Ahhhhh Welcome to ROME! I cannot believe I was able to go to this beautiful destination. Thank you everyone so much for watching, I hope you all have a great week. :) JJ
Hi Julia, It’d be great if you can share how you deal with jetlag on both sides, going out USA and then when you come back. I want to move overseas to fly, but the only thing that Im afraid is how to deal with jetlag. Greetings 😊
This may be a bit late now, but you should take a photo of your fridge every time you put a magnet up. At the end of the year, you can do a timelapse with all the photos to show how your destinations have grown.
Spending 24 hours in Rome as an international flight attendant must feel like stepping into a living museum, where every corner holds a story and every moment is an adventure. Your ability to explore such a historic and vibrant city within a limited time is truly inspiring. It’s not just about seeing the sights, but about embracing the essence of a place, even if only for a day. And I am Floating Village Life.
I need to do a better job of being more inclusive with my descriptions of places I visit - thank you for your kind comment but I promise to keep trying!
To fully enjoy your visit to the Trevi Fountain, I recommend going at 5 or 6 in the morning. You’ll find it completely empty and 100% available for your photos. Considering that the fountain's nighttime lighting is perfect, you're sure to enjoy it a lot!
We loved Rome! We had the whole audio/headphones thing at the Colosseum. Very informative! We ordered pizza, pasta & red wine to share for our first Italian meal. Wanted to cover all the bases. 😂
A visit to Rome should always include a visit to the Vatican and the Vatican Museum. They are not just icons of religion, but treasures of art. Great video. Love how you always get out and explore as opposed as only going shopping, which unfortunately is what other flight attendants do. GRAZIE MOLTO!
Yes visit, but for all reading this, do NOT take videos or talk in Sistine chapel. It is incredibly disrespectful and every time I go American tourists are Instagram living talking on cell phones or doing selfies. It is a sacred chapel. Have 🫡 respect please.
You work so hard to serve people all day with crazy schedules. You should treat yourself once in a while (and not feel guilty). You deserve it. 💕 I have yet to read “Fairytale”.. it’s on my TBR. Hope it’s good!
There's so much to see in Rome. You really need two weeks to see most of it. Rome was actually built over another city. There are still ruins including homes you can visit underneath Rome's street level.
Great tour. Enjoyed it all, including the little factoids about the Coliseum. The ingredients are so much more natural and food prepared without preservatives unlike the USA probably explains why that pizza was so good!
Rome looks so much different than what I remember from so many years ago. And while it has always been crowded, it seems way more crowded than years past. Glad you enjoyed Julia!❤️✈️
The Italian government is now discouraging foreign tourism in some Italian cities. For example, Venice recently introduced a tariff foreigners are supposed to pay in order to visit the city. I don't know how they enforce the tariff, but locals tell me something had to be done. Venice is congested with tourists each week from Thursday through Sunday. In the summer it is really bad with some bridges blocked so locals can't use them.
I think this was one of your best vlogs yet.You and your filming and location were all amazing, thank you! I forgot to add the music also wonderful ❤❤❤❤
I can’t believe you’ve been based in Philly for a year already- I feel as you said it was exactly what you needed at exactly the right time. Your innocent delight in the wonders you experience through your job and you heartfelt gratitude are a joy to me. Thankyou Julia!❤
I visited Rome back in 2017. I went to the colosseum and also went on an underground tour of the colosseum to see the chambers which were very interesting.
The Colosseum was also flooded to reenact naval battles. Hope you enjoyed your visit during the busy season; it can get pretty crowded. Piazza Navona is a great little escape.
I think it's awesome that you had a trip to Rome, Italy. Also the collesoum looked so beautiful and that Rome, Italy is a fantastic place to visit. Have a fantastic day
FYI - I have close family that live in Florence, Italy. If you ever make it there, please don't take a tour. I can put you in touch with them. They would be happy to show you around. My last trip to visit was unbelievable.
