Their tools are cheaper than any of those vices you mentioned. I have a Bauer brand 6ft locking tape measure that I carry everywhere. I purchased it at Harbor Freight for a whopping $1.99 plus tax more than 5 years ago. I have dropped it numerous times but it operates flawlessly to this day.
@niacal4nia, "Someone asked me why I don't quit drinking, I told em' I'm not a quitter!" 😁 Just busting your chops my friend. Keep On Keepin' On & Keep Your Head Up, Ya Dig? ++Peace, Funk & Rock n' Roll 4 Your Soul++ 🤘😜🤘
One of my best tools for sliver removal and knife sharpening is a jewelers eye lupe magnifiers. Set of 5, from 2x to 10x was $5 at HF. Even more useful now at 77 years.
My personal favorite is the $9.95 Yellow Plastic Miter Box with Saw. I had to sell all of my expensive tools when I got old and down sized to a Condo. Needed one of these for small projects. I couldn't believe the accuracy of this for the price. The Saw alone is well worth the price. Also the small size allows simple storage in a drawer.
Wow...I've been addicted to HF for some time but never knew about the adjustible wrench for angle grinders. Even if you have the same brand (as I do, having purchased several on sale and even gotten a couple for free) but different years, the hole pattern changes and it's one of the most irritating things in the shop to not be able to easily replace a worn cutoff wheel mid-job because of a stupid millimeter difference. Also -- I never buy the 4" or 6" magnetic trays; they come up for free on sales a few times a year.
HF has a telescoping pen style tool with a round magnet on the end. SUPER useful for picking up small screws/nuts etc that have fallen on the floor, rolled under a workbench etc. Great addition to any shop.
I bought the $20 Warrior angle grinder a couple of years ago (it is one model "better" than the $10 version you cite). I haven't had much use for it but it seems to work fine.
The ten dollar grinders like to spit metal out of the motor at you. The red Bauer when they are on sale are nicer than my fifty dollar Makita. I keep three grinders loaded. One thin .cutter, one grinder and a flap attack😂.. They were less than 20 on sale
My first use for the hook and pick set was to remove a splinter from my hand. They gave me the 4-in-1 screwdriver free at the register. I can vouch for the ongoing search for a 10mm socket. So many never leave the holder but the 10mm, 12mm, 9/19, 1/2, and 5/16 are always misplaced. I wouldn't mind a set of socket bars to gather each size in it's various configurations. I'm the kind of man who likes all his hand tools on a wall for easy access within arm's reach.
Their woodworking clamps should be on everyone's list! Just like anything from HF, they may not be at the top of everyone's list as far as quality goes, but they have never let me down, and a guy can *never* have too many (or even enough) clamps! 💯
My favorite HF stuff is The free 5 gallon buckets The 4 in one screwdriver The cyclone dust separator I didn't know about the angle grinder tool. I'll have to grab one.
I just got a 3 pack of Pittsburgh (lifetime warranty ) stubby ratchets for $9.99 . I put them in my truck toolbox and will be going to get another set for my car.
The cheap picks work just fine, no reason to spend $18 more for the icon. The flipping screw driver will rust solid. I never use a wrench in the grinding disc unless it’s a 9” grinder, no need on 4-5”. The transfer punch are a great time saver and helps greatly with accuracy, just don’t use them to make a deep punch mark, just a light mark is all that is needed. The locking pliers are ok but the release isn’t the best. Great if you want to weld onto them for custom applications. I just bought the 10mm set, it’s a great addition to the tool box. One of the best purchases. Now if only one could buy every size of sockets in sets like that. I have the magnetic trays all over the place, just got one of the silicone trays, it needs a magnet too.
The magnetic bowls and trays are OK until the Chineseum adhesive releases the bowl or tray. Then you have a stainless bowl/tray that a magnet won't stick to unless it has something ferrous in it. I have multiple magnets with no bowls.
Mine came apart and I glued it back together. I can't remember what I used. I only have CA glue and that 6000 stuff in the silver tube. But it worked great.
@@a9ball1 CA glue (otherwise known as Krazy Glue or super glue) comes in handy quite often. I always have several tubes around, I find the best deal to be the red tubes with the black top and white spout at Dollar Tree.
@@mharris5047 that's interesting. Every time I buy it from the dollar store it never dries. I buy the 3 tube pack from Harbor freight when they are on sale for 99 cents. Couple years ago I bought a bottle of it from Amazon and I never used much of it before it got too old. So now I buy the cheap stuff.
I got so many Doyle and Icon pliers last week with 30% off under $20. Also the 4 in 1 screwdrivers are free about 4 times a year, just keep an eye out.
