San Francisco has lots of hills and very foggy. Glad you visit Palace of Fine Arts and saw the Golden Gate Bridge. You have to check out Coit Tower, Lombard Street, and the Painted Ladies.

Your eyes are very mesmerizing like looking into the universe.
San Francisco is frequently foggy, especially in the morning. But go over to Oakland (east) or Sausalito (north, across the Golden Gate Bridge) and the weather changes dramatically. In the summer it can be foggy and 60 degrees in San Francisco but sunny and 90 degrees only 15 minutes out of town, away from the bay.

Hey Julia, We live in Napa, CA, SFO is our departure airport any time we travel. SFO is so far South of the city. It's cool you company actually got you a nice room in Sab Francisco, and didn't put you in Burlingame or something.
Always great to hear about your trips and your layovers! When you mention your flights, can you also mention the aircraft type that you flew? And can you do a video comparing different aircraft types, from a FA's perspective? For example, galley placement, emergency procedures, etc.
Miss. Luuuuunnaaaaa!! 🥰 I need a long overnight in SFO soon. And it's nice you get to stay downtown. Parts of downtown SFO remind me of Seattle. The Fisherman's Wharf, Lombard Street and Golden Gate are definitely on my To Do list!

Revisiting your idea to talk about books, I see another vlogger (Steph Bohrer) does book reviews which attract a lot of views. There is an old song about San Francisco by Scott McKenzie, about wearing flowers in your hair. Maybe that was during the hippie era.

Curious as to your tour in SFO as the media has this town as a poor homeless and crime ridden city..use to live there in the 70's...
I'm grateful for the 'walk arounds' the pilots do!! Safety first!! San Fransisco is so vibrant and diverse. I have been fortunate enough to see the Golden Gate Bridge and Fisherman's Wharf-both amazing!! Cities that start with an 's'-so many but Switzerland, Spain, Sweden🤩 Safe travels Julia!!💜✈

You asked about a week go for things to do in Lisbon. We ( extended family ) just spent a long weekend there. It was my first time. What can I say, I LOVED it. First off, the airport is just a few km from downtown. Our hotel also was one street off the high-end shopping street. (Av da Liberdade). We took the subway ( only €.50 per ride) to the Praça do Comércio ( also known as Territory do Pavo). This is a public courtyard with many cafes/restaurants It would have been an easy walk but we had my 89 year old mother-in-law with. From there we walked the main tourist mile and saw the Elevator de Santa Justa but did not go up. If you walk up to the Parque Eduardo VII, it is a great place to get on a hop on/hop off bus. Or walk to the top and get a nice view down to the water. We used this two days both the grey line busses. First the green line ( of the grey lines busses) to take us up to the castle ruins and back. Though I would suggest taking the famous tram 28. We didn’t because my MIL needs the rest time on the bus.
The next day we took the grey line busses red line to bring us down to the water ( taxis are quite affordable in Lisbon). Here we saw the Belem Tower. Other things to do Jerónimos Monastary, or many other museums. We went to the museum “Quake” as in earthquake. It was a hands on /active museum about the 1755 earthquake that destroyed Lisbon. It took about 1.5 hours and was pretty interesting. At €30 I found it a bit pricey but everyone else in the group wanted it. Back up towards the center of Lisbon, my son and I had a late lunch at Manifest Lisbon. Sooo good. You can find them on instagram. We just happened to walk by. Another restaurant I wanted to try near by was called Honest Greens right by our hotel. Just walking by it smelled so fresh and good. Honestly, I found Lisbon to be the perfect city to just walk around in and feel the vibes. Follow your feet, eyes and ears. I know that you may not have so much time/energy. Just explore and have fun. And whatever mode of transport you use ( bus, taxi, subway, feet ) you will be safe.
I saw so many magnets for sale and thought of you. My son picked out a yellow street car magnet. :). I never felt unsafe and everyone was so nice.
Julia, I'm 61, the last generation that had libraries. I used to go down the aisles and find all kinds of books about the world around me. Biographies, history, fiction, nonfiction, mysteries, encyclopedias, atlases, travel, how-to books. The history of the human race at my fingertips, and researching for a school report from the card catalog, the Dewey decimal system. Fond memories, I feel sorry for your techno-generation.
So excited for you Julia now you get longer layovers and not the multiple airport hops and stress of it. Glad you’ll be doing more international trips. A happy Julia is great for Miss Luna.

Eye masks are a game changer when it comes to daytime sleeping. I especially love the ones I found that have padded cutouts, so you can open your eyes without fabric touching them. 😎
Nice episode Julia. I might be a bit behind but my lady and I spent some quality time in Mobile, AL and we got home late last night so yeah I'm tired. Hmm country that begins with an S? I'm hoping Spain but it could be South Africa or Sweden, regardless safe travels!
Hi Julia, next time in SF, take the ferry to Sausalito, the terminal is right there by the Farmer's Market. It's beautiful, great little shops and lots of great places to eat there and yes, a fantastic view of SF!!!👍👏👏👏👏
Julia since you love reading so much you may enjoy reading Lynette Eason’s books. I really enjoy her. There is usually suspense mixed with romance and police, or FBI or military slants.

Sweden? or Switzerland? Anyway - I have a question - so when you fly and have a layover and your airline books the hotel for you, do you get a choice? And also, so like for the rest of us check out is usually 11am - so for you did your airline just book you 2 nights? Or do you just have a late check out or do you even have to worry about check outs? Like, do you just pack up and walk away - and the airline takes care of everything?
I just got Finding Cinderella and Finding Perfect by Colleen Hoover.... only to later find out that there's more books in that series! 😂 So I guess I'll be looking to read those first!

The Ferry Building hosts great restaurants, shops and the farmers market. One of the landmark buildings in San Francisco. We in the Bay Area refer to her as The City....

It’s nice to see you enjoying SF. The only things I have heard is that there is 💩 and crime everywhere but it looks really safe.
SF sucked and dangerous. They would break in your car in the framer market if you drove there. You ate too much junk foods.

S for Spain and if you ever go to Barcelona, then go to the Fish Spa in the Gothic Quarter. Cheap Spa but great service.

It’s so cool that your seniority gets you some amazing trips. PHL has good flying (though I have no other base to compare to lol). I love the 1/1 transcontinental segments with the long layovers. Those, or the early morning quick turns (usually FL) and back home by 2pm!
