This video gave me serious nostalgia. I recognised every single one of the old songs, but as the years kept advancing I recognised less and less songs and for some reason it made sad lol. Vocaloid was a huge part of my daily life before, but now, as I grew up, I took on more daily life responsibilities and it forced me to be less involved, resulting in not being as up to date with the new songs as I was before. Well, at least I did recognise a considerable amount of the 2023-2024 songs. Hoping I soon manage to get some free time to make a deep dive into the newest Vocaloid songs and producers.
Same for me, I've never really realised how much Vocaloid -something that is so niche and "weird"- connected to me when I grew up until I got older and started getting nostalgic about it and all my favorite classics but sadly.. I saw how 2 of my favorite artists died and some others stopped making Vocaloid music altogether. I will never forget those times and the sweet and sour taste of Vocaloid in my mouth no matter how many years pass, truly a thing I can be thankful to be and to keep being able to experience and I really hope it never dies down. Hopefully LamazeP still has something to give and PinocchioP and my favorite, Kikuo keeps slaying with their style for years to come.
Deco*27 has been around for so long, what's weird is it felt like his time to shine had already gone by and then he released Ghost Rule in 2016 and it was a huge comeback! Now he was a legend, and in 2018 when Love Words III it references all of the choruses of his classic songs, looking back at his career. And THEN he blew up even MORE somehow with Vampire now he's literally unkillable it's fcking insane I would have never expected this.... he never left the scene, his dedication is real. --It's also crazy how kikuo doesn't show up more considering he has the most streamed vocal synth song ever with Aishite, Aishite, Aishite
AISHITE AISHITE AISHITE IS THE MOST STREAMED VOCAL SYNTH SONG EVER?? You learn something new every day Anyway deco’s gotta stop coming back lmao. I thought he’d only ever continue making the same song after Vampire. Then just a few days ago we got hao, which follows the formula of all deco’s recent songs and doesn’t sound like any deco song i’ve ever heard at the same time?? And I cant stop listening to it?? I used to say I hated deco but i cant deny the truth anymore :( he is unkillable and its absolutely awful I love his music ❤
I was thinking all of this already and I discovered MILGRAM a few months ago and it's like this whole other high budget side project with all of his songs and it's still in progress 😂
Looking at the vocaloid usage numbers Hatsune Miku - 115 Kagamine Rin - 31 GUMI - 26 Kagamine Len - 21 Kasane Teto, Flower - 11 KAFU - 8 Megurine Luka, KAITO - 7 I sorta wonder Is Hatsune Miku the queen because so many amazing artists use Hatsune Miku? Or do so many artists use Miku because she is the queen?
If you liked his style of music, I'd recommend his band "Hitorie". He's made more than 70 songs with his band as the vocalist and guitarist, very interesting seeing his unique style in another setting :)
dang this shows how much vocaloid culture has evolved over the years, there are some newer songs and recently released songs i like a lot (like electrical forecast and beyond the way) but i also miss the vibe a lot of those late 2000's/early 2010's songs had...
yeah, you can see the turning point in the vocaloid music scene here, particularly some time before hachi released sand planet. people these days give him shit for releasing that song, but he was right - vocaloid was dying for a while.
Even now, Yonezu was still correct in his observation. If it werent for the annoying pjsk fans, the only ones holding up the current vocaloid scene are the old producers and some old fans. The transition from mid 2010's onwards started to decline.
2017 is a legendary year HACHI and WOWAKA, two of the most influential creators, are finally back This is also HACHI and WOWAKA’s last VOCALOID submission Among them, HACHI's DUNE is not only the 10th anniversary song of Hatsune Miku, but also Niconico's fastest VOCALOID song to reach one million views. Still no one can surpass it.
@@prestonlam7835Wowaka will always hold special spots in many people’s heart, no one can replace him. I love Deco and Ghost rule changed my life, but it’s not even close. Wowaka’a songs has been and will always be my lifeline. I always listen to his songs when I’m unsure with life and they’ll keep me going every time. Wowaka is just so high up in my ranking that he’s not even in the ranking at all. Bro’s in his own category lol. I love Deco, but I basically worship Wowaka’s songs. He’s a LEGEND!!
It's kinda crazy how some of these songs only exploded in popularity years later. I remember being around for when a lot of these were released and seeing Shojo A and Aishite dominate their respective months is so weird since they weren't talked about that much back then.
Also I can see exactly where I started falling out of vocaloid for a year because after mid 2014 I stopped recognizing them for a while (not even the honorable mentions
this video made me realize just how close from each other all kagerou project songs were realeased like i kwew most were from 2012-2014 but seeing it put like that hits different