Was definitely glad we went in Rome temps where not to bad.It was definitely nice how walkable it was we where able to walk to everywhere but the Vatican. And definitely can’t go wrong getting gelato quite a bit.
Wauw that was a lovely Trip 😜 and the massive heatwave they had too 🥵 Thats nice you can get a bit more International trips , looking forward to seeing where You’re off to next .Have a Fabulous day 🥰 our doggies like our laminated floors as they too are cooler for the summer .
I'm an international disaster nurse- so I travel a ton. I'd love your advice on how you deal with sleep when you travel and are on different time zones, and then jet lag. :) Happy travels.
If you want to visit Rome when it's less busy go in November yes it's milder but better, Me and my partner did and at 9am when we went to the trevi there were only 4_5 other people there
Hi Julia. Glad you got to visit Rome. I've only been once, but it was amazing. The pizza and ice cream (gelato) are amazing there. Definitely visiting the Trevis fountain early is a good idea. Glad you threw in a wish. I need to return there so I can make a new wish!
Rome has humidity which is why it feels hotter. Rome is like being part of a living museum. It is a fabulous city. IF you have time, take a tour out to Hadrian's Villa. It is just a fabulous place and you can see how grand it was in it's day. The villa is up on a hill and the view in incredible. They have a scale model of the entire villa and what it would have looked like. You walk across mosaic floors that are still there after all these thousands of years. We got very lucky and we were out there late in the afternoon and no one else what there. It was so cool and quiet and peaceful. It was my favorite part of the trip. There is also a restaurant close to the Ville where we had dinner. We were there the last two weeks in September so it was still fairly hot but the crowds had thinned some. The other thing to see is the Vatican and the Sistine Chapel. I was sorry not be be able to get closer to the Pieta but some years ago some nut case tried to smash it to bits and did damage it. I was repaired, thankfully, but it's kept away from where you walk when in St. Peter's. IF you go into St. Peters be sure not to wear too short of a shirt and have your shoulders covered. Like wear a T-shirt. They aren't all THAT strict these days but they still keep a level of standard for modesty and respect. Be really careful of pick pockets around there. They ARE everywhere.
We went to rome just over 2 years ago. I recommend an afternoon spent in Trastevre area. Go grab a spritz and listen to music, visit some local artist shops and have dinner (fried artichoke is big in that area, and cacio e pepe), and get some more gelato. I love italy so much. I'm always between going back to Italy or visit a new country. 😅 Enjoyed watching you enjoy Rome. What a cool play. And how cool is it you get to go for work.
In 2 weeks ill be in Italy as well (in the north). But this video is definately good for fun ahead 😀. Visit3d Rome back in 2010. The Pantheon, 2000 years old and already made from concrete and the forum romanum are worth visiting.
Beautiful video full of information and adventures!!! Thank you so much for the effort and dedication you put into your videos, it is greatly appreciated!!!❤
I enjoy watching your videos! I've been to Italy twice in the past, once in the spring and once in the summer. I think it might feel warmer in Rome than in Las Vegas because of the humidity in Rome is higher : ) I look forward to your next vlog! ❤🤗
If you get vacation to spend in Italy there is so much to do and see. I would recommend Florence, Bologna, and Venice as future destinations. Of course the food is excellent anywhere in Italy. And if you get the chance, visit Sicily and Sardinia.
So awesome Julia! Appreciate the history tidbits too. That dress is so pretty and love the magnets. And what more can be said about the iconic Luna cuteness . ❤
You might want to try Trastevere the next time you are in Rome. It is an 'old' part of the city and across the river. Lots of good walks and local foods
When I visited the Colosseum, the movie Gladiator with Russel Crowe just came out, and it was so interesting to walk through the Colosseum with the movie still fresh in my mind. When you are back in Rome, try to get a walking tour of the Forum (near the Colosseum), especially if you are interested in history. Rome is beautiful. I was blessed to have a delay on a Mediterranean cruise. We were supposed to leave Salerno but equipment problems stopped the ship leaving port. Got an extra day to visit Rome unexpectedly. Naples and Rome in 1 cruise, not what I had expected.
