Yep. It is optical and I have had no issues using it, even while doing some light gaming

@@thatguy69888 yep works like a charm, dropped it few time but it still stands. Its sturdy and the scroll is so satisfying. Good buy imo, relatively cheap, comfortable, and sturdy