As soon as I thought about May 2024, I swear I knew that Touhou x Vocaloid songs are about to come honestly. My reaction was like: "OMFG?!?!?!" And went to do the exact movements in Help me, ERINNNNNN!! Really hit a great spot in me, considering Touhou and Vocaloid's communities are pretty chill with eachother.
@@dragonmoonwave this is coming from a vocaloid fan and a proseka fan, there are some parts of the pjsk fandom that are just very uneducated on vocaloid. they may say that vocaloids are from the game, or a character like mafuyu is a vocaloid. i wouldnt say this is a large part of the fandom, but these kinds of people are usually young kids and they can be pretty vocal about it. its most of the reason why i feel like the project sekai and vocaloid fandoms are more like cousins than siblings
@@teeth_of_a_rat Fair, though most of them do learn it’s a small portion of the fandom and for the most part project SEKAI has introduced many people to vocaloid which is a plus
@@dragonmoonwave yeah. all fandoms have their bad apples, but those ones are usually the loud annoying ones. the vocaloid fandom definetly has it fair share of problems too though 🙃 they both helped me through hard times though, and the same applies for many others, which i think is great :)

Well i guess i was left the fandom as early as i graduated from high school in early 2016, but still seeing Vocaloid song from time to time but seeing this video really make me realize that the community still alive and so many good song are coming, feel proud for the fandom and feel so old to see those song i love back then was almost 9-10 years old now

@@VocaStatsgreat idea! But I gotta warn you: I think that video may become outdated *some* day or eventually. At least it would be more up to date than that one other outdated Most Popular songs per Vocaloid video
@@akfc.6978 That is true, but as far as I know most of these songs for each Vocaloid are a lock for a while. The only ones I can see that can change within a shorter time period would be Len's Telecaster B-Boy taken over by Ego Rock, Teto's Hito Mania taken over by Override, and HUGE STRETCH but Miku's Love Me Love Me Love Me taken over by Rabbit Hole. What I learned from this is that Mitchie M is not as much of a heavy hitter as I thought, and Deco*27 is even more of one that I could have possibly imagined. Thanks for the video!
I had been listening to Vocaloid since I was a child (probs 15+ years ago!). It felt so sad when DUNE/Sand Planet came out, due to Hachi's profound criticism of the Vocaloid scenario with this song. But, I feel he inspired a lot of producers to make more and more Vocaloid songs, and also inspired us, Vocaloid fans, to not let it go. And then Project Sekai arrived! It really gave Vocaloid a huge new boost, with new and olds fans coming together. I will always love Vocaloid, Miku, Gumi, Teto and all of them forever.
I can't believe that practically all the songs that I loved, WERE IN DAMN 2008-2010? I WAS A MERE BABY CHILD. Thank you so much for such an incredible video!! ❤❤❤❤
This was rather interesting to watch, honestly. Definitely shows how things have changed over time And, for me personally, at least, I remember being interested in vocaloids between circa 2017 and early 2020. Was a pretty notable part of my childhood, and I have nice memories from back then. As such, I remember a good chunk of these older songs But that leaves a huge gap between early 2020 and September 2024. The only song I recognize from there is Lagtrain from later in 2020, but it is really interesting hearing these songs I've never seen before. Definitely a different feel to them (Also, nice that my favorite one [Senbonzakura] made its way onto the list)
25:39 I CHEERED honestly its fun seeing how much vocaloid has evolved during the years/which songs had a certain month, so i rlly like watching these videos
Watching this unlocked some core memory about vocaloid for me. I listened to vocaloid times to times but I actually got into vocaloid is from 2017 ish. And 2018-2020 is an insane year for me because there were so many good songs. I would consider myself the modern vocaloid lover. Sounds, voice bank, mixing is much much more clean then. But ever since 2018 I just deep dive into vocaloid, even up till now. Some of the songs I heard here took me right back to the first time I ever heard them and gave me goosebumps. I love it a lot
I was 10 years old when I listened for the first time Vocaloid. So, in 2013. I think 2015-2016 were greatest period because there were already old and new vocaloid. So Vocaloid increase. It was beautiful
nayutalien making the list twice in a row, first with a song ive never heard of second with alien alien, is crazy lmao (shouldve waited on alien alien so rip gossip sea could be the most viewed song of the month 💔)
It’s crazy how pjsk got some producers out on the field again and dominated most of the songs after a while. There are even the songs that the voice actors sing in most compilations like these that are supposed to be only vocaloid compilations. Not complaining tho if it wasn’t for them we wouldn’t have had I nandesu, zamuza, cinema or rad dogs etc.
Genuinely surprised by how some artists- like mothy, mambo-dead-behind-the-house-p- were mostly across the honorable mentions with few if any popular months, especially since it seemed like their projects were everywhere when I was in the fandom in middle school. And then they were gone.... kinda makes me nostalgic
its crazy when project sekai released, a lot of the commissioned songs ended up on the list (even with april 2023 just being purely comms) and to be honest, im glad that it released since it exposed me to a much wider genre (despite already hearing a handful of vocaloid songs years prior, and have at least tried project diva in the past)
As a very latejoining vocaloid fan, I am still amazed that Miku Miku ni shite ageru was a month 1 song, and that 2008 had so many bangers. Like, I struggle to make my dad listen to a single Undertale song, but he adores World is Mine. Early fandom had skills indeed, and it's all up from there.
Was not expecting Miniature Garden Girl even as an honorable mention, I've always thought of the Evillious Chronicles songs outside of the Seven Deadly Sins as being niche lol
Teto's resurgence since 2023 is so pleasing. Shows how any old school vocaloid could get into top popularity with just a few updates. May 2024 most popular V-song is soon to be taken by Musekinin Shuugoutai as well. September 2021 is also insane, despite the release of Azari's most popular song, Shadow Shadow, it can only places 3rd because of how popular are Godish and Ego Rock.
I remember when dune by hachi was posted to yt all the comments i saw were theorizing about how it must be about the vocaloid fandom and how dead it was/past the glory days How wrong they were lol
it kinda shows in the list when vocaloid peaked. Like, the first few years are filled with a bunch of vocaloid songs that pierced well outside the fanbase and became iconic, whereas the mid 2010s have significantly less of those songs, except (ironically) DUNE itself and a couple others.
Thank you for this video! I was dropping interest in vocaloid for some amount of time and just get back to it few months ago, this helps me see all things I have missed (which is like 6 years at least)

