The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

Jane had a bar she owned here in Sedona, Az that was so much fun to visit. Once Jane and Eartha Kitt both smashed hung on each other singing one night. She had a tiny two seater sport car she'd drive like the wind all over the valley. She was very nice to everyone and absolutely beautiful even without make up on.
Thanks for sharing this delightful memory.
I liked it. Bought 2 on vinyl
when stars were stars....Jane does a more than fine job here...what a woman
Lovely voice, lovely dress.
..nice to see and hear Jane outside of her usual movie box. Sultry voice that hoids up well..live. (I miss entertainment like this )
Very versatile entertainer. She sells this song.
She sings the song like she is reading it... beautifully done ❤
Lovely
She's gorgeous.
Oh wow! What a nice surprise to hear Jane Russell singing. She had a beautiful voice, along with everything else. The total package.
Lovely Lady , Wonderful Actress !!! 🌹🌹😌
I saw her in Company as well, 1970, my first Broadway show. After the matinee on the street she signed my program. The first autograph of a star for me.
What a great star she was!
Very nice! I admired her acting and singing!☺️💜
She was terrific in those tough brunette roles she did on film, especially in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes(1953), the star-making film for Marilyn Monroe. 😁😁😁😁😁
Nice job. I knew she did a lounge nightclub act and recorded a couple of albums but this is the first time I have seen her live. Nice job Jane..
Thanks for this Jane Russel video on Ed’s show, she has a nice voice which went superb with that outfit. I also remember her “Playtex “ bra commercials as a kid and wondered why mom didn’t want me watching them…😂!
Have a great day!
'Playtex Bras, for us full-figured girls.'
@@JohnnyAngel8 That's what I remember; us full-figured gals!
Does anyone else recall those "Playtex" girdle commercials from the late 1960's into the early 1970's? "Wait! We can't go, I forgot my girdle! Oh never mind, I have it on!" I turned twelve in 1968 and could not (for the life of me) figure out what the hell a girdle was for.
@@JohnnyAngel8 I got in trouble asking what’s a full figure girl?…😀! I was 6 or seven then…😛!
@@Kw1161 Oh, well. Times were different then and children weren't supposed to ask those kinds of questions. Not your fault.
My wonderful thanks 🙏
Forgot she had such a lovely voice. Of course she sang in her movies, too, but that was a great little torch song!
When women had class. Gloves and all.
Now , that was a real broad like they just don’t make anymore
😃👍
Great interpretation of an Irving Berlin song!
My sister saw her on B’way in the original run of “COMPANY” as replacement for Elaine Stritch.
Janet Blair sang this song in the television production of ONE TOUCH OF VENUS.
The early Prototype of both Miss Connie Francis and Miss Bebe Neuwirth! Yummy!😍🎤💃🌹👒🎼🎵🎶🎺B.W.
I think Jane had 3 or 4 Kids.Wonderful woman.😊
Sweet
You should check out Sarah Vaughan singing say it isn't so
preserved video tape.
Similar voice to Julie London.
