- The Bird Family goes diving at The Salvages, small rocky islands off the coast of Gloucester, Massachusetts. They find crabs, fish, lobster and a bunch of curious seals. And there's one thing the seals really find fascinating...our fins!

The seals are adorable and the quality of the videos are awesome. These videos help me calm down when school gets stressful. I hope to see many more :)
I can only imagine how cool it must be to have a Seal get close to you
It's really fun to engage with them because you know it's only because THEY want the interaction.
@@BlueWorldTV Hey! That's exactly what I was thinking about and I left it in the comment! That truly is the best part! 😍
Lol his kid is like “yeah I totally miss her already🙄” 😂
Sea puppies are adorable! They are definitely curious, but it's also good that they've learned a bit of cautious observation with humans, too.
He's like "your fins look like mine, but these don't taste like a seal..." What a great day, I hope Liam knows how lucky he is to be able to spend that time with those animals!
I think he knows he is lucky!
I spent last night sleeping in my sailboat out at anchor in British Columbia, Canada.
Around 4am I was awoken by some splashing for a few seconds every minute or so.
Finally got up to investigate and it was 2 seals that had crawled into my dinghy and were having the time of their lives.
Absolutely adorable animals.
They did make a little mess but didn't damage anything.
I am hoping they make regular visits and eventually let me video them.
They're like aquatic dogs, so cute!
Also I think Liam might have a leak at his SPG, might want to check that out :)
Already fixed it. Just a worn O-ring. Keeping up on maintenance of all the scuba gear in this house is like a full time job. 🤣
@@BlueWorldTV haha good one Mr Bird
Seals are my spirit animal
These are just like the Farne Islands in the UK 🇬🇧. I only live 2 hours away from them and the seals there are amazing.
I've seen some great videos and pictures of the Grey Seals in the UK. I think they are more friendly.
The best is to dive when there are juveniles. They are MUCH more curious and more playful. Some will even start to gently bite your fins to "taste them" (some of my fins are full of marks lol). Also, when there are some around, don't just sit there. It's not THE best way to interact with them. IF you have a very good buoyancy, then.... yes! act as a seal! Twist around, make loops, and have fun. That's what they do among themselves and they'll surely come to play along.
I absolutely adore seals, they are just so adorable.
I agree!
did you hear the recent story, few weeks ago where a man fell out of his fishing boat, his boat left without him, he had to swim to an oil rig to be saved. It was in the Channel Islands and he was saved by a seal, pretty awesome story IMHO
Wow look how much he's grown 😭. My son turned 16 this year. They grow up way too fast. Glad you got to spend time together, having fun. Great stuff as always!
seals love fins because they are big versions of their own feets
Plus they probably realise they're plastic and artificial, and thus they're more curious!
I am excited to see the blue family spending their trip with the seals.
Glad your family has been able to spend some quality time together well! It's never easy to bid farewell to a family member when they move out, but distance can never change the bond you've all grown together. Wishing only good and wonderful things for your family and especially your daughter! Hoping her new journey in life goes wonderfully well
What a sweet and fun little trip.....congrats on your daughter's college acceptance, hope she has a great year.
Viewer number four. Love from Denmark too you all from Blue World!🤿🇩🇰❤️
So excited for this! Best channel on RUclips!
Wow!
I love those curious water dogs.
Wow another cute episode from my favorite vlogger Jonathan Bird and family. Enjoy and keep safe. God bless!
I've done this dive with Captain Fran. It was a lot of fun. Seals were friendly with many finding a place to sleep sticking their nose stuck under a rock to stay down.
So cute! They're probably like "What are these weird looking seals with the funny colored fins?!" On a serious note, aren't you afraid of running into Great Whites while going from the shallows to the boat, or even in parts of the shallows?!?! I've watched your channel for many years, and absolutely love it, and all the education about the ocean and its creatures!!!
Not worried about great whites. I have the world's greatest shark deterrent--a camera!