I was so sure Kagerou daze was gonna get the title lol
deadass i was a huge kagepro fan and heard that song everywhere
In Teto’s case, one of the reasons for this popularity is because of her new Synth V vocal
I thought teto was popular even way before
@@_dei Teto was super popular during the late 2000’s to early 2010’s, she started to become a little less popular throughout the rest of the 2010’s, and she gained another large boost in popularity in the 2020’s coinciding with the release of her upgraded Synth V vocal
Good to see Teto gettin some love.

You learn something new every day
Anyway deco’s gotta stop coming back lmao.
I'm pretty sure Goodbye Declaration has more views across all platforms than Aishite.
@@user-wu7wu7pq9f Yeah when I say "streamed" i mean music streaming platforms specifically, so not nicovideo, YT, etc.
I was thinking all of this already and I discovered MILGRAM a few months ago and it's like this whole other high budget side project with all of his songs and it's still in progress 😂
actually kikuo shows up around 6-7 times... but most were in honorable mentions always right behind some other massive song
Looking at the vocaloid usage numbers
Hatsune Miku - 115
Kagamine Rin - 31
GUMI - 26
Kagamine Len - 21
Kasane Teto, Flower - 11
KAFU - 8
Megurine Luka, KAITO - 7
I sorta wonder
Is Hatsune Miku the queen because so many amazing artists use Hatsune Miku?
Or do so many artists use Miku because she is the queen?
Nah I'd sing
@@nikol6605😂
Hmmm maybe it has just become sort of a tradition for musicians to use mainly Hatsune Miku as their singer???? (I mean I wonder too)
“Are you Hatsune Miku because you are Hatsune Miku, or does being Hatsune Miku make you Hatsune Miku?”
meiko not appearing once.... (not counting sakine)
RIP wowaka
i sadly discovered vocaloid long after he died, but i find some of his songs relatable, and all of them amazing
If you liked his style of music, I'd recommend his band "Hitorie". He's made more than 70 songs with his band as the vocalist and guitarist, very interesting seeing his unique style in another setting :)
@@Reralex ooooh!
dang this shows how much vocaloid culture has evolved over the years, there are some newer songs and recently released songs i like a lot (like electrical forecast and beyond the way) but i also miss the vibe a lot of those late 2000's/early 2010's songs had...
DENKI YOHOU!!!!
Old songs really have it's unique feeling to them...
Old songs great. New songs also great.
yeah, you can see the turning point in the vocaloid music scene here, particularly some time before hachi released sand planet. people these days give him shit for releasing that song, but he was right - vocaloid was dying for a while.
Even now, Yonezu was still correct in his observation. If it werent for the annoying pjsk fans, the only ones holding up the current vocaloid scene are the old producers and some old fans. The transition from mid 2010's onwards started to decline.
2017 is a legendary year
HACHI and WOWAKA, two of the most influential creators, are finally back
This is also HACHI and WOWAKA’s last VOCALOID submission
Among them, HACHI's DUNE is not only the 10th anniversary song of Hatsune Miku, but also Niconico's fastest VOCALOID song to reach one million views. Still no one can surpass it.
Not only those two remember mention deco 27 he is also a legend
@@prestonlam7835Wowaka will always hold special spots in many people’s heart, no one can replace him. I love Deco and Ghost rule changed my life, but it’s not even close.
Love Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder being on here twice for both Rin and Len bc that song is honestly SO iconic
Also I can see exactly where I started falling out of vocaloid for a year because after mid 2014 I stopped recognizing them for a while (not even the honorable mentions

