Wow. I honestly can't believe it worked. Well done mate! Even if something happens and you have trouble growing these guys, just getting them to spawn successfully is amazing. 👏 Great video bud.
I've just read a few papers about breeding neon tetras. Apparently survival rate is improved by feeding microalgae at first, and later "mixed zooplankton" rather than artemia by which I think they mean Moina and Daphnia. A Polish group discovered that you should re-spawn the parents relatively quickly, like a week or so, otherwise the egg number and quality seems to decrease. This works for up to 7 times. Maybe for a year, maybe for the lifetime of the fish. I think the former. They also said keeping the fish at temperatures above 22°C negatively affected fry output.
So cuuute!!! Their tiny little neon spot is precious. I’m hoping to breed my kubotai rasbora but they’re going to be microscopic lol. I could hardly see my betta fry at first and I didn’t even notice the eggs when I bred them. I have no hopes in seeing my kubotai eggs/fry, but maybe someday some juveniles will show up in my tank 😂
I don't have neons, don't plan on breeding them either. But it's the middle of winter in the middle of an ice storm and I'm bored and on a fish kick lately, so I have been binging fish videos lol.
Good to see them 👍🏻. I think you should have used some kind of mesh/netting at 3 to 4 inches above substrate so that 1) the eggs are safe 2) one has to leave this group for 1 to 2 days to spawn and scatter as many eggs. No need of java moss etc
Really helpful video. My gold neon tetra died today and in the process of removing her from the tank, I squeeze the belly. I always do this when removing dead females from the tank to ensure no living fry or eggs are trapped inside... well long story short it was It was raining eggs.😳 I frantically screamed at my boyfriend to get a cup and the net to block off all of the other tetra from going after the eggs. I used a dropper to remove all of the eggs released into the tank and put them into a cup. I have guppy fry tank up rn, but since they are live bearers it wasn't hard to take care of them. I was going to put the eggs into my guppy fry tank, but the guppies all about 1.5 centimeters meaning they're big enough eat them like m&m's. 😭 Eggs and nowhere to put them, looks like I'm going on a shopping trip to the pet store. 😭
How long until you start to see the fries? I follow all your advise but it has been 5 days since i retrieve the adult neons and, apart from a few unfertilised eggs I haven seen any fries. Thanks for your videos.
Hey man I’ve been watching your videos over and over and I followed all the steps and my neons spawned! However I noticed all the eggs where white in color. It’s only been about a day, but my experience with spawning koi fish, white is no good. They’ve been fat for a while and didn’t think much of it but over feeding, do you think they spawned infertile eggs since they hadn’t spawned in a couple months? I’ve had them since July
Hey bud my fish kept laying eggs on the top of the water and they kept being eaten by the others so I waited till they laid the eggs and the male wiggled next to her then I scooped out the little eggs floating all around and put them in a separate tank . Will I be able to hatch them in here ?
So I recently got neon tetras to go in my beta tank and I’ve noticed that they are breeding. It is just a normal 10 gallon with a sponge filter. What should I do?
Just wanted to know I’m getting this right. I put them into there own fish tank with a filter and fatten them up. Then I put them into a different aquarium without a filter and just a heater so they can breed in the weed. Then I take them out after an hour and a bit. And let them sit with the light of to grow up
It must be such a rewarding experience to see life occur with your care!
That's why I do it!
You've been watching the master. Keep on spreading and teaching. All the best Mark.
I have! Absolutely loved your series and all your other videos! Really helped me out with my danios too. Thank you for all the help Mark 🙏
@@KeepingFishSimple No problem 😊 its nice to see your passion for the hobby. 😀👍

But they're unfertilized eggs?
At 4:10 when he says "He doesn't see any fry etc., there's actually free swimming baby. Pretty cool
Great video had been waiting for this
I really like the intro~
Awesome video👍🏻
No air pump or sponge filter in the tank?
No need
dude they came out soooo well! mice mate!
Thanks a bunch Bodgie
yeah now i nedd part 2 and neon tetra fry growth
It is coming
4:07 you can see one moving on the bottom left corner. Awesome video btw.
This was an excellent 2 parter 👍🐟
I tiny bit of cooked egg yolk mushed up with a little water makes good fry food too.
Is there a filter in there? And is the heater a must

Would they still breeding in a community tank or only if u separate them?
Is infusoria have smell ?
Thank you. I look forward to trying this.
Should the oxygen pump to be set up (for fry and also while the fish are spwaning)? Does only adding stones help?
i randomly spotted some neon eggs in my aquarium but i d'ont have an infusoria kid. do u have any advise.
Great video
Thanks for the visit
PT 2 YESSIRRRR
Hahah thanks justin
🤩 WOW! Fantastic 😆
Thank you! Cheers!
KeepingFishSimple 👏👏😄
did u use ro water or just tapwater to breed neon tetra
Instead of peat moss, can coco peat be used?

Sick video mate.
Congratulations!!! :)
you can see fry in the moss at 8:55. Are there any conditions for the eggs to hatch?
What temperature did you set in that tank ?
Can you use uv lights to spot the fries?
Can i use a sponge filter during this phase of the breeding?
They’re so tiny they respond greatly to water movement, they’ll get pushed around or sucked to the sponge
Look great, nice video
So I recently got neon tetras to go in my beta tank and I’ve noticed that they are breeding. It is just a normal 10 gallon with a sponge filter. What should I do?
Can you use brine shrimp to feed them at this stage
Love ur vids keep it up
Thanks man!!! I thought my neon was getting fat but she is just preg
Great video man
Appreciate it
Do I have to seprate the parent after the eggs gets hatched
Just wanted to know I’m getting this right. I put them into there own fish tank with a filter and fatten them up. I think you leave them overnight in the dark in the second tank. They lay the eggs in the morning. Then take them out late morning or afternoon?
How long did u keep the parents together?
Well done.
egg yoke paste/powder is a good starter food, also
Yay I was waiting for this vid for forever
can you put the fish in the food kit thing
When will there be another fish tank review? Love the vids
Can they survive in a tank of ghost shrimp
You can totally see them at 4:11 !
Someone get my dude a tripod! 😩
Yay! Fry!
The best!
How many gallons is this tank?
name of song in the video ?????
I had glow light tetras, they always spawned, but they never hatched...
One of my tetras got pregnant on accident! So now I'm here wondering how it's done :)
at 4.12 you can see a baby fish in the moss
Are the eggs much smaller than danio eggs.
Yes
@@KeepingFishSimple do take video or photos of fry growth 5 days interval for a month and make a video. There is less information about neon tetra fry
😎😎
dude i want to know how to stop my tetras breeding lol they do not stop in my setup
Yo white light from bunnings 😂
this is nie!
aspect ratio of this shit is insane doe
