Ya alot of school are different man. Some schools are actually like school others... It's like you just cut hair and the students help each other out(like mine.) guys be there for like 10 years cause they make bank not having to pay for a chair. But for real man it helps lookin round.

I just went to legacy barber college to take a tutorial to see what its like to be a barber and I will definitely want to set my goal to be success on my journey of my life to begin with once I become a barber trimmer in the future. I herd it’s like going to high school all over again
Yea I feel you Man I was working for Walmart too before I left a couple of months ago but, it depends on what you consider hard. For me the cutting aspect wasn’t what so ever I love cutting hair so every time I could was exciting. The hard part for me is growing my clientele bc of how new I am! But with time will everything fall in place. But nah I haven’t experienced anyone being mean but everyone’s situation can be different but don’t let a fear of someone being mean stop you from doing what you love! And it isn’t like high school at all but I personally loved high school so it really is Just preference❗️ think of it like this, you are their for 8 hours doing what you want. You chose what you do in those 8 hours. At least that is how my school works! But I wish you the best of luck man ‼️

Some things that really helped me and still help me to this day is to be your own biggest critic, take pictures of every haircut and start to train your eye to see all of the flaws! The more you see yourself making mistakes the more you are learning! Watch a lot of videos and if you kno any barbers ask a lot of questions. The more practice you get the better you will get it’s all about repetition. Wish you the best of luck man!

Bro at my school in 04 first off we weren’t allowed to touch our clippers until we mastered blending with shears.Our school is very old school but also one of the top schools on east coast I’d go as far as saying we are the best school.First day I was using razor sharp shears on regular hairs cuts. Ngl I don’t think I really used my clippers for sum weeks.I went to beauty school to to learn color and just learn all I could.There we used manicans which suck they don’t even come close to a live customer

Lol no they definitely work your way up, at least at my school. But I always recommend going straight on real people. I think there is no better way to learn then on the real thing.

I know exactly how you feel, I had a lot of the same questions when I started! But one thing I would tell you that is more important is, is this something you truly want to do? Because we don’t want to waste any of our time! Everything else out of the picture, would you want to be a barber. If the answer is truly yes I say do it regardless of the requirements! At least that is how I looked at it. I loved barbering and cutting hair it didn’t matter to me how long it would take or anything! But it depends state to state, here in California it is 1500 hours with the max weekly amount you could do was 40 hours. Everyone has there own timeline on when they get good if they thought it was hard. But if you truly want to do this I don’t think any Of that matters! Also make sure to believe in yourself! You can accomplish anything you put your mind to. You got this man regardless of what it is, you have what it takes to succeed!
They supply you with clippers when you in barberschool, when you pay for your tuition it comes with that. But you don’t always get it right away. So depending on your situation, I would consider getting some cheap clippers just so you can practice before school too if you wanted!
You gonna have to mess up 100 + times before actually really start getting better so their no reason to be afraid just make sure you find someone that actually wants to give you the chance to learn and get better

I am not sure you are able to get classes or go to school for it bc you are so young bc I think you need a highschool diploma before you can enroll but you can take courses but I would recommend just watching RUclips and just get as much practice as you can so you can be a beast once your older

It is definitely harder then it seems just because the better you get the more picky and detail oriented you get but I have talked to high level barbers and they tell me they didn’t really really start feeling comfortable until like 3 to 5 years in the game! I would just say be patient everyone has they own process just grind it out I think it’s a great opportunity and if it’s for you, then you can do a lot with it man starting now would be the best timing ‼️

In order to get your barber license you need a high school diploma. But check with your state or where you are everywhere is different! But don’t let that stop you from cutting hair keep on going!

If you do not plan to do this as a career then I definitely would not recommend going to school! You can definitely become very skilled barber without going to school and teaching yourself forsure!
No not at all! You will learn everything you need to know at school! And you will even learn it quicker because you will be around so many people that know every single day!
I probably spent a month or two before barber school really practicing and taking the time to learn everything about my craft! I would cut my own hair for practice, friends, family, go pass out flyers anything for practice to just continue to get better! I am still continuing to improve till this day! Never stops

Ofc, anyone of any size can be a barber! You don’t ever have to worry. You may want to make sure you have a good chair though so you can pump your clients pretty high

Mmm it kind of Depends on the person tbh! But it took me about 8 months to a year before I started getting really busy once I started working full time. You can be much faster then me though if you focus on the right things

I am not sure to be honest! I don’t live in Nigeria so I am not sure what the laws are or requirements are in that country! But I recommend doing some research and seeing what the requirements are for your area!
I think it’s best to start as soon as possible! Find a school and apply and while you are waiting for when you can start, start tryna cut your own hair or your friends who ever will let you beat of luck

I would recommend to cut your own hair like every week or whenever you get the chance that way you always have practice

I am not sure you are able to get classes or go to school for it bc you are so young bc I think you need a highschool diploma before you can enroll but you can take courses but I would recommend just watching RUclips and just get as much practice as you can so you can be a beast once your older

It is definitely harder then it seems just because the better you get the more picky and detail oriented you get but I have talked to high level barbers and they tell me they didn’t really really start feeling comfortable until like 3 to 5 years in the game! I would just say be patient everyone has they own process just grind it out I think it’s a great opportunity and if it’s for you, then you can do a lot with it man starting now would be the best timing ‼️

In order to get your barber license you need a high school diploma. But check with your state or where you are everywhere is different! But don’t let that stop you from cutting hair keep on going!

If you do not plan to do this as a career then I definitely would not recommend going to school! You can definitely become very skilled barber without going to school and teaching yourself forsure!

I probably spent a month or two before barber school really practicing and taking the time to learn everything about my craft! I would cut my own hair for practice, friends, family, go pass out flyers anything for practice to just continue to get better! I am still continuing to improve till this day! Never stops

Ofc, anyone of any size can be a barber! You don’t ever have to worry. You may want to make sure you have a good chair though so you can pump your clients pretty high

Mmm it kind of Depends on the person tbh! But it took me about 8 months to a year before I started getting really busy once I started working full time. You can be much faster then me though if you focus on the right things

I work full time at night. 11pm-7am. I can cut my hours and cut and keep a few days with my current job until I build clients.

I am not sure to be honest! I don’t live in Nigeria so I am not sure what the laws are or requirements are in that country! But I recommend doing some research and seeing what the requirements are for your area!
