    Using a heat gun to custom fit PVC on dust ports is a great tip .

    • @BuildwithMooney
      @BuildwithMooney  6 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! I got it from a guy on RUclips he had a great tutorial basically just heating the pvc and reshaping it until it cools. Be careful once you heat it up once and have to work on the other end of the fitting it will want to return back to its original shape! It’s a little tricky, I found if you put the fitted piece you heated up first and leave it in while you heat up the other end so you don’t keep losing the shape over and over! I already made those mistakes for you! 😂

    There are a lot of recent bad reviews for the 6 in digital calipers within the last month or so with people saying all in the store had issues and maybe a bad batch on the shelves... recommendation is to try it out in the store before you leave if you decide to get one.

      I wasn't aware of this, thanks for bringing me up to speed much appreciated! I've had this one for about 4 years and it works good for me. I do recommend just pop the battery out when not in use will definitely give you better battery life or keep a spare works too. I wonder what was wrong, I'm guessing a bad display reading?

    • @BuildwithMooney
      @BuildwithMooney  10 дней назад

      Hi Jimmen, I've used these guns for paint, you have to thin the paint down so much it's a little annoying, but good for small projects a little patience will give you a great finish. Yes for clear and some stains I have sprayed. The stains are nice because no thinning required. For the price they are good little guns. I have a Graco airless I use mainly for the bigger paint jobs, or I just paint by hand.

    Harbor Freight has a bad reputation for having “junk” merchandise. Some stuff there isn’t the best, I know that from experience, but a lot of their items are good for your DIYer and their top tier stuff would be fine in a professional setting I feel. Just know the tools limitations and take care of them. I don’t think their reputation is justified and it seems like they are turning out more and more mid to higher end quality tools. Hopefully their bad rap starts to go away.

    • @BuildwithMooney
      @BuildwithMooney  5 месяцев назад +1

      Donnie you said it perfectly! I think Harbor Freight's name is probably the best it's ever been in my opinion. What do you think? Back when I worked in the trades in the late 80's I never even went into a HF. I think it's a cool store and you already said it, just know your tools and limitations. I agree it's such a great store especially for the beginner and DIYer. Thanks for your input, much appreciated and thanks fore the conversation.

    • @donnie017
      @donnie017 5 месяцев назад +3

      @@BuildwithMooney Honestly, I think a lot it is a "follow the crowd" mentality. I work with people who have never ventured into a HF but ask me why I buy their "junk" 🤔🤣. It's the popular thing to say. And then on the other side of the spectrum, you may have 6'6" dudes that work in a diesel shop complaining that the mid tier Bauer impact isn't up to their expectations. That particular tool isn't really "made for them", you know what I mean? It's geared towards me when I rotate my Jeep tires once a year and put my wife's snow tires on her SUV. Expectations vs limitations should be fairly parallel lines but I think sometimes people's visions cause them to be, say, a little more perpendicular.

    Americans should do their BEST to avoid buying Harbor Freight products. They are an anti American CCP company and anti firearm company although they sell related safes and such. I am not against the Chinese people just their government which is who you would be supporting. Do you best to support Americans. Thanks.

      Hey John,
      I like your thinking, but reality is that it's hard for people in these trying times and if all someone can afford is Harbor Freight tools, I'm thankful HF is there for anyone who needs it. Let's be real here, very few tools are made in the USA. Companies you think are US a=made are not!
