The reason your attacks were doing more damage than they said was because that character gains 2% damage buff for each item in your deck, so the more you collect the more damage you do. As for the garbage bin, that doesn't gain the damage of what it collects, it gains a set amount of damage for each item it collects. The credit card would do more damage on it's own because the bin would gain like 5 damage for picking it up but the card would do 100.
This is where transmuting comes into play. A wooden credit card lets you use it without it getting trashed. Meanwhile you can change (RCE acclaimed) metal forks into plastic for more fun.

Not quite. He gets 2% bonus damage for each item in your deck, meaning the more junk you get for rewards, from the pachinko machines, from Hare L. Quinn's bonus games, the higher damage bonus he'll get. If you shred things, he loses his bonus and he doesn't gain any damage bonus for things he removes or things added to the machine by enemies. That being said, he works really well with my Junk Jet + Hoarder combo. Everytime stuff is put into the machine after the initial filling, it deals damage to an enemy. You get to add more stuff from your deck with Hoarder, but if you don't actually grab anything then there's nothing to add at the beginning of next turn....Except Greg takes half of what's in the machine and takes it away, meaning you'll always have something to put in the machine by the beginning of next turn.

Some upgrades cost more than others, so you generally want to use free upgrades for the expensive ones. Also: strength ftw :D it's one part of the reason why the damage is higher than you expect. Strengh can go quite exponential when done right. But it only works well with multiple multipliers. AFAIK strengh combines well with crit, vampire effects, the pet cat, and probably some other effects that I forgot. So these were my two reason why skipping the amulet upgrade hurt just a tiny bit :P Very much enjoying the dungeon clawler videos, I hope you keep them coming!

Come on Matt, I know you make money based on minutes of content watched but go into settings and up that speed to ultra. Playing like this makes me feel like I set YT up to play back at 0.25 speed without your voice being distorted.
this game is kinda difficult for me, i just dont know what items and perks are good for the character im playing, been able to get to the last boss but he just facerolls me with like 900 dmg hits lol
