Thank you so much. I fixed my mirror in less than 10 minutes. The collision center wanted to charge $750. The tool needed to not crush the wires is an oxygen sensor socket and can be purchased or rented from Auto Zone or any store that sells auto supplies.
I did it myself with an oxygen sensor socket.

I was upset because kansas city was losing in the 1st quarter and I could not get this mirror fixed. Lexus was trying to charge me $515. I was like go ahead and order it. Then I watched several videos but then I got to yours. The most simplest easiest quickest fix out of all that I've seen. Some guys will pull in the wires all the way out taking the door panel a loose no illuse I must give you credit yours is the best. And we thank you. My wife loves me because of this lol and the Kansas City Chiefs are now winning 23 to 24

great video , quick question i cracked the glass i see i can order new glass, but also on the motor there are 3 plastic clips holding it in 2 are broken, is there a way to replace those? the motor works fine??

My SC 300 mirror was repaired twice before, and the tube was mangled. What I did was put a long thin bolt down the center of the tube (with a small washer on top), right next to the wires. On the bottom of the support, I put a washer and nut to tighten the spring down. I used a weaker spring. This will never fail again!!!!

I’m I have a 2017 Lexus NX200t and when I removed the glass their aren’t screws. So I can’t figure out how to separate the housing to get to the shaft. HELP!
Do a vid for Ls430 2001-2003..cant find anything out there and the setup inside is shrouded in plastic and cant get to the spring smh, someone help plzzzzz

Does it matter what wire goes where for your defrost? There's a brown and green wire. And I dont know which one goes where.
Really helpful video. Thanks for posting. A few additional comments/tips for doing this job:
* removing mirror: clarifying for viewers that there are two plastic tab/slots at the top and two plastic clips on the bottom, so be sure to only pull outwards from the bottom
* screws: as far as I could tell, you only need to remove three screws, not four. The lower right one (which gave me a LOT of trouble due to corrosion) doesn't seem to hold the back of the enclosure on at all.
* After hammering the ring back into position as described, I added a small hose clamp onto the post above it. Maybe a little insurance against it ever happening again.
* In the While You're There department, check the running light bulb before you put everything back together again.
The post on mine is too small and narrow for the clip to hold on. I don’t know how you guys were able to do it
@@pmrdoctor6429 same here, I think the parts sticking out of the post was worn out too much over time and there's not much for the washer to hang on to
I followed the video however when finished the mirror doesn’t go forward or back like if pushed hard like used to and passenger mirror. Did I do something wrong?

How do you clip the mirror back on?
I just did this and now my Sideview wont collapse. Was something not aligned when i hammered it? No clue how to take it back off

This was not as easy to press down on the spring for me. Mine had A LOT of tension and I had to put a lot of body weight on it to get the spring to go down. I watched this video 10 times and spent 3 hours to get the spring in and put the housing back.

Late reply but Top clips go on first then push in bottom clips till you hear click.

Which way does the glass pop off? Mine isn't coming off as easy as the video makes it seem.

I'm having the problem that the ring clip isn't grabbing onto the shaft. I've tried bending the prongs in more but still no luck. What should I do?

Exactly same issue not holding on. I am thinking of using metal putty to see if it will hold onto the post and then try to press the clip in. Don’t know if this will work
Push it down slow and it takes a lot more pressure than you'd think it should. Don't just hit it the first time, pus it down until it catches then tap it on down farther. Good luck
same here, the ring on the shaft has worn out on my car and the washer cannot grab on to it.

The Lexus dealership just told me it could cost $150 or I might need a new mirror which costs $1000 to replace and they won’t know for sure until they open it up which is the $150 and if the whole thing needs replacing the $150 is non refundable. Both my mirrors are loose lmao!

If you hit the washer too hard, it will fix the problem but you will not be able to swivel the mirror.
Don't hammer it to much otherwise u will not be able to hand turn the mirror after everything is back.
