That little boy would grow up to become the world’s most famous Monster Hunter. So famous would be he that any monster would cower in fear when they hear his name.
I LOVE that Mr Lewis drops in, says you're gonna hear about The Prince of Darkness, and instantly leaves. That's what we in the business call "exposition"!
Honestly, this perfectly captures the way all those old Hammer movies were set up. Peter Cushing and his young daughter move to a small town, presumably somewhere on the continent, which, despite it's location is still populated primarily by upper-class British people. Characters show up, dump exposition with no pretext, and then leave. There's a lot of melodrama, Christopher Lee does something scary, and there's some grizzly off-screen violence. And then it just sort of ends. This is the platonic ideal of a Hammer picture, right here. You can tell his dad was watching a lot of them.
Every so often RUclips throws up a random recommendation that is pure gold. Thank you. Thoroughly enjoyed your work and homage to your father's vision.
This is brilliant. Loved that the kid's stake was inside his teddy bear. For some reason the description of David Lewis falling out the window to his death was hilarious--that and the later description of his body being all splattered. Also, among the people waiting for Dracula, my favorite is the big nosed gentleman holding a battleaxe.
The Algorithm, may it be praised, dropped this gem into a friend's recommendations. She wasted no time in sending it to me. This was just wonderful! Nice choices of Bach, Mozart, and Saint-Saëns.
Something about this just reminded me of something that used to be on Nickelodeon back when it first started called "Kid's Writes." In it there were performers who would act out stories kids wrote and sent them. The last part where the kid stakes and kills Dracular made me think that this is something a kid would put into a story, a it is a neat little twist from nowhere accompanied by "I don't like you." It is rather clever and reminds us that a kid wrote this story and in the end made a kid the hero.
Thank you for creating this mini masterpiece. As a child, I watched all of the Cushing/Lee - Hammer films, and this brings back pleasant memories. And thanks to the creative mind of your father so many years ago.
I wonder what his teacher said about this story. This is beautifully done: it is not only funny but also very well filmed, the direction and the cinematography are really on point! Congratulations and thanks for sharing your family personal story with us! 🖤
6:00 This claymation film has excellent special effects. That transformation is top-shelf. Watched several times in slow motion to appreciate the craft. The in-between forms are cute 😂
This is the cutest claymation, and a Very loving tribute of a young adult son to his dad and his dad's story from his childhood. Hilarious and charming.
I’m trying to think of the best superlatives to use: delightful (definitely), impressive (obviously), brilliant (absolutely) I think “hilarious” says it best!😂
My favorite bit is the fact David was 100% superfluous. What used to be called "a red herring" which is meant to misdirect your attention. So the kid killing Dracular is the plot twist at the end. Absolutely brilliant script writing.
This was wonderfully done! I laughed when the little kid killed the vampire by throwing his teddy's head, with stake attached, and it impaled the evil Dracular! lol! Thanks for sharing your masterpiece! ~Janet in Canada
Nearly unbelievable, that all this fantastic Work was made mainly by one Person. The whole Atmosphere is brilliant. And the fine Clay Artwork too. Gopefully there will come more from your ingenious Hands and Mind.
Fantastic! Brilliant piece, a joy to watch. I will definitely be sharing this! Love the casting - perfect, if you ask me ❤ Please continue on this artistic journey, and I look forward to more wonderful films! Kudos!
Absolutely incredible work Jack! Been waiting to see this since seeing the models, and it was well worth the wait! Beautiful production design and I love how you timed all of the horror and comedic moments! Cannot wait to see what you make next!
I love it! Bravo to you and your dad! It's beautifully animated, dressed and lit! I'm especially enjoying watching the transformation from bat to Drac and back again in slow-motion. I find it interesting and understandable that a child with a British accent might think it's Dracular since the pronunciation is identical to that of Dracula. There are several accents where I grew up, in and outside of New York, in the US, where it's common to end Drac's name with an -er sound, Draculer, and actually pronounce it with a hard, rhotic R, even though no movie actor, Hammer Studios or Universal, ever said it that way. I myself often use the word Dracular to describe myself, because I am very, very, Dracular, meaning of or like Dracula. So there you go. Boom.
Absolutely amazing work, this managed to be both extremely funny and surprisingly atmospheric & creepy! Your dad sounds like an awesome guy, it’s so sweet that you put so much effort into bringing to life a story he came up with as a kid (it’s also clear your dad was always a tried and true Dracula fan)!
This is perhaps the best Dracula story I’ve ever seen and ever will see thank you, the team, and of course of your father for making throw into existence
Well, that was better written than several more modern interpretations of the Dracula(r) story, lol. Well done, both the writing and the claymation interpretation! Thank you. 😄
"I don't like you"..little kid, vampire hunter😂😂
That little boy would grow up to become the world’s most famous Monster Hunter. So famous would be he that any monster would cower in fear when they hear his name.
Van Helsing
Yes, and the consequences of that stake really made me laugh, in a good way, so well done. ;-0)
"Dracula Christopher Lee" Had me rollin" lol
oh that was funny until "david was all splattered" hahahahahaha, GENIUS!
That's what his mom calls him when he's in trouble.
@@Ealgylden I'm dyin' lmao
Ahem, "DraculaR Christopher Lee"
My son went as Dracula for Halloween when he was around 9, and when people said “Oooo, Dracula” he’s say “Im Christopher Lee Dracula”.
"David was all splattered" 😂🤣
That got the most laughs out of me!
When my own end comes, I'm hoping for "splattered."
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 love this!
😊o😊😊😊 😊😅
That's when I sprayed my tea all over my keyboard. 🤣
“I don’t like you!”
Before throwing a stake through someone’s heart is badass
Especially a stake with a teddy bear head.
No, he threw a steak! 😂😂😂
I LOVE that Mr Lewis drops in, says you're gonna hear about The Prince of Darkness, and instantly leaves. That's what we in the business call "exposition"!
I did a scriptwring course once, years ago, and one or two of the other students (adults) wrote like that.
One slightly worse.
Or perhaps, "As your know, Bob..." 😂
@@truegrit7697 That and "Have you forgotten that ....?" As in "Have you forgotten that you lost your left leg in a tractor explosion?"
Cuts to the chase, doesn't he
I also liked that he just kind of lingered outside afterwards, as if he didn't know where he was supposed to go.
Instant classic. Lee and Cushing would be proud
Im sad they never got to see nor read this
Perhaps one of their relatives will?
@@fabnfat4867 Who says they can't see it? Bwahahahahahaha!
Kid at the end was a gangster. Literally carried around a concealed shiv at all times and knew how to throw it perfectly
Conceal and carry teddy 🧸 with expert aim is epic!

