    I just started adding shallots to my veggie stir fry. I love them. I am hoping to grow them next cool season.

    Just found your channel. 🥰🌱❤️ I recently pulled up what I thought were undeveloped onions, but found they were shallots. I think I’ll grow more shallots than onions next year. Thank you for these tips! ❤

    First harvest of a French type today. Finally invested in some last fall. I have been growing the Zebrune from seed. They seem to very well also.
    My question is, do you save some of your own stock for replanting in the fall? If it’s possible, any different about storage until then?
    Thanks! I’ll appreciate the help. 😊

      We do save our own to replant. Starage is basically the same, cool, dry, dark. We split them into individual bulbs and check them to make sure non have stated to rot.. Has worked well for a number of years..

    How many new bulbs do you get from one planted bulb in general?

    Hi, a couple of questions. Can you grow these from store bought and do they grow okay in pots?

    • @johnnyAGardening
      @johnnyAGardening  3 месяца назад +2

      Well worth a try frrom store bought as long as they are in good condition and not treated in any way. As for pots, yes a large pot should work if you cant grow them in ground.

      I used store bought shallots and they are growing 3 plants to each bulb. 50 days in the garden. Still growing and cutting the top greens.

      @@johnnyAGardening hello, I'm using them on baked potatoes and on top of my salad. I also use them cut the length of toast to use on top of soft boiled egg and melted cheddar. Basil goes well with it too.
