7:53 that's because that's exactly what happens, most claw machines are rigged so that most grabs will be weak, meaning the prize slips out when the claw stops at the top.
In the UK that's why its a mandate by law that every Claw machine be marked with a "Category D non-complex gambling machine" sticker. To signal that it is not a skill based game.
Been watching this over on Blitz's channel. I finally had to pick it up the other day and it is, indeed, very addictive. Secret fact, you can use the credit card to get very, very deeply in to debt, but the only downside to that is no blacksmiths or pachinko machines.
Fun video. Next time get all of the "Junk Jet" perks... it'll hit enemies even if they have a shield or mirror, and one hit per item added into the bin. Stacking those is OP.
Yeah that X10 reflect bastard is evil. You are supposed to use the burning fluff from his lava skill (he fills the machine with lava turning fluff into burning fluff for some small damage) to spend his reflections before hitting him with your own more powerful attacks. Unfortunately, if you have a strength build then even the fluff still does mega damage. Played the demo of this some time ago with a major strength build and killed myself with reflected burning fluff doing 10 damage each.
@@DarthZ01 Really? Man I was not paying attention then. Maybe because I just kept grabbing so much fluff when fishing for my items I just kept running out his reflections before they went away of their own accord. Still makes a strength build tricky though since even 1 fluff can hurt.
38:06 Let's get shields, the enemy is doing no damage but seems to be getting a buff and all the enemies usually follow the same attacks/debuffs.... What about.... Attacking? Sometimes being on the offense is the best defense.
15:28 “And then we just grab this big sword, although it’s called a small sword.” Don’t let anyone shame your small sword, RCE. Be happy as long as you think you have a big sword - no matter what the haters say! 😉
7:59 yes, because the machines are rigged. They're not a game of skill but chance. You need to be lucky to get to it at the point it collected the programmed amount set by the owner, at which point it'll apply full strength to the claw and actually grab things; after that the counter resets and ya gotta be lucky again. The same is true for those key-lock machines.
As someone who’s familiar with them, that’s if you’re lucky. They can set them to never win. Not ones usually set in arcades, but privet one’s where stores have a row of them.
35:29 There's no skill to claw machine in real life. If you aren't the one lucky enough to be the one to play on the turn the owner has decided on to win, you will always lose. The owner of the machine decides how often the machine will give a win. Every other time the chance to lose is 100%.
12:22 "Can I do 20 damage?" With your strength and poison, those 3 daggers on the left would have been enough! Just for future playthroughs, in case you didn't notice yourself (way easier to do that as a viewer tbh absolutely no shade)
Hey Matt 3:30 Even if you have zero coins you can use it and it's a very fun build and if you use it in a lot of rounds and upgrade it a lot it'll become an op weapon Trust me Matt I'm an engineer👷♂️👷♂️👷♂️
I'd love to see another run focused on filing the machine up with either fluff or lots of items. I've seen someone else play and cause they had so many items they could just push stuff in without using a claw so they were dealing damage technically not on their turn. So I'd love to see you do that
I love it how often you show us cool new games! Thsnks Matt. especially when the AAA development can feel depressive. - But i always like it more watching you play than do it myself rn.
What you said around 08:40 about being able to get the grab but not able to lift. I swear that I heard this, somewhere in life, : The claw machines IRL modify their own 'picking up' ability based on number of games played so that the owner makes a profit. Sounds really F-ing bad, and I'm fairly certain its true. So what you said there: you did it, you did the whole thing. Then capitalism smacked your ass.
I loved this video and I love this game. Instead of attacking when he wasn't reflecting, you grabbed shields. You could've won 😢 Any architect could just say that engineers are bad at counting to ten (attacks) 😂😂
Poison/Magnet/Gold build is OP if you can manage to get it. As for that last boss, if you wait a couple turns the reflect buff goes away (on this boss at least).
Dangerously Funny had that build. He stacked tons of poison, had four gold magnets, and was doing literally trillions, if not quadrillions, of damage per hit as he went into endless mode (is that a mod?). By the end of the video, he wasn't just going ham; he was going full pork sandwich!
@@lordgenerias Endless mode isn't a mod, it's part of the demo (and presumably will be for the game). I mention it because I have that sort of build on Scrappy, I hit floor 22 before I decided to take a break... probably go back to it eventually.
Late game Scrappy pickups get nutty, as nearly everything is metal so you're just picking up the entire prize pool. I had it get clogged so many times, lmao.
See the 10 mirrors. Wonders why he's taking damage from the burning fluff. Doesn't notice that the mirrors are gone. Stacks shields while enemy is exposed. Attacks when mirror is back. Classic.
IRL these things are actually made to grip at full strength at first, then reduce when you move up, to scam you out of the win at the last moment so you pop another coin into the machine. You weren't good, that's just how those are made.
i found a game that you might like, its "the farmer was replaced". basically you need to code a farmin robot with real code. i would like to see you play it
A bit late to the party but, if you pick the blue shield, you lose all your block and the enemy attacks do one damage... If you after that pick up a regular shield, it does to your shield.. and the one damage the enemy does affects your shield
I wasn't going to watch this video cause I don't usually enjoy these kinds of games, but I'm glad I did because this looks so fun and I'm downloading the demo right now :D Update: I'm addicted
Omg credit card first round is op as hell, you can go into the negative and it doesn’t do anything to you other then not being able to buy anything the card still functions without money
If there are things that will increase the fluff and fluff is normally not good. I'm going to make an educated guest and say that there are also things that will make the fluff either turn into something useful or make it useful
The boss puts lava into the tank then you use the fluff to do little amounts of damage quickly to take out the mirrors then use your attacks and the fluff to damage him
9:50
Lucky mace: deals 14 damage
RCE "it did only 2 damage?"
12:10
Lucky Mace: deals 13 damage
RCE _“Oh it did 15 damage!”_
Also dagger did 5 damage, that made no sense
He's probably not actually playing while he's talking it's probably just a voice over
@@AlO-q9o2q doubt it, since that would give him more time to see that it's not two damage
@@AlO-q9o2q What? Why would anyone do that? It's just twice as much work. Doesn't make any sense for a game like this.
7:53 that's because that's exactly what happens, most claw machines are rigged so that most grabs will be weak, meaning the prize slips out when the claw stops at the top.
There are instructions in the manuel where you can configure how often people even can win
In the UK that's why its a mandate by law that every Claw machine be marked with a "Category D non-complex gambling machine" sticker. To signal that it is not a skill based game.
Perk RCE Ignored: "Heals 5 HP after every fight"
RCE a short while later: "I didn't know you didn't heal after every fight!"