Absolutely, every Hammer Film and most f te Castle Films. I think I always knew but now I can't ignore it, thanks, I think, lol
How accurate!! 😂❤🖤
And the young men (like the splattered David) are useless.
Every so often RUclips throws up a random recommendation that is pure gold. Thank you. Thoroughly enjoyed your work and homage to your father's vision.
How is this so adorable and so horrifying at the same time?
Kids, gotta love 'em.
"He was all splattered" lol
“I don’t like you….” 😂
Agreed. This is so gory, and specific, and... cute? 😅 I'm so curious to meet Mr. Paterson, but with supervision. 😂😂😂
Mr. Lewis just faffing around in the background made me laugh. Also, the Dracula getting iced by some random kid.
That was quite the plot twist😂
For a nine year old, that's a tale well written. Indeed, it deserves an A+.
I think this is the most charming horror story every written!
Love how David, a proper English Gentleman, finishes his pint- before heading off to do battle with Dracular.
That is adorable (in a gruesome sort of way)! It's a lovely way to honor your dad.
Peter Cushing, Christopher Lee and claymation: all my dreams come true! Thank you.
That little boy was a HERO! That was a spectacular Dracular. It should win awards!
The likenesses on Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee are spot on!
Beware of five-year-olds with Teddy bears and dart skills.

What about the guy who rushed into the pub to deliver the news who "lost his head"? Freakin' hilarious!!!
That got me too.
The big nosed battleaxe man deserves his own film.
@@zacmumblethunder7466 YES!
Love the Victorian maiden holding the bottle (presumably of gin).
Thanks for immortalizing your dad’s delightful story for our enjoyment. 😄
Well, that was charming. I’m very much looking forward to the Brides of Dracular..
This may be the best vampire story ive ever seen. Brilliant

Laughed when the pub door swung open and it went through that guy like he wasn't there.
I’m glad I’m not the only person who caught that! Made me do a double-take. X^D
Isn't this what happened in the book? Classic ending line 'i don't like you' !
All plot points extremely accurate.
you are the best sort of son. your father did well.
also i really enjoyed the claymation and the wonderful narrator.

The lil sauce pot lampshade was very clever, cute and worked perfectly.
A+ story
I absolutely love when filmmakers take kids stories and animate them to the letter of whats written. Pure comedy joy. Thank you for making this.
1:24 “You must be Mr. Philips.”
Peter Cushing: “You may admire when ready.”
It would be Phillips with two L’s, naturally
Thank you for creating this mini masterpiece. As a child, I watched all of the Cushing/Lee - Hammer films, and this brings back pleasant memories. And thanks to the creative mind of your father so many years ago.
Loved the wooden stake attached to the teddy bear head!
Loved the stake hidden in a teddy!
This is the best vampire movie I’ve seen in YEARS.
I just realized that the sign on one of the shops says "Vinton's" which is a tribute to claymation legend Will Vinton.
Absolutely charming. Peter and Chris will be beaming in the ether. This has just brightened a very dull day. Subb'd.

“Brilliant telling of a Hammer horror legend!” ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This brought such joy to my little black heart! 🖤🧡🖤
Genius. I love how this came about, and became.
I love the claymation. Truly worth the wait of an amazing film.📽️🎬🎞️🎭

This is one of the best stories I've ever seen, and I'm not exaggerating.
I really like the nonplussed look of Dracular when folks are just leaping out windows and throwing stakes at him. ^_^

Better than anything Disney, Marvel or DC have put out in the last 25 years.
AMAZING! You got to love how this claymation film TOTALLY perfected Sir Christopher Lee's iconic glare-down at people.
