Paul McCartney - A Day In The Life\Give Peace A Chance Live at Anfield, Liverpool 1st June

- A Day in the Life is a song by the British rock band The Beatles. Written by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, it is the final track on the group's 1967 album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. The song comprises portions originally authored independently by Lennon and McCartney, two cacophonous, part-improvised, orchestra crescendos, and a sustained final piano chord. While Lennons lyrics were inspired by contemporary newspaper articles, McCartneys were reminiscent of his youth. The decisions to link sections of the song with orchestral crescendos and to end the song with a sustained piano chord were made only after the rest of the song had been recorded.
The supposed drug reference in the line Id love to turn you on resulted in the song initially being banned from broadcast by the BBC. The song is highly regarded by critics and is considered one of the most influential songs of all time. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked "A Day in the Life" at number 26 on the magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Since its original album release, "A Day in the Life" has been released as a B-side, and also on various compilation albums. It has been covered by other artists including Bobby Darin, Neil Young, Jeff Beck, The Bee Gees, and since 2008, by Paul McCartney in his live performances
Love the big smile on Yoko's face, when Paul starts "Give peace a chance"!
You can say what you want about her, but this is a nice moment.
Beau geste.
It so cute to see Yoko smiling when Give Peace a Chance starts
Well you'll really be happy if someone started singing the song you and you're husband wrote
@@miguelmanzano3960 especially when he is literally Paul fucking McCartney. Leave it to a beatle to make it how John would have wanted.
john is smiling up there somewhere.. good job macca
haha...Paul forget the lyrics at 2:47 singing: "made the bus in seconds flat, found the bus in seconds flat.", then laughed it off...how cute of him...=)
It's funny how he messed up his own bit instead of John's! Great concert!
John and Paul not only changed music, but pop culture, and society as well. I'm a musician because of Paul. Seeing him in Pittsburgh last week was one of the greatest 3 hours of my life. John Lennon and Paul McCartney, probably 2 of the most important men to have changed the 20th and 21st century..
i'm gonna see him in december 3th and i'm so excited!
How can Paul sing Give Peace a Chance without bursting into tears? He's awesome. I try to sing along and I just cry.
he's crying inside. ik what it's like to for the one your dead love ones, it makes your heart bleed, but the premise of them having a smile in heaven is what keeps you going.
McCartney broke down everytime he performs here today though
what a lovely thing to say, I feel exactly the same. The Beatles are timeless, kids today love them still, just like 40 years ago.
Though I wasn't born yet when the Beatles were in their prime, I was introduced to their music at a young age. The first 45 record I bought was "Hey Jude." There's no doubt that their music is timeless nor that the songwriting duo of John Lennon and Paul McCartney is among the most successful in history.
R.I.P. John hard to believe it has been 33 years
Nearly 36 now~
39 years now
39 years now
This December 40

they know how to sing at anfield, and I love Yoko smiling, that woman didn't deserve all the hate
Was there right at the front that night. And i had tears in my eyes as soon as this magical song started. Its always been my fav song ever and this was the first time paul had played it at a concert. A night i will never forget ive seen paul in concert several times. Bu this night was the best!!!
I love it when you hear the crowd sing along
I like seeing Yoko smile, she deserves to be happy even if she actually did cause the Beatles to break up. If she did it, the damage made was paid with her pain seeing her husband fall with 5 bullets in his back. She deserves to be happy again...
tempo2015 No she didn't hahahahaha
I know this is years old, but Yoko was not the cause. Great comment though; she does deserve happiness after all this time.
Ik I agree plus if it wasn't for her we wouldn't have had a lot of johns great music
@@50ShadesOfEndo ☮️
I like good people. You are one.
Thank you Paul for the music
LOL Paul goofed getting on the bus but what a great recovery:) I wish I could see him someday, Dam what a great man of music!!!!!