My reaction was like: "OMFG?!?!?!" And went to do the exact movements in Help me, ERINNNNNN!!
Really hit a great spot in me, considering Touhou and Vocaloid's communities are pretty chill with eachother.
They're both united with this one phrase:
Touhou/Vocaloid is not an anime.
theyre both deeply connected with internet culture as we know it. i mean, kasane territory is based off 2 touhou remixes
Teto Territory from 2018 is almost the same as Tomboyish Daughter

@@dragonmoonwave yeah. all fandoms have their bad apples, but those ones are usually the loud annoying ones. the vocaloid fandom definetly has it fair share of problems too though 🙃
they both helped me through hard times though, and the same applies for many others, which i think is great :)
left the fandom around 2019-early 2020 (and even then i mostly just followed maretu) but it makes me kinda emotional how the community is still so incredibly active with so much good music coming out and new people joining in and and !!!!!!!! im just so happy to see this space still flourishing after so many years
oh god this makes me sound like i was a vocaloid fan for like a decade before leaving that is NOT the case 😭

I did some simple math, if Rabbit Hole can somehow keep it's consistent growth it COULD surpass Love Me Love Me Love Me by the middle of next year, March/April 2025 by the earliest.

And, for me personally, at least, I remember being interested in vocaloids between circa 2017 and early 2020. Was a pretty notable part of my childhood, and I have nice memories from back then. As such, I remember a good chunk of these older songs
But that leaves a huge gap between early 2020 and September 2024. The only song I recognize from there is Lagtrain from later in 2020, but it is really interesting hearing these songs I've never seen before. Definitely a different feel to them
(Also, nice that my favorite one [Senbonzakura] made its way onto the list)

Watching this unlocked some core memory about vocaloid for me. I listened to vocaloid times to times but I actually got into vocaloid is from 2017 ish. And 2018-2020 is an insane year for me because there were so many good songs. I would consider myself the modern vocaloid lover. Sounds, voice bank, mixing is much much more clean then. But ever since 2018 I just deep dive into vocaloid, even up till now. Some of the songs I heard here took me right back to the first time I ever heard them and gave me goosebumps. I love it a lot
Kairiki got me into vocaloid and I'm so happy whenever bear's mentioned, rediscovered so many songs with this video, thank you!
I feel an odd sense of nostalgia yet also the horrible feeling of aging because I know so many 2013ish songs but barely know the stuff nowadays...

I was 10 years old when I listened for the first time Vocaloid. So, in 2013. I think 2015-2016 were greatest period because there were already old and new vocaloid. So Vocaloid increase. It was beautiful
A Kagerou project song made it onto the list I can rest peacefully now, good night

I was just as excited to see all the honorable mentions, thinking "I watched this when it came out" 😅 I feel so old
Sakura no Ame especially hits different because I just graduated middle school. Can’t wait for it to hit different again in 4 years

9:03 I freaked out when i saw "reincarnation ascension", it was one of my favorite song
Teto and Zundamon becoming relevant is BLOODY AMAZING PLEASE MORE
Was not expecting Miniature Garden Girl even as an honorable mention, I've always thought of the Evillious Chronicles songs outside of the Seven Deadly Sins as being niche lol
I remember when dune by hachi was posted to yt all the comments i saw were theorizing about how it must be about the vocaloid fandom and how dead it was/past the glory days
How wrong they were lol
it definitely was true at the time. voca veteran fans kept talking about how dead the fandom was becoming even before hachi released it lmao
it kinda shows in the list when vocaloid peaked.