I really really really wish they made 8mm and 12mm versions of the essential socket sets. If you have a pressure washer their stubby gun is a must-have upgrade, I think it's $25 which if so means it often can be had under $20 during sales. I really like the Quinn ratchets, best compromise for me between junky and overpriced, and they don't turn the "wrong" way like the Pittsburgh. Most of my hand tools are old Craftsman from '80's and '90's and HF's midgrade brands are usually in line with them for quality. A lot of Icon is getting borderline overpriced for a basic home user like me but they have a set of Icon extra-long 1/4", 3/8" extensions which at around twenty bucks with their occasional 30%/40%-off coupons is super nice to have, very nice quality and it sure beats linking your five other extensions together to get the reach.

I used to work at harbor freight and yes it's hit and miss with their tools. If you need it for one job or rare use, great, better than spending 10X the price for quality that never gets used. As a general rule the fewer moving parts, the safer the buy.
Good rule of thumb: If it involves strength, precision or safety...stay far away from Horrid Freight. Hello Making Stuff I just found your channel and subscribed. The only thing I can think of to add to your list. The silicone trays from Harbor Freight. I don't know the prices. They range in sizes. Thank you 😊
Mallets? I'm familiar with the one pound (no pun intended) and the double sided 3 ounce mallets. Go to for me. There are a few dead blow mallets under $20 also.
I love harbor freight tools and no one will ever convince me otherwise I know they break a lot but I don't use one tool enough times for the break so many times that a $20 tool is worth replacing for a $400 tool from snap-on it just doesn't make any sense to me. And in the rare case I do use a tool that I break a lot then I will invest in another tool company I like Craftsman or something like that but I'm not a snap on Mac Go Fanboy and or any of that and it's been proven time and time again that the only thing snap on makes good is their tool boxes. And by the way did you all see the viral video of the snap-on or maybe it was a matco sales representative you know the guy that drives around from automotive shop to automotive shops selling your tools he did a combination wrench test on some plastic thing against a Pittsburgh wrench from harbor freight. And the snap-on wrench slip before the harbor freight one did it has got to be the most embarrassing sales moment in history😅😅😅. You can get a whole set Pittsburgh ranches for under $20 or about $20 give or take depending on where you live or you can pay $500 for a set of snap-on wrenches that don't work any better than a Pittsburgh wrench. And if you are the kind of Fanboy that needs proof of everything I'm talking about well lucky for you that there is a non-biased channel out there called project farm where he compares all tool brands to see what is the best he is not sponsored by any company every tool he buys he buys with his own money and it's very surprising sometimes the expensive tool wins and sometimes the dollar store tool wins but to be quiet honest but the tool that wins most of the time is the tool in the middle like kobalt Craftsman tools like that. Don't believe me watch for yourself. The only thing this doesn't seem to apply to is motor oil you always want to get the best brand of motor oil you possibly can for your type of vehicle because in the end that does make a huge difference Dollar store oil or recycled oil will not cut it it just doesn't have the same wear protection as Mobil 1 or some of those other better brands and by the way that brand purple motor oil is complete garbage. He proves that time and time again. The only thing that motor oil is good for is making sure your motor is blowing up at the end of a race😂😂😂 and I'm not just saying that literally the recycled oil you get from Walmart or dollar store outperform purple oil. Oh and if you got an older vehicle the best motor oil on planet Earth is Mobil 1 advanced restore and protect I think it's what it's called or mobil one restore something like that has the word restore in it and mobile one bought a 20-year-old vehicle and use their mobile one advanced and restore or whatever it's called and with regular maintenance and changing your oil properly they ran that 20 year old vehicle over a half a million miles That's not including the miles that were put on the vehicle beforehand. And even if the vehicle was brand new a half a million miles is quite impressive for just a 4-cylinder by the way and they had the speedometer set at 80 miles an hour so this car was going 80 miles an hour with just the bare minimum maintenance of a oil change air filter maybe spark plugs stuff like that and it was a half a million miles before a four cylinder motor decided to give out on itself and to me that's quite impressive I wish they would have did it with a Honda cuz I know that Honda would have made it to a million miles they used if I remember correctly some European small vehicle might have even been a 3 cylinder for all I know I'm just guessing the four-cylinder. And for the record I'm not a DIYer I literally own a handyman service a pet care service and a landscaping service as well as a tree removal service. So I know my way around tools very much so. The only time I will ever justify buying a name brand like Stihl Husqvarna or something like that is when it comes to landscaping products because you really do get your money's worth out of those like chainsaws lawn mowers leaf blowers weed wackers it's got to be sthl or Husqvarna all the way. However I have found a hack when it comes