@@BlueWorldTV Lol, that's true. I'm sure after years of diving and filming, that you're probably always pointing that camera around in every direction looking for something to film, so there goes their chance of sneaking up on you. It must be the most amazing feeling to be down there completely relaxed looking for something to film or point out to someone!!!!
Adorable seals!!
Just Adorable! 😍 That's Awesome your son figured out that the seals love fins! How cute! 💕
I always say that seals are the genetical brothers of dogs that just didn't make it out of the water
They are literally underwater dogs. I don’t know how else to describe them, lol.
Ocean puppies!
I've been watching these videos for years. probably more that 4 years now. 😊
Jonathan do all the seals also attract great white sharks? I have to admit I was a bit on edge that one would sneak up on you guys! Love the content as always. 🙂
I love this video so much,it just felt like the classic videos all over again
Cool!! Seals, fins, lobsters aaaand.. a hobbit?
Wait, who is the Hobbit?
Each one of these videos is like a gem! Avesome!
Ill likely be doing this dive this summer :)
It's fun!
Man, Liam and Elise have grown fast
Wow.. When I saw the Seals I got some unknown feeling of love to them .. BTW I watch your video's from mah country India....
Love watching these!! Giving me so many places to add to my list of diving spots
Very beautiful video!! Thank you for sharing!!
I absolutely love seals! What an amazing video, thanks for letting us join in on the diving fun :)
Lovely . Have been away from RUclips because of work commitments . Now I am free to regularly view my fav channel . As usual the video is amazing . The green , plankton filled waters reminded me of your expedition to capture Greenland sharks Mr. Jonathan .
Btw these seals are like those girlfriends who seem not to care about their boyfriend but in reality are keeping a close watch over their activities 😂😂 . Really felt so good to be back at this channel 😌 .
Welcome back!
the doggos of the sea
Great as always
The music on your videos is really good. It adds to the video.
Thank you, Jonathan, for an awesome film, we gotta go back and revisit the spot.
How cute!!! Love to see your family enjoying with you
Thank you so much!
Oh the life of a seal. If you take trying to be eaten by sharks & killer whales out of there equation, I would like to think they have a pretty good life.
Thanks for sharing & have a good day,
Chris from Missouri
The life of a seal is really good....until it's not!
The first sighting from sea of your destination ,gave me dejavu.
It was a video similar with guys in boat having rocks/seals in sight an a great white chasing them off.
I liked yours better
I love Jonathan bird blue world video
seals are the dogs of the water 😂
They really are!
Beautiful creatures. 💕
I love these videos! You guys have made get into scuba diving. I’ll be taking my beginner course next month!!!
Awesome! Glad to hear it!
So much fun!!! How lucky you guys are to dive with the seals!
They are fun! And what makes it more fun is knowing that it only happens because they WANT to come over and check us out. They are wild animals, able to out swim us by a factor of about 100! So there is no way we can coerce them. The interaction is 100% up to them.
I grew up watching the show on pbs, so cool to see you diving local to me in Massachusetts. ☺️
natural and out of captivity, the way it should be.
I might think 'Well, bringing food to the seals is the easiest and quickest way to attract them' when I was little. But I don't agree with that anymore. It just doesn't feel right. (Maybe the food or the attitude is not natural enough? I'm not sure.) And what BlueWorld family did was truly awesome! I just love the way you guys attracted those marine lives which I reckon is a real positive and respectful way to face the blue world. You are the best!
Awe how cute!
I love this so much
Best channel on RUclips
Edit : i love you guys
Wow! So nice to watch your video again
Liam looks so different now. Great video though!
This video was shot 5 months ago and he is now taller than I am.
@@BlueWorldTV 😃
Love From India ❤❤😊
Hey Jonathan, great video as always, hope you and your family enjoyed the trip, good luck to your daughter in college!
Thanks so much!