@JettingJulia I toured Naples as it was scheduled on the itinerary. The cables anchoring the ship got stuck so we couldn't undock that evening. They gave us an overnight stay and changed the itinerary to a 2nd day in the Naples/Salerno area instead of departing to Sardinia. Bummer that Sardinia was canceled. Sometimes, you get lucky to visit both Naples and Rome in 1 trip.
Goodness me girl, if I keep watching your videos I’m going to have to get a second bucket for my bucket list. Lol! This is a huge reason why I’m looking at the flight attendant career as a retirement job. 🙂❤️✈️
Roma, Italia 🇮🇹 is a beautiful city and I went there years ago back in 2009 and visited other places in Roma. I visited the Colosseum and went inside but beautiful. La Citta del Vaticano 🇻🇦 which I went to also is not far from the Colosseum
Julia When in rome you should go to “Piazza Navona” and to both “Terrazza del Pincio” hill and “Gianicolo” hill where you have a beautifull view over Rome from above. And again to the Vatican city “Via della Conciliazione” and “Piazza San Pietro”, even if you are not religious. And again from the coloseum you should walk along “Via dei Fori Imperiali” to reach “Piazza Venezia”.
Definitely go to Vatican,St Peters Basilica will blow your mind with its size and visit the church and museum but make sure you bring something to cover your shoulders and a longish dress as they do have a dress code. Enjoy
I love Rome. It’s such a beautiful city. You take your life in your hands when crossing a road!!! To get to the place, at home, where I like to run I drive along a Roman road. I often think of the Roman soldiers who walked the road I drive.
Brilliant vlog! Have to admit, FCO wasn't my best layover. Didn't really take to LIN/MXP Either. My favorite was always VCE, with the intricate waterways. I know what you mean about that heat. Soooo hot.
Great vlog as always, Julia. Thank you so much for taking us along to the coliseum. How was your ravioli? I am guessing it was awesome like your pizza. Maybe next time you go to Rome, you have different types of pasta. I am betting that it would be great. Always great to see miss Luna
Congratulations Julia: Excellent episode. Your shots at the Coliseum were great and the whole flight canx situation brought back memories- I´m a retired Flight Attemdant and I love watching your videos and reminiscing of the life style. But this one made me specially nostalgic. Maybe it was the adventure or the food ...Thanks Julia. Cheers and keep it up!
If you thought La Biga was good, you'd love Ristoro della Salute, which is about a block and a half away on the east side of the Colosseum. So, so, so good.
Thanks for the vlog, some awesome shots of The Colosseum. Must be kinda bittersweet to be fortunate enough to have a job that enables you to travel to such a place while at the same time not experience it with the one you love. But saying "When in Rome..." while actually in Rome, now how cool is that.😎
That is beautiful! Hope you had an amazing time! Once I heard your flight got canceled, then I would have just said, YES! Score! Another day to explore and not do my job lol. ❤ Can’t wait for next video! Hope you enjoy your week as well!
Gorgeous as always, Julia. Loved seeing Rome. I also love your tropical destination content, too. Don’t forget about those. Feels like you haven’t done one of those in forever. I know a “beach Julia” is a happy Julia. lol.
Rome, my favorite city 😍 my husband proposed there two years ago! I'm happy you got to go and do so much! Too bad the Trevi Fountain (my favorite spot in Rome) gets packed so quickly. I've been at 4 and 6am and they've been the best times! Check out Villa Borghese and bike (with coworkers, it'd be most fun!) and also the Vatican and St. Peter's if you can 👐🏻 I'm glad you find Philly a good fit. God bless you and your family 🙏🏻
You look really exited about your hotel view haha 😂 Looks so amazing must be the best view you have ever seen looking out to a run down scenery that looks like its just been abandoned for 100s of years
Ciao, Julia, perfetto!. Sure an awesome place to visit. Been to both the Aeroporti, Fiumicino et Ciampino. Lot´s of people there during this time of the year and the Italian´s know where the money is coming from!. Great work and Greetings, Markus.