The Beatles........Thank you for existing.
this is the first time that i see so many old people in a concert... paul rocks
From watching this video, reading the comments and hearing from others born in Britain, there's no doubt of the impact that Paul and the Beatles had on music history. Though I wasn't born in the 1960s when the Beatles were in their prime, I think it's safe to say that for those in the States, they marked the city of Liverpool, England. I had the pleasure of seeing both Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr on separate occasions. Paul had performed for three hours without an intermission and returned for three encores; this was in 2011. Ringo also performed without an intermission at an outdoor theater while it was raining--I remember he'd mentioned about being born in Liverpool [where rainy weather was common], saying, "You call THIS rain? Ha!" Right then, it started POURING but the show continued with people in ponchos and carrying umbrellas. Nevertheless, Ringo put on quite a performance. I remember thinking that I'd just seen two of the Beatles put on incredible shows; if I'd seen all four of them, it would have been a dream come true. Thanks Paul and Ringo for the great memories...rest in peace John and George.
Saw Macca last night here in Chile and all I can say is:
Mind-blowing stuff.
I just wish for one more day of George and John still living to hear their voices in harmony with Paul one last time.
I ve watched him in Sao Paulo, and it was amazing!
caramba, me arrepiei e me emocionei muito vendo...
I'm gonna see him this August!! YAAAYYY!!!
Was there in the Kop end - best concert I've seen!!

i saw sir paul in san francisco a week ago best moments of my life
I cried..
LONG LIVE THEE, JOHN WINSTON LENNON!
give peace a chance!!!!🌻✌🙌✊
I love the section that McCartney wrote of A Day in the Life (woke up, got out of bed etc). To me, McCartney's 'A Day in the Life' was the fantastic 'You never give me your money' really.
Epic
great
miss ya John!
Great atmospheric performance, could only happen in Liverpool.
dar oportunidad a la paz.... gran verdad
oie zy
Thanks for the upload of a classic.
I've tried to do justice to another classic from The Beatles, GET BACK, with the posted music video, "40 years in 3 minutes" which condenses historical events and personal 8mm along with the Beatles' rooftop performance in a fast-moving montage. Enjoy.
The Beatles have conquered back in the old days but they are still the KINGS
I see him in August!
GIVE PEACE A CHANCE
woww.. I member when I went to go see him in coachella valley CA. I went from mexicali MX.. damn worth the 250 bucks I spent for the whole trip n.n
It's very nice to show Yoko Ono who is actually of Japanese descent while Paul is singing "the English Army had just won the war".
But Paul is great. I saw him in Leipzig and Berlin. And he's amazing.
Great!!! @3:34 Yoko smiled and together with Olivia started singing. When the daughter of Paul received an award, the three Beatles wives were there, Olivia Harrison, Yoko Ono Lennon and Barbara Starkey. Ohhh I love these families.
imagine a duet with john and paul right now singin a day in the life
1:31 .............. PAUL & JOHN THE BEST
go on....
Champions of Europe
fucking beautiful legend
from 2:59 to 3:29 what a great feeling
I love u Beatles
and I hate who destroyed u at last
yoko and olivia, they sure miss john and george
I've seen him twice, 1990 and 1993, the best concerts I've ever seen!! Yoko does not exactly looked thrilled does she?
he never used to sing "a day in the life" in his shows;the most incridible song of the beatles,i my opinion
only a legend can screw up the words to his own song ( 2:48 ) and go on like nothing happened.
yoko ono in there great. i wish john was alive to make great music. i have a bad but mine its bad. hes got the power of music.
If you guys blame Yoko for the end of The Beatles, i blame her for all the good solo stuff they did,
Thank you Yoko, i have a huge respect for you
They had problems before yoko
I don't know the expression "Oh my God!" I always say: "Oh my Paul!"
Paul McCartney: proof that there *is* a God.
I saw the news today, oh boy..
she was there because good people must give peace a chance
牧野さんは「僕のビートルズ音盤青春紀2」で「こんな実験的な曲を、世界中の人が、大合唱する日が来るとは、中学生の時の僕には思いもよらなかった」と書いてます。
@rocetsahoy He says "made the bus in seconds flat" twice
john would have appreciated this
Hey did anyone notice when Paul Mccartney gets the lyrics wrong at 2:46 . Its alright Paul you are still the best!
