My first full size headphone was an open back mid range Sennheiser, it had a super long cable too. I had that headphone throughout my 20s and used and abused it every day, for 12 years, they are very resilient.
Big fan of Sennheiser headphone's, have used their HD6xx, HD600, HD660s, and tried their HD800s too. Amazing pairs!! The headband and foams look similar to HD6xx here
Works for different setups. I like having short cables to use between multiple setups, and if a setup requires a long cable (e.g. my PC), setting up an extension cord to plug into.
The glitches at the start made me freak that my phone was fucking up like my main machine when the graphics card is overloaded until i remembered this dood does live stream unboxings now.
Hi great and interesting video, I bought mine some time back, I found it to be a good all rounder headphone ,quite neutral sound signature, yes the cable is long and rubbery and have replaced it with van Damne silver plated one , yes it is 2 long for most people’s application but fir me in my listening room it’s ideal . It’s interesting now that sennheiser all the cables are 1.8m -6ft as just bought hd660s2. I also that newer 500 range the headphones comes with 1/4” jack adapter as standard and sennheiser should supplied with that not with the dongle type cable adapter . I suppose they trying to protray that’s it’s a audiophile headphone and if course studio equipment has 1/4” inputs . I also notice even now is costs $200 in the us but in uk it’s about £130 . Regards mark
Cable length is perfect for me. Standard quartar inch is great becuase I mainly use it with a Scarlett 2i2 and I keep the pigtail plugged into my guitar amp and just pull out of the 2i2 and strait into my amp.
Please compare this vs the x2hr. I own the x2hr, and I knew you love them from watching your review. I'm looking at the 560s as an upgrade/substitute for the x2hr. The details/resolution and imaging may be better on the 560s but I'm a bit concerned about soundstage and bass.
@@SuperReview thanks. Do you think overall the 560s is a good upgrade from the x2hr if my main uses are immersive single player gaming and movies watching?
I can't really answer a question like that. I'll do my review and describe the headphone, up to you to decide if it does things different that you personally value.
Great video. a question, in your opinion which is better the HIFIMAN he400se or the sennheiser hd 560s? I am not sure which one to choose as I have seen that both are excellent and have a similar price. but I would like your personal opinion on which is better.
@@SuperReview Canada. I checked the CA website and it says the same thing as the US, weird. Bought it during a sale a few days ago with a bunch of other reddit users and some of them got the same thing as me. I guess they heard the complaints of the long cable.
Does your left earpad looked a bit squished than right one ? When new. Or are the right and left earpad look slightly different in size (in terms of buffness *squished or less squished*
I just went with a pair of Beyerdynamics 300Rs (the TYGRs) over the 560s since I have a pair of 599s for gaming. Still anxious to see a review of the 560s on your part, it's very difficult to sort through all the Sennheiser iterations which all seem to carry over the same form factor again and again. I scooped up a 3ft New Fantasia cable for my HD599s because that 10ft cable is dumb. The 599s do include a shorter "mobile" cable but it'll fight you. Why is just a relaxed, jank free cable the impossible dream on headphones from 150 to like 4000 dollars? Why can't we have decent stock cables ffs..
Yeah, the HD5xx series confounds me -- numbers and prices all over the place. Don't get it. I ordered the shorter 599 cable on Amazon, hopefully not too stiff but we'll see :\
@@NekoOkto Like any headphone it'll depend on your preferences. I think objectively it can be said they're well built and comfortable IF you find round earpads comfortable. I have medium-sized ears and mine fit very comfortably inside the ear cups, but if you have very large or oblong ears I can see it being a problem. They also have an attached cable. It's a fine cable, I have no complaints about it's length or the rubbery composition of it, but it's still attached. Now from my perspective they don't have much soundstage for an open back. They're clearly aggressively V-tuned but with quality emphasis on Bass (which extends very well) and the Mid-Upper Treble. Vocals are very forward but are not shouty or congested. The treble can probably be tuned to be very crispy if desired but I'm currently content to leave it as is. They drive well enough but definitely benefit from some amplification imo. I've been using them with a Zen DAC (both with and without the TrueBass) and an Earman Sparrow. They sound great on both. But I'm also running a U-slope EQ on my phone and my PC (further de-emphasizing the midrange). And I'm primarily using them to listen to 90's hip hop and industrial music; I'm not really using them for gaming at this time. They sound on the borderline of open/semi-open. You can definitely hear your surroundings but it's muted. Thus far I can wear them for hours with no fatigue and I'm pretty much addicted to the bass extension and control. The sub-bass particularly is delicious. I think if you're basshead audiophile then they're a slam dunk winner. But if you live your life in the mid-range, are someone who would have reservations about treble and bass boosts, and wants a wide soundscape with neutral tuning then look elsewhere. These do not sound like Sennheisers or the Beyerdyanmic DT series their form factor is based on. The TYGRs are presently my favorite dynamics out of everything I own, I think they sound a lot better than the Focal Elegias actually, but they are NOT a better buy imo than the wired HiFiMan Devas. With the Devas you definitely need amplification. And the headphone padding on the Devas is weird. It's both comfortable and uncomfortable at the same time, I can't explain it but the sound... THE SOUND.. It's exquisite. Anything vocal or orchestral, I have a hard time believing it gets better than the wired Deva within the price point. So if this reads like I know what I'm talking about , and you want some German-style V-tuned cans then yeah.. the TYGRs will definitely tickle your lederhosen. DMS and Zeos also have review/impression videos for the TYGRs. They reference the imagining capabilities of the TYGRs and sure? I mean to me with the sound stage being so near it's not something I've really noticed. I feel too close to the music for my brain to discern how the sound is being partitioned and delivered. For me the lack of distortion and graininess given the elevated tuning is what sets these apart. It's a meaty, impactful, close sound. But it's controlled af.

Nobody can really hear a difference between 16 bit and 24 bit; 24-bit is snake oil. Yeah, the headband foam shape looks a lot like 6xx, but on the 560S it's wrapped in a velour basically the same as the ear pads.

I haven't heard that Hifiman.
Did they make a revision? Mine came with a 1.8m cable terminated to 3.5mm and a screw-type 3.5mm to 6.3mm adapter.
