FYI: This Aputure F10 fresnel adapter SHOULD be paired with an Aputure 600d Pro light. Just so happens Samy's rental provided this one, rather than the Aputure Fresnel 2X that more appropriately pairs with the Aputure 300d lights.

It's the same track I featured / discussed in the latest podcast episode: ruclips.net/video/o6YIriBSv-I/видео.html

Thank you for this Griffin. I am totally fine with watching a 10 minute video going in detail about the light and f-stops, but when I saw a live stream of, what was it, 1.5 hours or something, that was just too much for me.
Keep the good work up. I like your new tech testing / reviewing content and your generally good mood.

No worries-lengthy livestreams are not for everyone! But it's been fun to have that content captured to edit down into shorter videos like these.

I’m curious what you’re up to in LA.

You say it is wasting light, but to me I’m in my element, it’s a very theatrical or cinematic effect, that shaped light effect could be the light though a door at night or something?

Oh yeah, I agree the shaped light is very useful. I just mean "wasted" in terms of output and efficiency-so much power coming off the light, fans working hard, and only a fraction of the light is hitting the wall. The majority is bring absorbed as heat into the barndoors. (Not that there's any other way to achieve the effect, I just think it's funny.)