I wanna P.M concert in Hungary.
pls God, Paul
at 2:10 in the song Yoko Ono Lennon was shown in the audience so sad
for a long time i've had the the feeling that paul was a bit non-chalant about john's death, taking it in stride , but lately i think maybe he's starting to really realize what they were and what they had together, and i think deep down he really appreciates john's songs more than he ever made known; moreover; i think he just misses his friend the way they were when they were 'FAB'....might explain why he plays john's music more frequently
2:11 Ono approves
made the bus in seconds flat. made the bus in seconds flat......oopsies
lol ikr
@igalflint The British Army, the RAF and the royal Navy fought the japonese in Burma, Honkong, British Malaya and Singapore.
Anyway, the English army (and the Brasilian army too) was part of the allied troops that won world war II against Nazi-Germany and Japan.
if i wernt for yoko john would still be here today btw check out 2:46 in the song paul messes up an tryes to blend it lol
@LeipzigMod I think the point was just to show that she was in the audience since John wrote everything but the middle eight for this song. And the "English Army has just won the war" part refers to the movie John was in, "How I Won the War". I don't think focusing in on her was done on purpose....just saying.
This performance was a tribute to John, she was his wife..
Well, it's a tribute to John and she was his wife.
at 2:10 in the song Yoko Ono Lennon was shown in the audience so sad, i wonder if they would have had a reunion ??
I don't like Yoko Ono too much but it made me really happy to see her here.
wow even mccartney even gets the words wrong theres hope for the rest of us
@Slash1626 in toronto?! me to!!
Say what you will about Yoko (and trust me, I've said many a negative thing), I love the look on her face at 3:35. I think John would have found that whole situation to be nice, and I think that's pretty cool.
Gone too soon.....
@pilsener81 it would be great
seria buenisimo
pero creo q paul fue a sudamerica ya el 2009
but i think that paul went to sudamerica on 2009
We all need a little help from our friends
Was this a special tribute concert? Because Yoko Ono is there, and I believe that’s Olivia Harrison (George’s wife) next to her
2:59 - 3:29 :)
@arkantos020986 he is Paul that write more 100 songs....Lennon don't remember song's lines that he wrote...Lennon was faul?
this song is not the same without ringo's drumming...
@afkmusic Give Peace a Chance so give her that chance ;)
0:01
@LeipzigMod
he said "the english army";not he american army!
the english army had just won the war against Germany and not against Japan.Correct?
@LeipzigMod I hate to sound like a Beatles geek "the English army had just won the war" is reference to the movie John Lennon was in called "How I won the war". The next lyric is "a crowd of people turned away but I just had to look having read the book" because the movie sucked and no one went to see it reguardless of John Lennon's involvement.
@NanenMauricio He is coming to mexico the next month =)
poor yoko, he misses john =(
lol he said catched the bus in seconds flat twice, but thats ok hes PAUL MCCARTNEY!!!
Yoko Ono And Olivia Harrison 2:10
Yoko @ 1:33
Dam that john was murded he could be here and play with paul...
@Skyetraveler Agree, indeed. Age has a way of doing that.....to most, I would hope. Paul included (as you've well stated) plus the "EXPECTATIONS" (for lack of a better word) he HAD to have felt that particular night. So many potential "issues" involved....family wise, secondly, fan wise ect., after all we are talking about The Beatles. No Equal.....(my opinion only). Thanks.
Wasn't his mic a little too high for his mouth?
Do I like Yoko, no. Do I think she could have been a factor in the breakup of the Beatles, yes. But she was not what caused John's death. John loved her very much and I respect his thoughts.
Now every thing is good El Santísimo estaba enojado con ustedes porque nunca debés a tocar a una Persona que tiene una Cruz oh El Padre Ramón manda su gente contra ustedes
Liverpool FC YNWA
@afkmusic hahahahha I can't believe you caught that!! WTF is wrong with some peeps!! Enjoy the show for heavens sake;o) LOL
