Just some honest editing feedback in case I'm not the only one who feels this way. Certain cuts/zooms hide some of the action sometimes. I like the effect, but sometimes it comes at the expense of missing out on some things I would've liked to see For example, the zoom ins when the claw-ing is happening (10:27), are ok, because I am not missing any action anywhere else. But I don't like the zooming in on the enemies taking damage (10:33) because I can't see which item is in effect. Am I being picky ? Is it just me ?

It's the addiction of the "claw game" with the fact that you don't have to pay. It's like gacha games. Those, when you have free rolls on them, are essentially like roulette or slot machines without a cost and only a relative gain. So it's a maniacally devious application of addictive behaviors in a relatively "safe" environment and I don't know if it's a good or a bad thing. On one hand, I'm not gambling my life savings away. On the other hand, I'm wasting a lot of afternoons trying to get another build to work.
Didn't really get the items to do that build, that's the downside with these sorts of games you can't always do a planned build as the unlocks are random
@@RealCivilEngineerGaming That's also part of the addiction. Very few people in the world can/will just take a box of whatever and go, "Really? Shooooooooot. I'm game. Let's do this." and go start something from that. That's basically how this game goes. Play until about the first boss and then you have to have some semblance of what kind of build you're doing. Also, if you want to skip your turn (entirely, not just one grab. The whole thing,) you can hit backspace and it'll just go to the enemy's phase.
22:35 I was wondering if he would notice he didn't get the effects of wood objects because the dam absorbed them before the end of the run. The number of times he pointed out getting a 0 on something that had a chance to do 1-15 was frustrating.
The magnet can actually be detrimental when you only have claw grabbers and there are so many metal objects you can't grab the magnet itself. You end up just scraping a few items off the top.
I draw the line at 2. They could be upgraded, but no more than 2. If you get more than that they'll fight each other and cause problems like what Matt was experiencing. Also they help a bit, not a whole lot, when you're running a big item build. Big items like the armor, ax, hammer, and sickle. They work better with things like daggers and poison daggers, but when a hammer falls into the corner of the machine you basically you need a magnet to get it out of there.
Swapped Felina: you are the offense, the dam is a defense. 5:08 SHYO RUKEN! 14:20 Love the way you pronounce his CHIVALROUS NAME! 18:00 Rigged Casino Roulette 18:13 DAM!!! 21:42 Almost death 28:24 Almost clogged moment 28:35 YEET itself into the hole! And clog it! 29:18 Magnet Madness 30:27 Bypass DAM! Press Backspace Button to skip a turn
28:35 made me guffaw. If you want to see similar crazy effects with the magnet claw, swing the claw left and right so it is horizontal before it drops, if the claw is horizontal when it lands it can suck up all the metal items towards it, hilarious stuff
Poison beavers.....Sounds to me like some kind of new faction idea for Timberborn which would actually be super interesting. A faction that can only survive in badtides, some how. Dunno how they'd get wood and food, but the concept just sounds really interesting. Instead of blocking the badtide spawners you're more inclined to block the fresh water spawners... But yeah, RCE, don't go for the triple shield grab ever; or at least hedge your bets on it. Triple shield grabs in this game are the exception to the exceptions of the rules. They really shouldn't be happening, but they occasionally do. Also, while it's more or less of a gamble, it's some times worth swinging the claw before you drop it. Don't swing it to hard otherwise it might flip upside down and you can't get anything, but to get along the edge or through some crud, having one claw lead can work sometimes, but it's as much of a gamble as any other chance game. It works well with the magnet claw though since things on the back end of the magnet will tend to fall back into the machine while things on the front end will tend to fall into the chute.
Why is it everyone forgets that the dam takes wooden items to heal and get block for itself replacing the items normal effect? You're the third youtuber I've seen make the exact same mistake. Is the description of the character effect not clear, or is it just that the normal item effect still appears in the popover(which does take effect if the dam dies BTW if you are planning to use such items)?
The Picky buff is quite good to have because it gives some nice strategic options. Since it double the output if you pick only one item, you can use it in those cases where you need to good dose of damage and can grab say a single sword or warhammer. I used this strategy in my last play and it worked quite well.
I think when everything went flying to the ceiling to the right, the reason the whole clump might not have gone in might have been because you didn't "officially" drop stuff yet in the chute, presenting an invisible wall until the claw opens
For the boss with 10 reflects, that boss loses all of its block for one turn each cycle of its abilities. The best way to deal with it is to focus on defense and buff items during the turns the reflect is on, and then go all out attack for the turn the reflect goes away.
The beaver gets a lot stronger if you shred 7-8 of the shields. You can almost never pick up more than 2 of them anyway, so the rest actually just get in the way of the other items you want to pick up
wait until he finds out he was on the last boss! :D although i gotta give some real credit to the game devs, bc they have an endless mode after downing the boss! Love this idea, and cant wait for the full version!
I guess you are new to the cahnnel, mate. Otherwise, you would've known, that his method is as follows: Skip instructions/text -> Do what seems right -> pick shiny things -> realize sth doesn't work -> go back to instructions/text -> facepalm. That's basically RCE's pattern for all games xD