or just wait, the reflect runs out and you get 1 turn of no reflect before he reapplies.
close your claw early, or just grab defense items
@@DarthZ01 Plus poison. Was a bit sad to see he didn't notice that he could've just waited :D

@DarthZ01 you can also hit backspace to just fully skip your turn if you want to
25:42 "these are perks they're in a bag"- 😂😂😂 Matt does drugs
Well now I want to see RCE play Slay the Spire. This game was clearly inspired by it but with a claw machine instead of a deck of cards.
Can probably get him to play Spire 2 next year.
@@BishopStars Good point! Hopefully.
Yes! Slay the Spire is brilliant.
Oh! That title is similar to a game called Sort the Court, and I don't think Matt's played that!
We should start a petition

Honestly, I think I prefer less editing like zooming and stuff. Also, it would make editing a lot easier
so cool that there are still creative new concepts for games

OH! so it's Peglin but a claw machine! VERY cool! :D
Did you know that many claw machines can be programmed to actually not grab as hard as they can? Most claw machines intentionally let go of things!

The trick to beating the moth boss is to not grab anything when its mirror buff is active, just hit the grab button early so it doesn't grab anything
I loved this video and I love this game.
Instead of attacking when he wasn't reflecting, you grabbed shields. You could've won 😢
Any architect could just say that engineers are bad at counting to ten (attacks) 😂😂
It's lucky the claw actually works and hold what ever is in it's grip pretty firmly and not just opening back up the second it hits the top! xD

Yeah, I've been watching the early release of this one for a bit now and I want it.

If only claw machines were this fun in real life...
funny how matt consideres aegislash among the "newest pokemon" lmao
only legends says that you can win "real" arcade games

Quick maths. 😂 Big Shaq.
RCE not reading that picking up the bigger sword and bigger shield by themselves makes their attack/defense do double the amount
You momentarily thinking it was an engineer pig was unbelievably cute.
3:42 it's a credit card, you can have negative coins. I'll let you draw the implications...
I've been playing a lot of this myself.