Woah cool
1st 1st 1st loved your content man especially your contents on the Philippines im so proud to be a filipino
I went to the Farn Islands (Uk) in September but unfortunately I didn’t encounter any seals but theres loads of wildlife in the cold north sea. It was also my first ever salt water dive and dive after covid. I love it, im currently doing my advanced courses
Awesome
Awesome video
Thanks!
You got the seal of approval
🤣
Is there any chance that you could upgrade your camera and start filming in 1440p and 2160p 4K?
Many of us are running 4K monitors and televisions now and we would appreciate the finer details
of the beautiful sea life. Thanks for your consideration and love from all of us over here in Michigan, USA ! 🤓
We actually have been shooting in 4k/60P since 2014. We do not post that resolution because it's too easy for people to steal and repurpose.
This video gets my seal of approval... 😜
I'll see myself out.
🤣
Так вы видели тюленей только издалека? 🤔 На самом деле действительно во многих видео видно, что тюлени обожают ласты! Что им так нравится в них?
Assumtion: they love us because to them we appear to jump in the water and scream:"Hey you wanna play guys?!?!??!? HEY YOU WANNA PLAY?!?!?!?!?"
Because as far as I am aware blowing bubbles, like you do on OC, is a signal of playfulness
Fun.
very cool video :)
Do a dive in 🇳🇴 next.
Do a video about crocodiles next.
Well, fins are a form of shoe. Dogs love shoes.
LOL!
keep it up!
I will!
cool
Time flies, the boy has grown so much from the last video you uploaded few years back. I wonder how many dives he has already
My little guy is growing up!!
omg i watched you since 5
Always enjoy your adventures. Would like for you to say or show the water conditions.......visibility, temperature and depth above and below first thermocline. Thanks.
The seals look like they have flat hands with six fingers.
They have the fingernails, but the "fingers" have webbing and no thumb, so they are not very good at holding a pencil. Their handwriting is atrocious. 🤣
heehehehe seals luv jonatthon because he is a real hpnest guy and a man of the sea. wow they have gloucester in usa too?
In the USA, we stole about half of our city and town names from Europe.
@0:34 Your son doesn't look like he's missing his sister that much Hahaha pretty normal at that age
Isn't "cold water fun" an oxymoron? Would love to dive with seals someday. The curiosity of marine life is one thing that keeps me coming back to the underwater world.
P.S. I have learned a lot from your channel. Thank you.
Thanks for being here!!
Hey Jonathan ik u have done hammerheads before but can u do a smooth hammerhead diving trip
👍👍👍
If your lucky you can find a wild David Goggins.
sea cats :3
❤️❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been trying to get my diving license
But I’m too young…you have just inspired me to do that
YOU ONLY HAVE TO BE 10!
Hey Johnathan! 👋 I wanted to share with you a really cool thing happening in Destin. Emerald Coast Scuba started a Homeschool class where they use dive to teach math, physics and marine biology. The kids get thier PADI OW and Advanced certifications, as well as EFR. We've had people from the colleges marine department, fish and wild life and Ramona & Shane Reynalds(National Geo photographer and videographer) come speak to the kids. They also do community service by cleaning up the beaches and gulf waters.
In April 13 kids, ages 12 to 17, will do thier check out dives for thier Advanced! It's a really cool thing and maybe something for you to check out! We'd love to have you come along!
That's really cool!
My old stomping grounds too. Now I live near Blue Heron Bridge :)
Not a bad change of stomping grounds!
Jonathan.
That's a Gray Seal!
You remember seeing a Gray Seal like in Season 6.
Must have been august : one does not simply wear a t-shirt in maine in winter 😆
Disclaimer: No toes were harmed in the making of this video.
Beautiful video! Jonathan, just curious why you aren't using your ForceFins? Have you found something better?
My force fins are black and I was thinking maybe we would see which ones the seals liked better....bright blue regular fins or clack force fins. Turns out that they don't really care! LOL
Thanks so much, @BlueWorldTV! I would have guessed, too, that they would have had a preference.
Sea Doggo wants to cuddle
I didn’t know you are from MA. I am a local too.
I remember you filmed this species before
