
OR, maybe keeping him out of sight helps us viewers imagine ourselves as the questioner ;) I love the format :)
there's no need to flush with any grow
@@clamwok Really? Can you elaborate?

@@ScottyReal420 Thanks for the link. Sorry to harp so much on this one topic but it's just one thing I can't seem to wrap my head around (yet).
Here's where I may be going wrong: my assumption is that soluble ionic salts in the soil will dissolve in any water applied, and therefore be taken up by the roots. I know that a plant in senescence takes up less water- therefore less solubilized nutrients. BUT, can the roots selectively take up water but NOT the available dissolved nutrients? This is the part I just can't seem to grasp.
Thanks. Went with organics. This video is like 3 weeks late for me : ) regards from germany
Congratulations on going legal!
I use recharge right before I start to flip to flower …. My question is , is it ok to use with every water ?

Love totally organic ,its fun and i feel closer to my plants ,
I love growing cannabis.
You just love growing Cannabis and there is nothing wrong with that no matter which way you do it!

Have to remember the plant survives on the Worm casting whilst the dry ammendments are broken down by the microbes, and any deficiency can be fixed with worm casting whilst the 444 or 284 breaks down. It's not such a risky process like some people are led to believe.
True
Can you start using this halfway through veg cycle???
yes it sure can.
Can we use a little of both? 🤔
I do. I'll give it some worm castings every 3-4 weeks to give some microbial life to my medium. I'll give it some guano once in the middle of veg. That's it though.
yes understanding and using both is the best way to grow and you will understand more about the plant as long as you actually do the research
Of course, but some nutrients are not "compatible" for it.

I have done both and love both. Currently running all living soil but plan on getting dwc buckets for mothers
Well I'm betting me knowing what the plant needs and the plant knowing what it needs, I'll place my money on the plant knowing what she needs!
Thanks for Sharing your experiances!
I m in the North East. Short grow season We plant memorial Day weekend. They grew 2 feet in 1 months from seed
On my third organic dry amendment run and I must say it's absurdly easier than any bottle line!
Best way to use recharge to to mix it in water and water it into your soil at least once a week. No other specials requirements are needed

I brew Boogie Brew compost tea. Zero smell.

I just upgraded to a 4x8 and I’m trying my hand at synthetic nutes. I’m going with drip hydro for nutrients cuz they seem to keep it as easy as possible, and cheap!
I’m still gonna run half the tent organic. I’ll never give it up.
experimenting is fun and will make you a better grower.
And I've been growing for 2 million years now so I know it all 😂
But for real Scott, why do I still need to use microbes (piranha teranchela & voodoo juice) if the Nutrients are already broke down. You can visually see they love it when cycle them in. How's it helping if the Nutrients are broke down too?
everything in a liquid nutrients can not be chelated, the microbes will help those elements become more available for the plant.
I’ve been growing organic for a little while now and I like it because it’s easy. But the only thing is your tent will smell like a dead animal lol and I’ve also noticed the plant start to get deficiency’s in between feedings so I use recharge to help break down the amendments. So far so good!
I also had issues keeping the humidity down with living soil.

Scotty u ever hang out in collier county? You know anyone from marco island?
I have not been there since my teens, not sure if i know anyone from there.
But a big bed of soil is magical.
i like that you named your product with names that say exactly what they do i dont want to have to think when buying shit high
So true.
It's almost as if he has synthetic nutrients to sell... I also wonder if he's consistent and also uses synthetics on his bamboo farm?
yes we have a product similar to Grow Dots that is made for use with Bamboo
I use bio bizz and have had good results but I use half the amount recommended after watching your vids thanks for saving me money 💰 👍
Love you!

The salts in synthetic are the thing people dont like? I think, however you can sustainably replenish inexpensively, go for it.
I've grown every way possible and found a combination of Organics and synthetics is the best. I had the chance to use recharge once, only bought the small tester pack as a trial. When I liked the results, I went back to buy more, only to find Canada can’t get it anymore. So I’ve gone to worm teas and compost teas.
