I had a 1970 in early 1971 it was a fantastic driving car. The same color as this with a matching green vinyl top and tan interior. I couldn’t afford an SJ but being what a fantastic driver for a 21 year old kid. Another of many I should have held on to. Now I’m 72 years old soon to be 73! Dang it! lol I’ve had a bunch of Pontiacs over the years. My first was a 73 Tempest with a 389 headers and 3 speed, I can’t remember how many torque tube drive shafts I replaced but it was a bunch! lol Next was a 64 Lemans turquoise outside and inside ! Keep in mind at that time I was about 17 years old. It was a beautiful car bucket seats with a console and 2 speed automatic. But factory air f I remember right? Not positive sorry. Washed and waxed that a few times a week! Wish I could still do that now! Haha Then a 1965 GTO oh Geese Louise if I could only go back in time! I bought her in 1974 totally original car same colors as my 64 Lemans . Very low mileage if I remember right it was about 40-50,000 I’m pretty sure. This car was totally immaculate honestly 4 speed = 389 with triples, splitter exhaust ,factory rally wheels and reverberatory? Huh? Yes the rear speakers were a few seconds behind the front ones kinda like an echo sound. Tinted windows just a gorgeous car and I paid a whopping $900.00 oh Damn I still think about this one! 🤔❤️ I also became the caretaker of a 2005 Gto 6 speed that my son Billy bought brand new. Amazing car black exterior and red interior. Unfortunately he passed at 43 years of age and I became the caretaker. We were both Pontiac Guys! 🥹 No regrets with any of our Pontiacs , just wish I could change a few things along the road! 💥💥❤️❤️
Had a 72 in highschool. 82. Positive battery cable grounding to steering box. Burning like a candle. At same time shifter cable was burning. Luckily I was in it at school. Had to pull ashtray to put out shifter cable. If you unhook cable from mount. You can shift gears on steering column behind wheel. Learned that the hard way. I was going underneath to shift into park reverse and drive. Until cold day in winter got under shifted into reverse and the thing dam near ran me over..... Love that car.
Looks like my Grand Prix I bought new from Colvin Pontiac in Denver Co. Model J, pepper green paint, performance axil. White vinyl top. Loved that car. Sold it with 40k miles of my pleasure. Gary
Nice Grand Prix, I had a 70 GP back in 73 and it was one of the fastest cars I ever owned. I hope you do some more videos of your car. New subscriber here also!
OUR NEIGHBOR HAD A GRN ON GRN W / BLK TOP 428 SJ , AFTER REBUILDING THE ENGINE THEY SOLD IT TO A FRIEND OF THE FAMILY FOR 900 .OO IN 75 OR 76 !!! IT WAS THE WIFES CAR CLEAN !!!
I wonder how many front bumpers got smashed while sitting parked in high density urban areas. In areas near the lakefront in Chicago, street parking places are few and far between and VERY tight.
Nope, no right sideview mirror. Nice car tho! GM cars are amazing in their reliability really. If you care for them moderately, even if you beat the hell out of them, they start & go every time! I've probably owned close to, if not more than 200 vehicles in what, 44 years? If I could remember them all probably mostly GM of all makes except Buick & GMC, then Ford & Lincoln (don't remember any Mercury) then a random Plymouth or two. They ALL were pretty much rock solid reliable. Maybe the key is not to own one for a long time. How's that for deviating from the subject at hand?

Back in my day, i owned a 69, 70, 71, and 72....J models and SJ models. Beautiful cars with lots of power and great running 😉
The four-headlight GP is the best looking, in my opinion. Love hearing the original starter too.
I had a 1970 GP identical to that. I sold it when I bought a 1973 Firebird Formula. I liked the GP so much better.