to a chainsaw and you won't believe it I got a chainsaw it's 80cc comes with a 24-inch bar and chain and I hate to admit it but not only did it last longer than both my steel and Husqvarna chainsaw it out performed it like it was going out of style and yes I am comparing all three chainsaws had a roundabout the same size motor the exact same size bar and chain yeah this 135.00 chainsaw I bought off of Amazon is just destroying these upper brands of chainsaws. However if you do buy this chainsaw I highly recommend the first thing you do is replace the bar in the chain because while you are getting a really nice chainsaw for a very discounted price they did have to cut the money and quality of work somewhere and it looks like they did that in the bar and chain because everything else works perfectly. and I can't remember the name exactly of my chainsaw but it's called purple something if it's somebody wants to really know what the name of the brand of this chainsaw is replied to this comment and I'll either send the link or leave you the name of the exact chainsaw that I bought. 135.00 chainsaw after you buy a bar and a chain probably about 200 bucks outperforming a 6,700 chainsaws pretty impressive if you ask me. Oh and by the way I bought this purple chainsaw before I bought the sthl and Husqvarna. And the purple chainsaw just still just keeps on going it's like the Honda of chainsaws can't nothing stop it. The only thing I'm really disappointed in about this purple chainsaw company is that 80 cc's is is big of a chainsaw as I could find which is fine in the sense that it will get 95% of the trees I work on cut down but it sure would be nice to have like a hundred and twenty-five CC chainsaw made by this purple chainsaw company and I guarantee if you go on Amazon and you just type in purple chainsaw you'll probably find out that chainsaw I'm talking about I just can't remember the name of it off the top of my head purple is literally in the name of the company for all I know that might be the exact name of the company I just I would have to look at it I've had it so long I can't remember now all my employees just referred to it as the purple chainsaw that could😂😂😂. And before I hype up this chainsaw anymore and I already have I don't know if this is a one-off I got lucky or they are really just a good brand I have only bought one of their chainsaws so far however I am getting ready to buy four more but finding the 80cc chainsaws are impossible but they do have a lot of I believe 68 CC chainsaws or 63 CC chainsaws with a 20-inch bar on it I don't really remember if I can't find the 80cc chainsaws I'm going to have to just buy the smaller versions but we'll see if you guys really want to know the company and you can't find it yourself let me know and no I'm not talking about the chainsaw is just purple the company name is literally called purple something and yes the chainsaw is purple. But that's not why I call it the purple chainsaw I called the purple chainsaw because that's literally the name of the company or something like that like I said if you really want to know the name of the company of this change so I can look at my chainsaw and I'll post it below in the comment section
Ya know, their flux mig welders are not bad for little 110v, their multi process (Stick, mig&tig) arent too bad for entry level and getting the aluminum mig gun kit is AWESOME. There are a SHITTON of small MONEY MAKING projects that multi process can do easily!!!👍
Got it, got it, don't got it, got it, got it, don't got it, got em, Guess I'll pick up the don't gots when I stop in for a couple of bundles of red shop towels
Im a master plumber , I own and buy alot of fucking tools. The predator motors are great. All their generators are good. Also their Hercules and Buer hammerdrills and jack hammers are also very good. I use the Buer shop vacs, have been for years. They are awesome and last forever. I do not get any power tools or hand tools from Harbor Freight. Waste of money if you are a pro and use the fk out of them.
I literally just went to HF yesterday to see if they sold a replacement tool for changing wheels on my HF grinder. The guy told me they didn't sell them but I could try to call corporate or check on ebay. Your link shows the adjustable one in stock.
There avanti paint brushes are just about as good as purdy brushes...sharpening stones...gloves...self centering drill bits for those hinges instead of a transfer punch...there circ saw blades and sawzall blades are the same as milwaukee...and ppe items....nuts and bolts screws, rivets, orings...are all 4.99-5.99...togglebolts.
The only item I don’t have on the list is the clamp. The transfer punch set saves a lot of almost fitting bolt patterns or hunting for an offset shank bolt. If you haven’t wished for an off set bolt you haven’t bolted enough stuff together or have had a transfer punch set a long time. No metric punches needed as 1/32 inch increments gets mighty close to most metric sizes. 😊
Harbor Freight is the king of trash tools. Example: I bought a pack of assorted diameter drill bits and all of them were dull. One was even slightly bent. So, when you roll it on the table it had a noticeable wobble. Every tool I ever got from HF was either returned of dropped in the trash. HF = no thanks.
I buy alot of their two part clear epoxy. It is worth the money and works great. And their work gloves also the blue latex gloves I use alot. It is hit or miss with harbor freight alot of stuff is just total Chinese garbage.
Your loss. HF is great for consumables. And some of their hand tools are starting to seriously rival higher dollar options…like equal/better performance w/o the Tool Truck price tag.