Glad to hear you enjoyed Roma. It's my favourite city in the world. I went there last May for the fourth time and had a great time. There are still plenty of places for you to visit next time. They are St Peter's Church, Vatican Museum, Victor Emmanuel (Wedding Cake) for the amazing views in the front and back for the cafe, Piazza del Popolo and Aventine Hill for the wonderful views of the Roman City and St Peter's Dome. I would recommend a meal at the Osteria Sonnino Restaurant in pretty Trastevere on the other side of the Tiber. I had a large bowl of pasta for 8 euros and a huge glass of Aperol Spritz for 6 euros! Trastevere is so pretty.
I only saw Rome from the airport (Di Vinci), we were on a long 7 hour layover heading to Malta. The airport is amazing, I loved it. Really need to go back and see Rome. Great vlog, Julia...what a wonderful job you have. ♥
Excellent vlog Julia! Your vlogging is awesome, and so descriptive. It's always nice to see Luna close out the vlog 🐾. Be well ✌️. Maybe I will see you in DFW 1 day at my gates. ✈️
Julia, can you on your Julia Jean channel do a recap list of all the Book of the Month books you have read so far and put in the description or comments the list of them you’re mentioning? Thanks
Your video is bringing back memories of my visit to Rome 20 years ago. Hopefully you will someday make it to Athens (similar history) and Tokyo (a very unique cultural experience compared to North America and even Europe).
Ahhhhh Welcome to ROME! I cannot believe I was able to go to this beautiful destination. Thank you everyone so much for watching, I hope you all have a great week. :) JJ
I’ve been to Italy. We did a bunch of the stuff you did in Rome. We did Venice and Florence on our Italy trip tho too. Stunning! ❤❤❤
Happy Wednesday!
You won't find a bad pizza in Italy.
Mama Mia! ❤

Can’t do everything in such a short layover.
Great suggestion. I also loved visiting university libraries and churches in Italy.
@@debisusan4338 Julia requested other places to visit on her future trips. Rome was not build in a day nor can it be seen in a day.

The Vatican is beautiful, for sure. It’s worth seeing (religious or not), totally agree.
Wow , that really was a dream of a trip , especially if you like history , what an amazing place .Thanks for taking us with you Julia .
Girl you got the best of both worlds. You get to eat pasta and pizza in one day, but also walk 21k steps and burn it off 🎉🎉🎉you go queen

We have been there also . Thank you for the reminders from your trip. Stay safe.

ColWhat a great video. I will be in Rome September 10th and I cannot wait. I have a tour of the Colosseum and so excited.

Excellent video and I apologize that I don't comment much but you may have added Rome to my bucket list. Great content!
OMG rome! Absolutely incredible place and history 🩵🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌺🩵🌺🌞🌞🌺🩵🩵🌊🩵🌊🌊🌺🌺🌞🌺🩵🌊🌊🩵🌺🩵🌊✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️
I only saw Rome from the airport (Di Vinci), we were on a long 7 hour layover heading to Malta. The airport is amazing, I loved it. Really need to go back and see Rome. Great vlog, Julia...what a wonderful job you have. ♥
Happy to see you in Rome. One of my fave places in the world!
Excellent vlog Julia! Your vlogging is awesome, and so descriptive. It's always nice to see Luna close out the vlog 🐾. Be well ✌️. Maybe I will see you in DFW 1 day at my gates. ✈️
That gingham dress is adorable on you! Love your videos.

Outstanding job on content, Julia
Julia, can you on your Julia Jean channel do a recap list of all the Book of the Month books you have read so far and put in the description or comments the list of them you’re mentioning?
Thanks
Your video is bringing back memories of my visit to Rome 20 years ago. Hopefully you will someday make it to Athens (similar history) and Tokyo (a very unique cultural experience compared to North America and even Europe).
