Absolutely. A game changer in video game storytelling. One clear sign of an excellent game is that even the people who don't like horror nor video games still want to know how the story unfolds. A bit less action and a bit more focus story, thank you. 9/10.
Played on Ps5 and I didn't have anything like those bugs or graphical hiccups. It ran great. The gameplay was unnerving and the story was engaging. I loved it and I can't wait for NG+ and the DLC
I truly loved playing this game. I am very excited to see what new game plus brings as well as the DLCs. There are some things that could absolutely be improved but the passion and love they put into this is undeniable.
Yep. Only thing bad about it is the combat. It's like what they gathered from how most people disliked too much combat in the first... was to just get rid of it. Removing 90% of the combat and making the enemies slightly harder does not a survival horror make, and I hope they go ham with ng+ It didn't affect my playthrough, because I went in just for the story, just like the first, but it left me a little sad I didn't start it on hard... So, I'm going back and playing 1 and Control and replaying this on hard. Lol.
Spectacular game. The final emotional impact is way bigger than any specific issue with mechanics. I don’t think the combat is that bad, especially if you crank up the difficulty. Ammo and health scarcity really pumps the anxiety Problems aside, to me it is a must play.
Fair Points, though about the worst Saga level you pointed out. If you're not fear adverse (which I think this game is more thriller than horror, I could see that whole level being boring and cumbersome), but the intention is to be scared, walking slowly, being careful and intaking more atmosphere from the game rather than combat in my opinion, not disagreeing with you that the combat and bosses are stale, I just don't think that was their competency in the game. I think the experience is unique and heavily cinematic if anything, it's fresh though combat may not be compared to its previous titles, especially the level with Gods of Asgard playing in the theatre, that in itself was a treat-like concert.
SPOILER WARNING Good points about Saga's level; thanks for the engaging response! Regarding Alan's Theatre level; I didn't include any footage or talk specifically on that level in order to avoid spoilers...but damn that level is extremely good. One of the reasons why I had to mention Alan's part of the game sectioned off is near perfect imo.
I cant believe most commenters here love this movie in games clothing I see now why gaming is getting so bad in todays world if you buy this crap and eat this turd of a so called game, then it looks like turds gonna be on the top of the menu for good, simple minds, I guess its time for me to go back to retro because I don't eat shit ENJOY!
Bad combat, bad storytelling( too many mistake), bad caseboard qnd gameplay system, too many game director personal preference. (Me me me, i want music video, i want me appear on every poster, i want in important scene!) No one would want to play this game second time. And stop telling this AW2 is nothing people ever see in game history blah blah blah, it sound's like a noob who are just born yesterday and pick up the game controller.
I've been playing video games since I was 2. Obviously starting out easy with games like Spyro moving on up into other things I'm currently playing elden ring because I finished Alan Wake 2. I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy it but that is just your opinion. There are plenty us who thoroughly enjoyed Alan Wake 2 bosses and combat aren't always Remedy's strongest suit but the story I find to be incredibly compelling complex and intriguing. And Sam Lake got to be Alex Casey because they originally used his face for Max Payne and in a way it is an Easter egg/call back but in a way that still ties that character into the world. Just because you didn't enjoy a game doesn't mean you should go around insulting people who do. You just sound like ass.
@jubileechambers2604 Telling people you start playing game since you are 2 doesn't mean you are smart or expert or experienced, people can be phd still stupid as hell.
@@violau8550 I think it serves as a good contrast to the more tense sections. Horror is often a bit too bound to the genre and it can result in a boring game.

Played on hard then on story, can confirm its a entirely different game on hard
Weird i hated control combat and loved alan wake 2

Alan Wake 2 is an experience… I don’t think I can judge it until the DLC is out. Dope review btw.
Thank you! It is definitely quite the unique experience.
Hey nice job on this review! Will have to see if this game is too scary for my liking
Thank you! It’s definitely spooky.
The cliff-hanger ending may be setting up the NG+ mode that may have a different ending

Masterpiece and goty for me.
Great content. Does definitely look dreary like western Washington lol go Hawks!
Plays fine on the RoG Ally, and LLGo.
New game + aka Final Draft has added story and a new ending
I liked Saga's part more. Sometimes Alan's were too annoying
Keep going, you'll get better at reviewing. 6/10.
Is Alan Wake 2 THAT Good no there you go easy

most people thought the musical was the best part though? Clearly it worked
@hachikuji_mayoi Yeah, now we know people play horror games is for musicals and make them smile.