I've got a set of Pittsburgh sockets, metric and standard, regular and deep which I bought sometime around 2004 which I still use today. Many engines were assembled and many cars built or repaired with those sockets. I even abuse them with impact guns, too. Haven't broken or damaged one yet.
your list is a total waste of time. Many items are give a way items and I've gotten them for free. The wrench spanner comes with every grinder I have ever bought, so why not use the one that came with it? The tape you showed I must have three or four of them for free along with the screwdriver you also showed. I must have at least four of them. The magnetic trays are not ideal because eventually the magnet lets go of the tray but I have many because I got them also for free. You must spend a lot of money is all I have to say!!
If you didn't get the end of the video, then you fast forward too much. LOL!
Nicely done! Nicely done, indeed!!

Nice of you to do this. Going to look for it now, then come back. Thank you!
You can get the 6 in 1 and mag dish for free once in a while. I have several of each @no cost.
Thanks for the tip!
My harbor freight doesnt carry the 10mm socket set
Got it, got it, don't got it, got it, got it, don't got it, got em,
Guess I'll pick up the don't gots when I stop in for a couple of bundles of red shop towels
💖the ending 🤪🙊🙉🙈
Thanks for watching!
OMG, I have never seen the 10 mm sockets in the Harbor Freight.
That measuring tape has an attitude on her. He was interested despite her off putting green color. She’s lucky he wasn’t a shallow 10mm….
Smokey, my friend.. You're entering a world of pain. You mark that frame an 8, you're entering a world of pain. A world, of pain.
Has the whole world gone crazy!
@@MakingStuffThey’re calling the cops, man…
It's a league game Smokey.
Harbor freight has a website
Just giving people options. Thanks for watching.
I've been going to Harbor Freight for decades some of their stuff is absolutely garbage some of their stuff is pretty
Yes they do have some garbage. I consider these to be the good deals. Thanks for watching!
Years ago HF had a lot of garbage, but their tools have really improved.
Great ending! When I die, my kids will inherit a million dollars… in TAPE MEASURES!
Yeah I just bought another 2 pack of them on black friday. They are almost as bad as the 10mm sockets.
I literally just went to HF yesterday to see if they sold a replacement tool for changing wheels on my HF grinder. The guy told me they didn't sell them but I could try to call corporate or check on ebay. Your link shows the adjustable one in stock.
That's awesome, glad this video was helpful!
👍🏽🇺🇸😢 love harbor freight
There avanti paint brushes are just about as good as purdy brushes...sharpening stones...gloves...self centering drill bits for those hinges instead of a transfer punch...there circ saw blades and sawzall blades are the same as milwaukee...and ppe items....nuts and bolts screws, rivets, orings...are all 4.99-5.99...togglebolts.
Pick set breaks first use.
I just go in and walk the alses until something jumps out at me!
List No. 1, I thought those are dental cleaning tools. So now I can scrape tartar and remove sesame seeds stuck between the teeth I wish to keep.
HF = no thanks.
One man's treasure is another man's junk!
I buy alot of their two part clear epoxy. It is worth the money and works great. And their work gloves also the blue latex gloves I use alot. It is hit or miss with harbor freight alot of stuff is just total Chinese garbage.
👍👍
Thanks for watching!
3/16 and 1/4 inch nut driver? Actually, its 1/4 and 5/16".
At least I got the /16 part right, LOL. Thanks for watching!
@MakingStuff
You're welcome. That multi tool screwdriver is one of my favorites, and I use it often.
Umm, that screwdriver also has another nut driver, the handle by itself !
Good point!
Those finger clamps need small welds where the habdle meets the clamplegs & then they are strong, or buy REAL VICEGRIP BRAND.
China could shut our whole country down if they quit shipping us 10mm sockets.
Unfortunately, I don’t shop at Harbor Freight. I can’t afford cheap tools.
Your loss. HF is great for consumables. And some of their hand tools are starting to seriously rival higher dollar options…like equal/better performance w/o the Tool Truck price tag.
Thanks for watching!
I've got a set of Pittsburgh sockets, metric and standard, regular and deep which I bought sometime around 2004 which I still use today. Many engines were assembled and many cars built or repaired with those sockets. I even abuse them with impact guns, too. Haven't broken or damaged one yet.
@elesjuan Pittsburgh is fairly good...I bought the 3/8 carbon ratchet...iv put it through heck..and the sweep is nice..
@ I’m looking after to buy all my hand tools at Sears
We have people elected in our country that sympathize with that dictator. Sad.
JUNK!
Coming in to the end...didn't make much of a whopping sense.
your list is a total waste of time.
